Anecdotally, I’m a former pastor who hasn’t stepped foot inside a church in four years because of Trump and these people.

I almost walked out of church in 2016 when the head pastor thanked God for Trump from the pulpit. I hung on till the pandemic and when the church insisted on becoming centers for disease, I was just through.

Thanks. It’s been very difficult because I’m not an ex-Christian, but I’m not one of them anymore either. I doubt I ever really was.

I still want to be a pastor though, to talk about God and theology and support others as they go through life. It was my entire adult life.

I just don’t think there’s a puzzle out there that will fit my jagged little piece.

I really appreciate the suggestion, but I think my personal hesitation is that most churches hide their problems fairly well. So long as they’re not waving Trump flags or maga hats, it can be hard to know how healthy a church is until you’re reasonably invested in it.

I just don’t think I could handle that sort of discovery right now.

So the argument is the forger gave them bad documents that led to their capture and execution.

Part of their reasoning is when captured, his life was spared.

The counter argument is that mistakes were made in the forging, it was bound to happen. The executions weren’t coordinated but happened sporadically throughout the region whenever they were captured. Whether or not someone was spared had less to do with orders from above and just dumb luck.

Did I get that right? Seems tenuous to be blackening someone’s name.

The republican party universally sucks, but it isn’t a monolith on this topic. Many old school republicans hate Russia and love funding the military industrial complex.

The vote passed 70-29 in the Senate.

The margins are so slim in the house, you only need a handful to vote in favor for this to pass.

If 22 of 48 republicans voted in favor of it in the Senate, you can get at least that many in the House, which is more than enough.

Their only play to prevent this was to avoid bringing it to the floor, which is exactly what they’ve done for the last month.

Even as a split bill, this should pass easily.

Yeah, I just remember reading steam reviews a few days after release and they were largely very positive. I was surprised.

I’m not trying to sell anyone on the game, I don’t own it, never played it, despise games as a live service.

I just remember all the negative reviews then seeing it seem to land fairly well with players who bought in. Could have been the investment principle and nothing else.

I’ve known many pastors in the evangelical world. The reputation is well-deserved though hardly universal. Most the tend to assume “the ends justify the means” which is horrific when you try to measure consequences against eternal damnation.

“Better to ask forgiveness than permission” is also a phrase that is shockingly common.

Like all groups, they’re not homogeneous.

Nothing like sitting in the lounge of the TCS Tiger’s Claw, discussing the recent battle or the state of the war.

Nothing too dramatic, but I’m glad to see it getting some more attention. It’s a delightful game, but once you get to the end game there’s very little to keep you engaged despite the game clearly encouraging you to stay and keep playing.

Oh man, I was so excited, but initial reviews on steam make it look rough.

Dawncaster on mobile. An expansion comes out tomorrow and it’s the first mobile dlc I’m legitimately excited to throw money at. Excellent developers with an excellent game. Think Slay the Spire, but designed for mobile.

Caves of Qud on Steam Deck. It’s been a few years since I last played and it’s very different from what I remember. Combo that with using a controller for the first time and it’s been an enjoyable but challenging experience.

Hell Let Loose on PC. This may be my favorite multiplayer shooter of all time. I was a competitive counterstrike player back in 1.6 (Cal-M), so unseating those memories is an incredible achievement. It’s just so good.

The learning curve is steep and there’s plenty of room for frustration, but once you’re over that hump it’s legitimately a terrific experience.
