A Deep Dive Into Dragon Age: The Veilguard’s Expansive Character Creator (www.gameinformer.com)

Head and body presets can be selected individually and customized to your liking with 40 different complexions that include smooth, rugged, youthful, and freckled skin tones, skin hues ranging from cool to neutral to warm, undertones to those skin tones, and even a melanin slider. Busche tells me BioWare relied on consultation...

Klystron,

Every time I try to create anything with any of these “never before seen levels of customization” character creators I end up feeling like dr Frankenstein with the monsters I create. Basically every game I play it’s just the default model with like heterochromia or something lol. I have no idea how some people create the works of art they do.

Klystron,

Interesting. Next game I play that has one I’ll report back and show you how it went lmao

Klystron,

Why did you so casually dismiss it? Just because you don’t like a game doesn’t mean it’s boring with a lot of faults. The game was at 20k players average on steam last month, putting it above valheim, bdo, rimworld, risk of rain 2. That doesn’t really speak to me as a boring game.

Klystron,

I mean you basically stated it as a matter of fact. You didn’t go into any explanation of your thoughts and just dismissed the game as buggy and boring in a single sentence. On a post about how they potentially plagiarized pokemon that seems to be a little inflammatory.

Klystron,

I took faulty to mean buggy, but that’s really just semantics. Either would affect your view of the game pretty similarly.

Klystron,

No one lives forever can be downloaded free online. The Wikipedia says the devs shared the source code at some point and it’s in copyright hell so pretty much only way to get it. Was pretty fun, playing on the hardest difficult was kind of annoying though. Last boss fight was ridiculous. On to f.e.a.r.!

Klystron,

Never pre ordering anything for any reason ever has been a pretty good piece of advice to live by, I’ve found.

Klystron,

I fucking loved this game. I “acquired” it one night just to see how it was and ended up getting completely wrapped up in it and played through to the morning. Immediately bought the whole game next day. Not sure how updates and stuff are but the core gameplay is so much fun.

Klystron,

Well to balance that out indie games are normally a lot cheaper. Underrail is only $9 off on GoG but that’s a 60% discount. It’s rare to get a kinda modern AAA game that cheap.

OLED Steam Deck Announced, Pre-Orders Begin 16 November @ 10 AM PST (store.steampowered.com)

64/512GB LCD models are being phased out and are permanently on discount until sold out. Seems the 256GB LCD will remain while 512GB/1TB OLED are the other new SKUs. There is also an extremely limited limited edition 1 TB OLED that has a new color way, exclusive to the US and Canada.

Klystron,

Here’s an article by The Verge for a quick run down on what’s different. Sounds like basically everything got a slight face lift, however not enough to warrant the Steam Deck 2 moniker. Better battery, slightly better chip, better cooling, Wifi 6E, and more… Sounds like a no-brainer to buy this one over last “gen.” Not quite enough for a straight up upgrade for me though.

Klystron,

So it’s like a remake of the first one? What’s been changed?

Klystron,

Value for sure, but relevance? I challenge you to find one of your non tech obsessed friends (most of the population) that is still actively buying physical media or even still owns a disc player. I don’t even think I’ve heard my friends say the word blu ray in years.

Klystron,

Pretty hyped, even if it’s mostly just for nostalgia. Even though most people agree it’s 5 > 4 > 3, there’s just something about 3 that strikes a chord with me. Probably because it’s edgy af and I played it when I was an edgy teen but also the music is the best in the series imo

Klystron,

That’s a shitty one, haven’t heard of that. Both kb+m die? At the same time? Only for cyberpunk? How long does it last?

Klystron, (edited )

It’d be pretty sick if after seeing the massive success bg3 was and how they were wildly off with their prediction, Microsoft pushes an order for pillars of eternity 3.

While I’m in this bizzaro world where Microsoft makes good decisions, I’d also like a Ferrari.

Klystron,

I was actually pretty impressed with the loading, especially after coming from bg3. It was pretty much instant for me.

Klystron,

I save scum like a mother so bg3 was pretty painful to get through. Starfield was a breath of fresh air.

Klystron,

Verbatim my opinion. There’s nothing enjoyable here folks unless you like turning off your brain, fast travelling to planets and 100% search missions.

Klystron,

Wow, I’m surprised they’re still releasing stuff for this. I think typically the dlc for these games hasn’t been great but I’ll always support crpgs.

Klystron,

Any recommendations? Not too well versed in the genre… I did see synthetik on there, which was dope as hell. That’s a great game.

Klystron,

Played female v when I first ran through the game, any reason against playing male v if I’m restarting? I’ve always heard female v was better but idk why. Only difference I know of is you can’t romance Judy.

Klystron,

I fucking love burning my bread so goddamn much

whats your unconcious sign that you really really like the game you are playing

So i just noticed that when i really like the game at some point i will at once play the game and watch the stream/youtube wideo of the game( usualy speedrun or aome hardcore challenge). I noticed it recently with anno 1800 but now that i think about it i did that with tales of arise, eu4 ,kings bounty, total war, hades and...

Klystron,

Keep playing long enough and it’ll be 5 pm again and it’s like you haven’t played at all!

Microsoft May Exit Gaming Business If Game Pass Subscribers off Console Don't Increase Enough by 2027 (wccftech.com)

Spencer said in no uncertain terms that Microsoft could exit the gaming business if this projection became reality. Microsoft needs the light green and blue segments (PC and cloud) to get much larger and much faster by fiscal year 2027, or it could opt out of the business altogether....

Klystron,

While less competition is bad, I’m not sure there’s been a competition with Microsoft since like 2009. They have continuously proven that they will make the dumbest choices with stuff like always on online, can’t play used games, gimping games for the series x because the series s is basically just the Xbox one again, buying game developers and doing absolutely nothing with them, and releasing maybe two interesting exclusives in the span of 15 years. I was team green from the og launch until I got my PS4 but man I hope they just kick Xbox to the curb and just let PC kinda do its own thing. I have zero confidence in Xbox making any decision right in the gaming space.

Klystron,

Well it’s not gonna be a live service game in 12 days anyway. So please don’t buy it.

Klystron,

For me I just can’t support it because I feel like it’s just one more step in changing digital ownership. Always my fear that one day I’ll wake up and storefronts aren’t a thing, you have to subscribe to play a game.

Klystron,

Successful in terms of cash, which I’d imagine is the most common metric people look for. Now whether gamers will look back on bg3 or d4 more fondly? You decide!!

Klystron,

My shit would’ve been confiscated so fast if I brought my Gameboy to school, holy shit. And then I’d be grounded from it for the next year lol. Blew my mind when I heard phones are like totally allowed in schools nowadays. Even if I did have a gameboy with me though idk when I would’ve had time to play it. I guess during lunch but again that’s when teachers were on the prowl. I do remember I had summer school one year and Mr. P did not give a FUCK lol. So I played Mario kart ds download play all summer with some of the kids and got an A lol. Good times.

Klystron,

Haha, you think? Nah I mean it was just a public school, pretty normal overall. I got the vibe it was pretty similar to other schools from what my friends told me. Things just seem a lot different now.

Klystron,

After the initial highlight of the actual item, I always have had a blue beam shooting out of the item that I perceived. I verified it stays a while after the first check because most other crpgs are awful at this too and just do a quick flash and you’re stuck wondering where the thing is. Haven’t had any issues in bg3

Klystron,

Weird. I stared at mine for like 2 minutes, then went to the bathroom and came back and it was still highlighted.
