assembly,

You know that the rolling coal people are seeing these requests and doing it more.

assembly,

That’s a hell of a sales pitch. Help elect a Republican and that Republican MAY not ban the people practicing your religion.

assembly,

Alternatively, if she cracks cold fusion. Have to give her some options to make it more realistic. Solve two-of-three problems type of thing.

assembly,

Good thing he doesn’t lead a low lying coastal state that would be heavily impacted by climate change and rising sea levels or this would be super awkward.

assembly,

They would still vote for him and say it’s a conspiracy as he’s not really dead. He’s just chilling with Elvis in a CIA bunker or something.

assembly,

I mean those kids grow up to be adults and they need somewhere to work that allows them to pursue their “passions”….

assembly,

I am surprised it won’t be more of a hardware improvement since the switch was released in 2017 so there has been a whole lot of new hardware to choose from since then. I would imagine there would be bigger improvements in GPU with the better Radeon offerings.

assembly,

My guess is that Oracle has audit logging support but it was not turned on by the implementation vendor. Typically a customer uses a partner for professional services to get it up and running for training and handoff. So it’s probably a mix of people that kicked it up. The one constant with Oracle deployments is that they are always over budget and rarely work and it’s somehow always a mix of faults. So from a high level view it is probably something to do with the way Oracle engages or who they partner with or both.

assembly,

I imagine the benefit is that China will be on a level playing field if they have to influence an outside company vs just telling subordinates to accomplish an objective like creating dissent amongst a foreign population.

assembly,

We should have passed this in 2023 and be working on the next phase of funding. We are cleared to send them jets now which would use up a chunk of that cash which is needed for missiles and shells.

assembly,

OR…we build a system that provides the necessary foundation for citizens such that charitable donations for domestic causes are not needed.

assembly,

I mean that’s kinda the point of taxes. People should have housing, food, water, and healthcare. If we did taxes right, those elements would already be covered and drastically reduce the current lift of charities. Most charities now focus on those elements and if we taxed appropriately and spent with good intentions we could cover the 90th percentile of charity needs without going in depth on edge cases. There will end up being edge cases such that charities probably won’t ever be unnecessary but don’t let perfection be the enemy of progress. Watching go fund me campaigns for healthcare is so goddamn dystopian.

assembly,

So I disagree on the medical research example as that should be included in public research funding. Your example of the FSF is spot on as an area of expansion. For the examples like Project Linus, I assume smaller charities like that make up less than 10% of charity totals combined which would fall into the example of “lets focus on the main 90%”. If the share of charities that are not covered by Maslows L1 is smaller than like 80ish percent then the approach would need to be changed. I have no idea how to search for that data. I would think that the items listed would cover 90ish percent of I could be way off though and am curious is there is a way to find that out.

assembly,

It is about goddamn-fucking-time Ukrainian aid passes. These R dipshits have helped Russia/Putin incredibly and now we are sending over what probably would have been enough for ongoing defense prior to Ukraine having to secede territory. Now they need even more to be victorious and we know they ain’t passing shit in the near term unless they are voted out.

assembly,

Damn that’s a really good idea. We should be doing that. Ukraine appears to have the intelligence community to pull that off already.

assembly,

This has been so frustrating to watch. We have half of our country bootlicking the Russian leader that their cult leader is strangely endeared towards. This was our opportunity to really do the right thing and support a people defending themselves and their democracy. Something we as Americans could have been proud of for generations. But no. Republicans couldn’t have us do the right thing. Not even once.

assembly,

They couldn’t even make it higher than the DAW defaults at 120bpm. So you have new musicians that have never recorded accidentally producing music at 120 and breaking the law. This is the dumbest shit I’ve seen since last week. I don’t typically put anything together that is below 120. Looks like I’m on my way to being a Chechen fugitive.

assembly,

Capitalist Zombie is an amazing band name. Someone needs to use that.

assembly,

Hot damn Russia is just making up random shit at this point that has zero continuity in the storyline. At least before they just lied but now it’s moved into some weird super alternate reality.

assembly,

These billionaires don’t tend to think past their main interests which are measured in quarters. A fascist US would hold the value of currency probably long enough to not calculate into their concerns. The dollar will most likely take years to fall off a cliff so they’ve got 12-24 months and they don’t care about anything further out. Their long term assumption is that they will be part of the fascist gov and keep doing well.

assembly,

I was RedHat 3 back in 1996. Not even sure how we got the CD but we all passed it around and were amazed.

assembly,

Those folk are off to be heroes in Valhalla

assembly,

Going to be sad to see it go. I know the series wasn’t universally loved but I really did enjoy it. Looking forward to April 4th!

assembly,

They could invade Maine which would kick off the Maple wars. They’ll start to eye Vermont and New Hampshire next. The US population will be powerless to resist as the Canadians lull the domestic population into submission with free healthcare and Tim Hortons.

assembly,

China really needs to chill out with these crazy claims. They are not making friends in the region and putting everyone on the defensive.

Man they really jumped the shark at number 4. I mean you had to suspend rational belief across all of them but that’s just movie magic. Number 4 took it too far.

assembly,

This is a really tough situation. What would be the best response to this? It’s a humanitarian crisis and the people of Haiti are going to suffer immensely but what can other countries do? I don’t know much about the gang leader “Barbecue” but I’d wager he isn’t going to be a benevolent leader so just letting him take over is probably going to make things worse. At the same time, I don’t even think a UN peacekeeping force is going to have a positive impact as I’m pretty sure the people of Haiti are suspicious of EU powers due to their history. I can’t see a solution to this one that brings about a stable Haiti in the near term. Hopefully someone with more awareness in this topic could share some insights though.

assembly,

An insurance company named Chubb put up the bond money and they are not under financial monitoring.

assembly,

This comment made me wonder what happened to Caitlyn Jenner. I mean not enough to look it up but still wonder.

assembly,

Out of every esports event that could face issues I did not think anyone would be crazy angry about Nintendo. Did someone get blueshelled too many times in Mario Kart? I mean, what would drive people to get intense about Nintendo?

assembly,

I have a pretty high end gaming computer with glass sides and they put stickers on it and draw on it. I think it’s fun. They also put stickers all over the inside of my Jeep which remind me of them. They draw on some walls too and sometimes with me alongside since it’s nothing a future coat of paint and primer can’t fix.
