bitwolf,

This may seem odd, but check if your mobo has a bios update. Often bios break uefi standards to appease Microsofts non-standard requirements.

These get fixed overtime as ACPI bugs are fixed.

bitwolf,

90% of these I see involve a pickup.

Maybe the driver should be forced to drive compact vehicles for several years.

That said it does seem like it could be a texting and driving situation which would warrant more punishment.

I’m usually against technology lock outs but I do long for cars to be able to limit phone functionality while driving.

bitwolf,

Dang, swearing was one of my strategies to get the bot to forward me to a representative

bitwolf,

Did you install from Minimal or Everything isos?

You may need to install the firmware for the GPU if so.

bitwolf,

Gnome is way more put together than Plasma 6 at this point in time. Its rock solid reliable.

I keep gnome as my stable laptop setup, and Plasma as my tinkering with games setup. This outlines both of their strengths individually.

bitwolf,

Was hoping to see a fix for the right click menu randomly deciding to open as a window.

bitwolf,

I’d argue there are two ideologies.

Gnome focuses on design and user interaction, then features.

Plasma focuses on configuration and modularity, then design.

It does seem like they are starting to converge though. With gnome focusing on more features, and Plasma focusing more on design and consistency.

bitwolf,

Anyone know the song? SoundHound and now playing failed me

bitwolf,

Readably

No RSS reader is quite like it.

Synfonium

Best music player out there.

bitwolf,

Wow Horizon looks so much better in comparison.

I thought the first game looks nice but only decent. Hyped for West to hit steam sales

bitwolf,

It dictates the location and size of certain keys.

For example the needlessly large enter key on ISO or the annoyingly small left shift key in ISO. You could very likely prefer ANSI as well.

bitwolf,

Yes however you’re the only one talking about the alphanumeric keys.

bitwolf,

Hey I just had tacos and we have the same plates. Uncanny

bitwolf,

I dont know, it seems like a gratuitous purchase.

“AI”

Well damn, why didn’t you tell me, I must have this now.

bitwolf,

Oh good maybe more cities will have nice bus systems

bitwolf,

Love Facebook container, but never tried multi account containers thanks for sharing!

Would love for it to be available on the Android version

bitwolf,

Forejo offers the ability to login via githubs oauth provider.

bitwolf,

Glad to see it finally happening. Wayland has been an amazing experience for several years

bitwolf,

I’d say Dex is pretty cool. Thats really all I’d like to bring over to Google Experience personally.

Hoping it drops in 15 for Pixels

bitwolf,

I’m quite happy with the centered hole punch on the latest Samsung made displays. Much less obtrusive than the notch and I can actually see the status icons.

I’d still prefer a full bezel speaker HTC M8 style though.

bitwolf,

Isnt it a felony to threaten someone or something?

bitwolf,

It goes really deep, worth the read.

They offered a tool to remove the rootkit that just silently installed another one.

bitwolf,

If you’re buying a Nintendo console for 3rd party games you’re going about it all wrong tbh

bitwolf,

I agree completely, especially under the video game preservation viewpoint.

I lost a few DSi games when the store shut down so I only bought switch cartridges. However I haven’t touched it since I got a Steam Deck because I know those games will last

bitwolf,

Discord would work if they ever updated their electron version.

bitwolf,

My ground for it working with hyprland but it required some hacking. I could ask him what he did if you really want hypr.

Personally I use gnome and plasma and both work great with everything. Discord has some jank but works… Barely

bitwolf,

And now, back to your regularly scheduled approved programming!

bitwolf,

The movie “Other life” demonstrates how this could go wrong.

bitwolf,

I imagine it would fail CTS and SafetyNet. Kind of curious if shizuku works on it

bitwolf,

That should be an ADA violation

bitwolf,

Damn where do you work, I’d gladly fill that seat. I’d take Ubuntu over Windows any day.

I actually like Gnome but I’m so tired of Microsoft shops.

bitwolf,

If not colors its vertical and horizontal :)

bitwolf,

Hey, how do you get the creative Commons attribution to automatically appear under your comments?

[SOLVED!] On an Android phone is there an open source method of compressing files?

I have to submit a document for employment and they want my passport but my passport photo is 5.49 MB and they say you can’t upload anything more than 5 MB. How can I shrink that file on my android phone without paying some service?

bitwolf,

Is that with a locked bootloader and sandbox google play?

bitwolf, (edited )

they have to find new ways of competing for business

Yeah haha. Regrettably doing right by the consumers because a competitor is.

Although I would not be surprised if they find a way to make a money pit out of it. (Such as not being chill like Sony and releasing on steam, forcing users on to the Windows store)

bitwolf,

They could stand to make a bunch of money reselling old games with 4k, vrr, HDR, and calling it remastered.

bitwolf,

That was seemingly really only to dunk on Sony and secure another year of sales.

bitwolf,

You lost me at “females” Kirk. Talking like they’re science specimens.

bitwolf,

Well in that case using just “female” is ambiguous. Are they banning female horses from breeding also? All female animals?

When speaking publicly I imagine someone would think about possible misinterpretations. Wouldn’t using “Woman” fare better?

bitwolf,

I remember the competition on speed. And Google publishing the response time on the results page as a way to showcase it’s speed over the competitors.

Dell is so frustrating

Dell has got to be one of the most frustrating companies that put out a linux laptop. They put out a laptop certified for ubuntu but then never support newer releases. A big part of their hardware is always proprietary drivers like webcam, fingerprint reader etc… Then you update to a new LTS release because lets be serious...

bitwolf,

That’s surprising to hear because my Skylake XPS 13 had everything upstreamed and worked flawlessly.

LVFS support too. Are you trying with an XPS 15?

bitwolf,

If you are checking out the extent of damage on your system do not use ldd to check the links.

You can inadvertently executed the exploit this way.

bitwolf,

You : I have bug with cosmic
Dev : which cosmic?
You : you know cosmic
Dev : which mf cosmic? \

I would say “Cosmic DE”, as I have been saying the whole time, just like they have named it.

If I am able to identify the specific component I would specify the submodule of Cosmic DE which is linked in the repository named cosmic-epoch.

If I wanted to report an issue with POP_Shell which is a part of COSMIC I I would go to the repository called Cosmic.

I have been restating this and restating, the fact that you’re conflating my response with what you have been calling “Gnome-Based Cosmic Desktop”.

bitwolf,

I always found the whirling noise surprising. One can clearly hear the wheels which are as loud as the speaker.

And if you’re deaf neither will help.

bitwolf,

The Finals season 3

And lots and lots of Redout 2.
