nondescripthandle,

If iran is fair game for Isreal then under the same logic the US becomes fair game for Hamas.

nondescripthandle,

More a capability issue and the fact rhat they’d be glassed overnight if they touched the US, because no one thinks the US is fair game. Unfair game at best, but no one important in international politics would stand up for Hamas should they attack the US, theyd sit and watch the genocide accelerate. The same way no one should be standing up for Isreal after attacking Iran.

nondescripthandle,

They bombed an Embassy dude. Like how much are you willing to excuse?

nondescripthandle,

Trump assassinated an Iranian General and their response was more level headed than anything Israel has done since October 8th. The US is worried about the wrong country.

nondescripthandle,

They don’t like being called invaders but it probably fits better.

nondescripthandle,

Hijacked implies he doesn’t want them there. They may have taken over, but the door was left open.

nondescripthandle,

Probably because lord knows effecting her conscience isn’t the way to make her change course.

nondescripthandle,

I don’t outright disagree with anything you said but the saving grace could be the campaign money. Trump is counting on his personality cult to carry him through the media circus of publicity while his finances go to court fees. Money can win elections and so far Bidens winning the money race. I wouldn’t know how to quantify that money advantage though, so who knows if its enough.

nondescripthandle,

“Sorry all the starving kids look the same from the drone camera”

nondescripthandle,

And they already have all the guns they need. This is why gun ownership is growing fastest among Black people, Latinos, and Trans people. I remember this when any gun control ideas come up, because anything you’re trying to ban is already in the hands of most of the fascists. I’m fine with gun control, but not poorly implimented restrictions that mostly effect the populations trying to defend themselves. The most dangerous people bought their guns decades ago. They’ll pass them down to their kids too.

nondescripthandle,

In a country with more guns that people refusing to learn how they work is irresponsible. Knowing how they work and gun safety, and how to make a gun safe, is necessery otherwise in any situation with guns you have all the context that deer has on an interstate. We can do better we can learn and give ourselves the information necessary to make the best available decisions.

nondescripthandle,

If any of those boxes contained classified documents and you weren’t an already established politician you’d be Chelsea Manning’d into years of solitary confinement though.

nondescripthandle,

May I interest you in completely real band ‘King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard’

nondescripthandle,

Uh huh, im sure conservatives will face consequences for their actions any day now.

nondescripthandle,

Enjoy your loooooong nap.

nondescripthandle,

Not going to lie to you I don’t like star voting over other ranked methods and if it was implemented id only vote for the candidate I want. If you like the underdog theres no incentive to rank other people because that necessarily makes the margin you can effect smaller, and why would you give points to someone who could end up overtaking your first choice with those given points?

nondescripthandle,

I dont disagree at all, and would still push for that system over what we have now for sure.

Dems who censured Rep. Tlaib over Palestine comments largely silent on GOP Rep's call for nukes (www.thehandbasket.co)

I reached out to spokespeople for all 22 Democrats Monday morning with a simple inquiry: I wanted to know if they planned to make a statement or take any sort of action—like a censure—against Rep. Walberg for his call for the destruction of Gaza....

nondescripthandle,

My guess is a reference to the novel by Upton Sinclair called The Jungle.

nondescripthandle,

That’s rich coming from the woman who proped up and helped fund Trump. Shes more responsible for him than any single voter could be.

nondescripthandle,

Well if they were fraudulent and nothings changed about who runs the state and the elections then it’s even dumber to allocate resources there, since there’s nothing in place to prevent another fraud.

nondescripthandle,

The wierdest part is all the other Americans telling me I have to go out and vote for genocide because the other guy might be able to genocide too. Its like my countrymen have one shared braincell and they borrowed it from CNN.

nondescripthandle,

Im not interested in what genocide supporters are going to vote for thanks for the input though.

nondescripthandle,

If dealing with reality means supporting genocide, I’ll stay in the fantasy. Enjoy being a genicide apologist.

nondescripthandle,

The question isn’t Trumps stance the question is will the Democrats have enough votes to throw a wrench in it. Same way it worked with immigration. There been little changes in border policy, agencies, and agents between presidencies yet the Democrats fought hard against Trumps policy, then stopped fighting when Biden was in charge. Seems to me democrats are unwilling to fight their own party on issues they would gladly fight the other party for. No one questions what Trump wants. We question his ability to do it. Like the border wall he couldn’t build much of. Last I checked Bidens built more length of border wall than Trump has.

Like the border wall he couldn’t build much of. Last I checked Bidens built more length of border wall than Trump has. The presidency isn’t a dictatorship. And Bidens already used EOs to arm Israel so at worst he could do the same as Biden if someone actually stood up to him.

nondescripthandle,

Your logic is to not try and stop a genocide at all. My logic is to vote against all genociders, it’s not like im voting for Trump, I don’t prefer him at all. Im voting down ballot for every candidtae that stands against the genocide. You’re voting for guy thats funding it. One of us is trying to stop it and the other is justifying voting for funding it. That necessarily makes you a genocide apologist.

nondescripthandle, (edited )

Who said I wasn’t voting? In fact I recall explicitly saying somewhere in this comment chain how I was voting.

nondescripthandle,

Considering there’s more than one race on a ballot and ballot initiative, only an idiot would think that’s the same as not voting.

Will MAGA Republicans Block Baltimore’s Rebuilding? (www.nytimes.com)

Extreme partisanship, which took hold long before Trump took control of the G.O.P., is part of the answer. It was clear through most of the Obama years that Republicans wanted to prevent good things from happening on a Democratic president’s watch. Under Obama, G.O.P. legislators squeezed federal spending after they took...

nondescripthandle,

Because in America we don’t hold corporations accountable if we could force taxpayers to shoulder the burden instead.

U.S. signs off on more bombs, warplanes for Israel (www.washingtonpost.com)

The Biden administration in recent days quietly authorized the transfer of billions of dollars in bombs and fighter jets to Israel despite Washington’s concerns about an anticipated military offensive in southern Gaza that could threaten the lives of hundreds of thousands of Palestinian civilians....

nondescripthandle,

The duopoly is just thrilled that it convinced the majority that voting for genocide is okay so long as there’s a scarier genocide on the other side. If you don’t seek alternatives when the lesser of two evils becomes the lesser of two genocided you’ll never seek an alternative. Id rather lose trying to stop a genocide than win supporting one. Do all your mental gymnastics but the point remains if enough people voted against genocode instead of against trump, then it would necessarily mean a third party would win. If not now, during a literal genocide, you never will, just own that. If the choice was Hitler, Stalin, and a third party candidate would you still tell everyone that third party votes are wasted?

nondescripthandle,

Wild that instead of using AI and robotics to replace jobs that are hazardous to people we focus on eliminating the more costly jobs instead of the more hazardous ones. Sure you may die doing this job, but since you’re not paid a lot, get fucked, that will remain a human job.

nondescripthandle,

Executive branches can easily be democratized too. Like Chile under Allende developing project cybersyn, you can essentially make a social media for employees only where the goal is to decide and vote on the direction of the company. We’ve had technological solutions for CEOs since the 70s. Shame we couped them and destroyed thay project. They have the most replaceable jobs.

nondescripthandle,

When push comes to shove, democrats fall over. Every time.

nondescripthandle,

If it works in Palestine it’s coming to a low income neighborhood near you! And not just the facial recognition program. IDFs been training American cops for decades. It’s going to keep happening.

nondescripthandle,

What a deeply sick society they got over there.

nondescripthandle,

“Ooops the law accidentally applied to a republican, let me fix that real quick”

Seriously why do we still follow laws? I say break every one you can get away with at this point.

nondescripthandle,

Dont be confused, they wont leverage their majorities, or they’ll have nothing to promise to do to make you re elect them.

nondescripthandle,

Americans have cared about arabs one way or the other since 2001, we had wars over this, we took in refugees and interpreters. No one older than 12 thinks this is sudden.

In France, the Future Is Arriving on a Barge: The Seine is becoming a test case for a European plan to cut carbon emissions by turning rivers into the new highways (www.nytimes.com)

As pale morning light flickered across the Seine, Capt. Freddy Badar steered his hulking river barge, Le Bosphore, past picturesque Normandy villages and snow-fringed woodlands, setting a course for Paris....

nondescripthandle,

In modern American politics its just the easiest way to get funding for a new bridge.

nondescripthandle,

“Its not news if I dont agree with it!”

Wild.

nondescripthandle,

Not enough has been said about the border under Biden. Nothing changed other than him saying not to seperate families, but its still happening, the camps are the same, the department heads are the same, the people staffing the agencies are the same. Its Donald’s border with Bidens name on it. He cant even get Texas to obey federal law or stop human trafficking when it comes to immigration.

Israel announces largest West Bank land seizure since 1993 during Blinken visit (www.washingtonpost.com)

Israel’s far-right finance minister, Bezalel Smotrich, announced the seizure of 10 square kilometers (3.8 square miles) of Palestinian territory in the West Bank on Friday. The move marks the single largest land seizure by the Israeli government since the 1993 Oslo accords, according to Peace Now, a settlement watchdog group....

nondescripthandle,

Remember kids punching zionists is not a right, it’s a duty.

nondescripthandle,

No because Trumps base loves that he’s a criminal. Bidens base isn’t so crazy about genocide. It’s not really comparable unless you’re fine with losing Michigan.

nondescripthandle,

Advertising on social media just needs to flip perspective, like if I was Clorox Id buy space specifically next to rightoid conspircy because the logical people will think yeah I definitely need bleach after reading that, and the conspiracy idiots have a good chance of drinking the bleach instead of getting a vaccine.

Gaza is getting less than half the humanitarian aid it needs to avoid famine (english.elpais.com)

[The] U.N. World Food Programme estimates that at least 300 trucks of food are needed every day to meet the basic needs of the population. During the first half of March, an average of 159 trucks a day have entered Gaza, representing 40% of the minimum amount required, according to U.N. data. Before the Israeli offensive, an...

nondescripthandle,

I for one look forward to the punching zionists phase of this comparison, they could use a little physical perspective shifting.
