So I took the plunge and installed Fedora Silverblue because of all that immutable buzz. And it’s the most frustrating change I have made in almost 20 years of my distrohopping....
You got me so good. Been using fedora for a few years now and I’ve been hesitant to hop to silverblue but now, after reading your issues with it I might just have to stay away. I can’t imagine a world of painless updates and rebasing smoothly. If I don’t have things to troubleshoot what else am I gonna do on my PC!
some projects/ideas i found in the last couple of years, that try to solve our current problem of the internet being a centralized structure that is controllable by big corporations or governments and not so easily usable with mesh technology or when not being connected for long amounts of time...
I just installed EndeavorOS on an HP Spectre360 that’s roughly 2 years old. I am honestly surprised at how easy it went. If you google it, you’ll get a lot of “lol good luck installing linux on that” type posts - so I was ready for a battle....
I’m considering switching to linux but I’m not a computer savvy person, so I wanted to have the option to switch back to windows if unforeseen complications (I only have 1 pc). Is it just a download on usb and install? And what ways can I get the product key or “cleaner” debloated versions.
I mean yea, props to Amazon for the good show but the story and lore of fallout has always been there. The games were just bad without mods. Honestly if Bethesda just sold books they’d probably be best sellers
I’m sick of Windows, and especially what it’s become, and the way its trending looks like it will only get worse. I’ll be building a brand new PC this summer and want to choose a Linux Distro instead. In preparation, I’d like to try out a virtual machine with a Linux distribution. I am solidly familiar with Ubuntu, but I...
I always hear amazing things about opensuse. I didn’t like it but I didn’t have any issue with it. Just preferred fedora over it. I’d say give it a shot
Nowadays distro doesn’t really matter. Just pick something that clicks with you. Almost everything is a flatpak now so it’ll install on any distro. If you come across something only packaged for Ubuntu or Debian you can use distrobox.
I know older titles are usually the topic in this community but a lot of the popular f2p games are getting pretty old now too, and if you’re like me you’ve been curious about some of them and even pleasantly surprised now and again....
I used to be addicted to PlanetSide 2. Great game but it really needs a rewite or a 3rd installment. Player numbers are low and the game feels dated but it’s still so fun to me if you can find a coherent platoon
On the outside, the specs seem really good for the price. Hall effect joysticks and triggers are quite nice. Battery is good. 7840U is as good as you can get in a handheld.
Bad example because you can. With the linux container you can install any linux app and it works on a Chromebook. Appears in the app search too. But I definitely get what you mean, Chrome OS and Android may use the Linux kernel but they’ll never be Linux
The point I’m making is that they had no excuse to release it in that state in the first place unlike hello games with no man’s sky which was also a horrible launch.
I honestly wish for a vita sized steam deck. I love the PS vita 1000. It was small and portable but thick enough to hold. Still would be uncomfortable after many hours but honestly that just means it’s time to take a break
But for why (I’m commenting this before reading) wouldn’t it make more sense to home I’m the scope of systemd so it can be easier to maintain? Why have it do everything?
After writing a lot about it referencing my last playthroughs, I started it once again via OpenMW with official expansions and nude mode only, for it became kind of a habit....
Did they really? I just looked it up and it looks exactly the same… It seems like it’s just a rerelease but like why? Weren’t there still people playing the original battlefront 2 with mods and shit?
I’m using linux mint 21.3, and a process (brave aka chrome) sometimes memory leaking, so eats all the RAM, and then linux goes into swap death loop, when everything freezes (sometimes the mouse cursor is moving), and nothing can’t be done, i can just see the HDD led blinking, and do a reset. Is there a way to make the system...
This is really intriguing, but am I reading the instructions correctly? Call me dumb, but I don’t know how to reinstall Win10 Home; I don’t have a recovery CD or anything like that. I’d also need to back up everything first… which would be a pain…
Fedora Silverblue is the most frustrating distro so far
