secret300,

No man’s sky VR here I come

secret300,

yeah? I use gnome and VR didn’t work. This plus the recent fix for gnome means I can play it in VR. I coulda just used KDE but I didn’t feel like it

secret300,

Aww damn, I definitely thought it was real and in some video game magazine

secret300,

Damn I actually have one, oldie but still has a better camera then my current phone. Just needs a new screen.

secret300,

If there’s a will there’s a way. I’m sure there’s a way for the pixel 3a

secret300,

Foobar is a piss poor reason cause 1 it’s shit but to each their own. 2 I’m 95% positive it works perfectly with wine for years now

secret300,

You got me so good. Been using fedora for a few years now and I’ve been hesitant to hop to silverblue but now, after reading your issues with it I might just have to stay away. I can’t imagine a world of painless updates and rebasing smoothly. If I don’t have things to troubleshoot what else am I gonna do on my PC!

Some interesting distributed networks (non-centrally controllable networks)

some projects/ideas i found in the last couple of years, that try to solve our current problem of the internet being a centralized structure that is controllable by big corporations or governments and not so easily usable with mesh technology or when not being connected for long amounts of time...

secret300,

IPFS seems like it’s dying but I still have high hopes for it

secret300,

On my surface I still need to :/ fuckin Microsoft

secret300,

So far the surface pro 3 been working great for me. Still no secure boot or tpm but I think I just did something wrong when I followed the guide

secret300,

Front and back cameras work perfectly. Not sure about IR, didn’t even know it had it

secret300,

Get your keybinds the way you want and learn how to use the tiling extension that comes with pop. I found it super useful when I used to use pop

How easy is it to switch back to windows?

I’m considering switching to linux but I’m not a computer savvy person, so I wanted to have the option to switch back to windows if unforeseen complications (I only have 1 pc). Is it just a download on usb and install? And what ways can I get the product key or “cleaner” debloated versions.

secret300,

Install: easy.

Seeing how much more annoying it is after using Linux: hard.

secret300,

Swear, although I’m more of a “mod+shift+q” kind of guy

secret300,

I mean yea, props to Amazon for the good show but the story and lore of fallout has always been there. The games were just bad without mods. Honestly if Bethesda just sold books they’d probably be best sellers

secret300,

Oh damn I didn’t know that

Building a brand new machine and leaving Windows for good

I’m sick of Windows, and especially what it’s become, and the way its trending looks like it will only get worse. I’ll be building a brand new PC this summer and want to choose a Linux Distro instead. In preparation, I’d like to try out a virtual machine with a Linux distribution. I am solidly familiar with Ubuntu, but I...

secret300,

I always hear amazing things about opensuse. I didn’t like it but I didn’t have any issue with it. Just preferred fedora over it. I’d say give it a shot

Nowadays distro doesn’t really matter. Just pick something that clicks with you. Almost everything is a flatpak now so it’ll install on any distro. If you come across something only packaged for Ubuntu or Debian you can use distrobox.

secret300,

I used to be addicted to PlanetSide 2. Great game but it really needs a rewite or a 3rd installment. Player numbers are low and the game feels dated but it’s still so fun to me if you can find a coherent platoon

secret300,

Why were you dumb enough to buy it on epic? Should’ve just pirated it

secret300,

Can’t wait for game pass games to show an ad on each death

secret300,

I had to reread it like 10 times because at first I just thought my brain was auto correcting it

secret300,

I hope not. I love the deck but I’d love to wait longer so it’s a noticeable upgrade

secret300,

Haha, I always think of digital rights management at first too but it’s actually talking about direct rending something

secret300,

Bad example because you can. With the linux container you can install any linux app and it works on a Chromebook. Appears in the app search too. But I definitely get what you mean, Chrome OS and Android may use the Linux kernel but they’ll never be Linux

secret300,

By this logic windows is also a fucking linux system because you can use WSL on it.

Okay I never thought of it this way and I actually completely understand your point now.

secret300,

Helldivers 2 is proof the learned nothing. You still can’t buy the game in all the countries that you can’t make a PSN account.

secret300,

What idiots gave this game a good review? It’s not like no man’s sky that had a small team and dozens of legal trolls as well as a flood.

secret300,

The point I’m making is that they had no excuse to release it in that state in the first place unlike hello games with no man’s sky which was also a horrible launch.

secret300, (edited )

Please tell me the GitHub link is just incorrect. I’m getting a 404. Did Nintendo already take it down?!

Edit: okay jerboa just be fuckin up the link, cause when I go to the video and click on it, it’s there

secret300,

Eh more of a gnome thing than a Wayland thing

secret300,

Well, it literally says “business will be healthy” so yes that’s what that means

secret300,

Ive never heard the term “DINK” What is that?

secret300,

I like btrfs but only cause it got transparent compression. I don’t need the extra disk space and it only helps a bit but I just think it’s neat

secret300,

Even more neat

secret300,

Made with Godot? I didn’t even know Godot could do VR/AR?!

secret300,

I honestly wish for a vita sized steam deck. I love the PS vita 1000. It was small and portable but thick enough to hold. Still would be uncomfortable after many hours but honestly that just means it’s time to take a break

secret300,

But for why (I’m commenting this before reading) wouldn’t it make more sense to home I’m the scope of systemd so it can be easier to maintain? Why have it do everything?

secret300,

Oooh okay that makes more sense. Thanks I didn’t know that

secret300,

Oh okay I didn’t know that thanks

secret300,

For me sound broke but I just had to rm a file and reboot

secret300,

Just started playing demon’s souls and dang it’s tuff

secret300,

Why is this in free and open source software? Last time I checked windows was proprietary

secret300,

For once that actually sounds like something you could use AI for and it would be useful

secret300,

I’ve never been more happy that someone was wrong, sorry it had to be you
