If your social sphere is small, there aren’t a lot of people to want/love you. And the “failure” bit depends on your goals, you might have just set them too high. Remember, this is a game of incremental progress.
It’s taken me a year to somewhat consistently not see myself as that predatory/awkward/appropriating man image, and that’s with a social network that has not once projected that onto me. I can only imagine how much harder it is when they’re not supportive.
The one time I was hit while cycling, I had my attention split 2 ways and was hit by a driver from a 3rd conflict point.
When you see a cyclist doing something dangerous, you make note of that to confirm the idea that cyclists are stupid and reckless. But when you see a driver doing that, you’re so used to it it doesn’t even register as “all drivers are stupid and reckless”.
If you must avoid code blocks, that means you can only use one line. I don’t think you can be Turing complete if each function can only call one function. I don’t even think you can get a context-free grammar, Chomsky normal form at least allows a variable to expand into two variables.
The idea that you can cleanly separate parts of a whole is a useful lie. Gender is a separate part of a person, except for all the ways it’s not. A person is a separate part of the world, except for how they’re not.
We’re all fundamental particles doing a bajillion things per second in an indescribably complex dance and we label a subset of the near-infinite patterns in this mess “gender”.
