Having mandatory military is dumb. I was in for a few enlistments and you don’t want someone forced to be there when people’s lives are on the line. Vietnam ended up with a bunch of officers getting fragged by disgruntled draftees.

I’m not adding anything new, but I wanted to agree with others saying playing in bursts is fine. I would suggest at least 1 hour, if not more. If you don’t have an hour just wait till you do. I played it in burst, but there is so much to read that a shorter amount of time won’t do it justice.

Definitely worth playing. Multiple times too. I played my first go one way and now I’m playing a completely different Tequila Sunrise.

I won’t say that won’t happen, but they will call back all the inactive reserves first. The 1st time you sign an active duty contract, you sign up for 8 years total. Everyone does. It normally is 4 years active and 4 years inactive, but sometimes it’s 5 and 3 or 6 and 2.

They called people back in '02, '03 during OEF/OIF. It’s easier to call people with prior training back then train 100% new one.

I’m guessing he was referring to the actual practice of a gym doing something like that. I’m sure there is whatever statement in the gym contract that says that they can change access. I wouldn’t know. I just use the gym in my apartment.

In practice, most businesses will work to accommodate you if there is a change like this and you can’t adapt. Someone else mentioned that their gym has an app and it doesn’t work all the time and have to use fobs still. Most managers will work with a customer and take care of the few that need extra attention.

To add to this Science Vs did a podcast on the lack of affordable housing. It goes into the NIMBYs, the corporate ownership, local laws that make it hard to build multi-family units, and AirBnB. There are a lot of different factors and it might take time to see the results of fixing it because of this.

If people were upset with that then they missed a lot of foreshadowing. “When a Targaryen is born the gods flip a coin.”

I hated it because it felt rushed. They were tying up years long storylines too quickly because they wanted a piece of the Star Wars money. This led to them rushing through way too many stories and had the end result not make sense with a lot of other storylines. They ignored personal growth of the characters we followed just to get them to the ending that B&W wanted. That was my beef anyway.

I agree with the “not getting all these labels” but they aren’t really for me. I’m not out trying to find someone to date or bang or whatever.

I was having a conversation with some co-workers last week about the difference between bisexual and pansexual. I might have been wrong in my explaination. I’m a straight white man (so my knowledge is limited), but I’m usually more open than my (normally older) co-workers. They didn’t understand the need for it, or why it mattered. I said well apparently LGBTQ people had enough interactions to need a new word. If you aren’t dating or in that world then you wouldn’t understand the need for a more detailed definition of Bi vs Pan.

For the record they just thought it should all be lumped under Bi with no need for an extra trans inclusion word since (in their mind) trans was already included.

I got back into comics when Hickman “soft-booted” the X-Men with Krakoa. Now they are on the “Fall of X” storyline, post Krakoa. It is indeed a exciting and great time. I’m enjoying it.

There are a lot of LGBT characters and I feel they are treating them like real people or real mutants anyway instead of just it as an after thought. Most teams or books have at least one LGBT identifying individual on it, but most are in relationships, so they dive into that. I am a straight white man though so I probably have blind spots somewhere.
