Are there testable demos for alternative game engines?
Hello everyone.
I am getting interest in alternative game engines like Open3D Engine, Godot, Flax, Stride, Bevy, etc...
But I'm surprised how hard it is to find any "playable" demos of these. The only things I was able to find were screenshots and videos, but no proper executable that shows off their performance...
Do you know any demo for any alternative engine (by alternative, I mean, not Unreal or Unity) ?

October is always filled with new games and this year is no different. Heres the list so you know what is coming this month and if it is for you. . Starting with the title Scorn, coming on October 3, 2023. If you like creepy environments, suspense, heavy atmosphere, and an obscure that you need to search kind of story then you will have a blast with this game. . Right after that, on October 4, 2023, an old legend will return from the depths of the Underworld with a very cell shady fresh new paint. Im talking about the new game Hellboy Web of Wyrd. . Je me suis lancé il y a un moment sur F-Zero Maximum Velocity sur GBA, et je pense en avoir fait le tour.
Vraiment génial, j'ai passé un excellent moment sur ce jeu, dont j'ai trouvé la difficulté particulièrement bien dosée et progressive.
On galère au début, on fini par maitriser +/- le circuit au bout de 2-3 essais, et on recommence à chaque nouveau mode de difficulté débloqué.
J'ai particulièrement adoré le côté "shonen" qui se dégage des courses.
On se fait très vite dépassé au 1er tour car on a pas de boost, et ensuite on remonte progressivement tous nos adversaires tour après tour grâce à ces fameux boosts (on en gagne 1 par tour terminé).
Je me suis arrêté au mode "master" (bien qu'ayant débloqué la coupe "cachée" Queen), mais tout était vraiment très réussi (l'OST <3).
Je le préfère peut-être même à l'opus Snes, c'est dire :p.

It says something about the current relationship of large corporate apps and users when Slack makes an update - of particular annoyance is that the search bar at the top basically eats the entire border now making it impossible to move the window around unless you make the window sufficiently large - and my immediate thought is “this must have been deliberate in order to make sure Slack takes up as much of my screen as possible.”
It’s hard for me to think of a legitimate reason for how massive that search bar is and why it is so damn close to all the edges at the top making the window virtually immovable unless you greatly expand it.
Yeah, as soon as it auto-refreshed to the new design, I immediately hit the “Give feedback on the new design” link and expressed my displeasure to the void.
There is nothing I like about the redesign. Nothing. Everything about it makes the experience worse, and it looks like they threw widgets in a bag, shook it up, tossed it on a canvas, and they landed where they landed.
Starfield's second update fixes infinite money puddles, but not flying cities.
I've read several comments here and elsewhere that Bethesda's Starfield is "a mile-wide but deep as a puddle", or variations on that theme. Said commenters might be tickled to know that there is, in fact, a puddle in the game's Akila City that contains infinite loot: by dint of peering into it, you'll magically gain access to a nearby store's inventory. Strip the shelves, then wait a day or two, and you'll be able to do so again, forever and ever. Or at least, that was the case till this week's Starfield patch, a small update consisting of exactly ten bulletpoints, including one that tackles "an issue that allowed for a vendor's full inventory to be accessible". Boo! Time to go looking for another convenient in-game metaphor, I guess. Perhaps there's something incredibly clever you can say about all the flying cities.
Okay #retrogaming - I got Kodi set up on my #nvidia#shieldtv with the internet archive game launcher... and I just re-re-remembered that my beloved #steamcontroller won't work with it... I have no idea why I keep forgetting this.
I'm looking for 4 cheap bt controllers but the market is flooded... any #suggestions ?
Ha ha, to each their own, for me it was one of the worst controllers I’ve ever used, and using the SC reminded me a lot of it and I also never could get comfortable with the trackpads regardless of how much I tried to force myself to use it in different genres of games. I’m glad you enjoyed them though! Maybe look for a larger controller if there more comfortable to you while you’re on your hunt.
