China has been accused of dumping cheap electric cars on EU countries. But poor sales, price wars and tariff threats have prompted a mood change among some Chinese auto producers....
All Chinese companies, public or private, are required to have worker democracy. They have better required benefits than I do in the US, including maternity care, sick time, overtime pay, and a lower retirement age. If you support not trading with the US and India at all, I will acknowledge your consistency, but it seems to me that it’s likely you’re operating off of outdated information.
The 3DS Pokémon games are so much better than the newest ones on switch, it’s crazy. I recently got the two newest mainline games on switch to play with my little brother, and it’s just so bad compared to my long running play throughs of White2 and Y.
Looks pretty awesome. I have a Pocket, so I likely won’t pick this up, but anything that’s reviving the GB scene is a good thing to me. Though, for $200, you’d think it would have the ability to play GBA at least.
Naps. I sleep like 6-8 hours a night usually, and then I take a nap basically as soon as I get home. I find I have more functional time this way, even when I end up sleeping more than 9-10 hours, because I’m more refreshed and ready to go.
It’s honestly one of the best headsets on the market. I can’t wait for this to be finalized, and then for OpenVR to pick up and improve it. I’ll finally replace my Samsung Odyssey Plus, which, despite having terrible tracking, has an AMOLED, which makes such a massive difference in VR that I don’t really enjoy playing headsets without it even if they’re technically better.
alt-textIt blows our hivemind that the United States doesn’t use the ISO 216 paper size standard (A4, A5 and the gang). Do Visa, Mastercard, etc, not charge transaction fees in Europe? The only place I’ve been where there’s no transaction fees paid by the vendor is China.
I mean charging the vendor a processing fee, not the vendor charging the customer for the credit card fee. That’s actually illegal in the US, though businesses can offer a cash discount, they can’t charge fees for using cards if they accept them. When I ran my business our card handler charged 3. something percent on every transaction with card, higher for credit than debit.
Definitely not 40 hours use, but I get about 20 out of it, unless I’m doing something particularly heavy. Like, I tested BG3 on it for shits and giggles, and got better performance than my 2070 machine, but it drained my battery by over 50% in Les than an hour
I still don’t know how it happened, but my oldest little brother and I had this pair of walkie-talkies that would pick up this adult dudes phone conversations regularly on a specific channel, and we would troll him so hard. I kinda feel bad now, but not really because it’s a great memory.
That explains why everything after taken king felt like garbage, they didn’t have their creative to steal from anymore and ran out of his ideas. Destiny 2 from the start was a terrible game and it only got worse over time. Then they stole the entire game people originally paid for and gave them nothing in return and I never played it again.
China has begun its second day of military drills targeting Taiwan, in what it says is punishment for “separatist acts” after the inauguration of its new president on Monday....
I’m not in tech, I’m in manufacturing, and I’ve become trapped in my job because wages in the industry have gone down by about 10% in the last year. Thankfully I’m grandfathered in from the relatively high wage I got in the post covid wage rises, but my raises have been sub inflation two years in a row. Even going by the entirely bullshit official government inflation numbers, my real wage has gone down since I started.
Prices on housing and food are so sky high, that I can’t even get approved for a one bedroom apartment or studio despite making $60k, because they’re charging 55% of my after tax wage per month. I don’t live on the coasts, either. The job I came from before this was paying me $21/hr, and is now offering $16/hr, which is literally less than Taco Bell and just above minimum wage. Food and other transient monthly costs are so high now that after feeding my family and paying my bills, I’ll be able to save about $3k this year, down from 8.5k last year.
It’s not no matter what. It’s under the system we have they are not only not punished for doing so, they are heavily incentivized to do so. There are ways to punish bad actors that de-incentivize other potential bad actors, our politicians actively choose to prioritize these bad actors ability to do harm over the well being of the population.
PS3 is the only Sony console not to have significant backwards compatibility support on newer lines of their product. PS2 played all PS1 games, 3 played all PS2 and PS1 games at first, then all PS1 games after redesign. PS5 plays all PS4 games. There’s no reason to believe PS6 or whatever won’t play PS5 and likely PS4 games also.
This is rather old news, predating Neuralink entirely even. There used to be an unlisted YouTube video by Gray(Grey?) Newell that showed off what they were working on back a few years ago, too.
The best controller I arguably thing is the 360 controller. It just feels right to use in fighting games and fps. I like xboxs layout with the analog sticks....
Xbox Series X controller with added ExtremeRate back paddle kit.
For PC games:
og Steam controller
Most of the time I use the Dualsense Edge though, because I rarely use controller on pc and almost never turn on my Xbox.
I play most of my 2d games on purpose built retro handhelds, so there’s no real separate controller to speak of, but I do love pretty much all of them in different ways.
Community hosted servers worked pretty damn well for a very long time, and aren’t reliant upon large amounts of infrastructure to continue being playable. In fact, I can still go play almost every game from that era that was good enough to maintain a player base without issue. Deep Rock Galactic seems to do alright without matchmaking, for a more modern game.
The developers can host a few servers, sure, that’s an option. If that’s the method they take, they also release what’s known as a dedicated server utility, that allows anyone to launch a dedicated server on their machine, or to rent out a server in a hosting center. You can find this model in games such as Counter-Strike, Quake, Unreal, and some of the Battlefields.
This allows for the community to self police, and people will naturally end up in a community that fits their preferences, and rude or toxic players will quickly find themselves banned from the majority of servers and be forced to change their behavior or play a different game. Players can modify server settings, or make entirely new game types that the developers may not have thought about or wouldn’t have the resources to create, and people can create tools that allow servers to easily moderate their servers, and elect moderators and admins from within the community for when they’re not online. This also allows for developers to negate the need to be able to host millions of players, and when the game dies, if it does, all they have to host is a Master Server list.
——
Another option, especially for games with small groups of people is to allow the game to be hosted live by one of the players in the squad or group. This is called peer-to-peer servers. In this case, and can either be done by “hosting” the game server and waiting for or inviting players, or by having the game monitor latency and automatically migrate to the best host based on connection and distance. Deep Rock uses the first of these two options, whoever starts the game becomes the host, and stays that until they close the server or quit the game. In this instance, devs host no servers except the master server list, allowing even the smallest of devs to be able to handle millions of people playing their game simultaneously without any real increase in their server costs.
Typically, for smaller squad based games, like Deep Rock, this is the better option, while for larger player per match games like battlefield, the former is the better option. In both instances, players choose from a list of available servers in a menu and load in from there. You can check out Deep Rock Galactic or the Diablo 2 Remaster to see what a server list looks like.

I heard they’re having to hire retired people for security for the Olympics because all the unions are boycotting them over the retirement law macron pushed through. There’s also the fact that the river the Olympians are supposed to swim in is dirty and polluted. Also major plans for labor actions to shut down the airports and other places. They’re throwing students out of student housing to house the athletes. The people who are supposed to make the medals are on strike, so there will be no medals for the athletes. They’re trying to get students to drive the subways because the subway workers are planning on striking. It’s going to be a shitshow, and no one should go and support the Olympic Games unless they plan on being stuck in Paris.
Cool, thanks for telling me. I never really got into mobas, even back in the Dota 1 days, so I didn’t start hearing about LoL until it blew up and my friends were trying get me to play.
It’s not just Netanyahu, it’s most of the government. Even the majority of Israeli citizens support the “war”, and are only protesting because they haven’t returned the hostages yet.
Great man theory in action. It’s not Netanyahu. He’s a symptom of the wider bigotry in Israeli society. Read South Africa’s complaint to the ICJ. Many, many, many members of their government are in full support of this genocide. Even the citizenry majority support the “war”, they’re just mad the hostages haven’t been returned yet.
I’ve been thinking of how we could revive the “Hey, Hey LBJ, how many kids did you kill today” chant but with Biden, and your comment reminded me to think more on it.
If they changed the story even a little bit, it wouldn’t be the D2:R treatment. D2:R is literally the exact same game with better graphics, and the option to swap back to the OG graphics at any time.
That they got caught, and they were a lot more intelligent than MTG, so I’d expect her to do the same by now. She’s a useful idiot, not a Russian agent.
Nope, she’s pretty dumb, I doubt she knows what those words even mean. Wonder why they’re not tapping her phone like they do to normal citizens who have committed no crimes. They might find out where she’s getting these ideas.
I mean, yeah a non-Russian agent could definitely do that, what Ukraine is doing is fucked up. That said, no way in hell she knows wtf that means or where Transcarpathia is, so that’s pretty damning for sure. They should tap her phone like they do to the rest of us normies and find out where she’s getting it from.
