Concerning the language issue, it does not matter that a language is “globally niche”.

If people want to migrate to a specific country long term, the spoken language has to be learned to become a member of society and prevent the forming of parallel societies.

Whilst I agree with some of your points, the notion that Europe “may be bad at migration” and being “shit” to others whilst protecting their culture comes of as uninformed at best and holier than thou preachy at worst.

No one is under the illusion that a migrant has to speak perfectly. But they should be competent enough to function in order to integrate into the society.

I have plenty of experience in my social circle where this is not the case. Those people rely on friends and family when it comes to simple tasks such as doctor appointments.

Now you are just misinterpreting my points and starting to sound silly.

Refugees and migrants are two different groups. Migrants are long term residents. Refugees are not.

The fact that it is common does not mean it is a good practice.

IF there was decent AI translation, the whole issue would not be existant, would it?

I am quite happy to be able to discuss with you in a foreign language, without the help of AI. It means I am independent, which is a kind of freedom that, to me, belongs to feeling human.

This reads like a horrible idea. The new series is doomed to fail!

The PS2 is the best Sony system to me.

Back when it came out, it was so much better than everything else up to this point.

This, coupled with many games that started fanchises and/or were highly stylish and creative, and had new Equipment (GuitarHero, SingStar, EyeToy) make it the GOAT.

One side clearly is the aggressor here. To pick their side is not a good look and makes other countries question China’s intentions.

Played alot of the original on PC and then even more when VF4 came out on the PS2.

Back when it was VF vs Tekken, VF was my choice as I did not like the Tekken mechanics.

My favourite 3d fighting series has to be DoA though.

So if I am reading this correctly, the problem is that UK students are not interested in going abroad (weak foreign language skills) and many Continental European students want to come to the UK (as almost everyone is learning English).

This means the UK has to pay more money than it receives.

But with this money, they would be ‘buying’ the chance to hold the interest of highly educated young people, who might love the British way of life and come back to work in the UK…

Sounds like just another step into economical and cultural irrelevancy.

Oh man, the first gaming system I can vividly remember playing.

Rocky was my jam.

OutRun and the Shooting Gallery were a close second and third.

Well, who could have seen it coming?

Just about anybody, would be my guess.

I bought the PSVR1 at launch back in 2016, excited to finally BE in a virtual world. And for some games, I was absolutely blown away by the immersion. Skyrim, Dirt and RE were awesome in VR. Especially Skyrim was everything I was looking for.

I waited and hoped for more true games but all that kept coming was mostly short ‘experiences’ that felt like early 2000s shovelware, just in VR.

The best VR games were not Sony games but mostly third party games remade for VR.

When the PSVR2 came out, I decided to wait and see if Sony had learned their lessons and had at least many deals with third party studios to remake existing games in VR.

For now, it does not look that way, and a few exclusive tech demo games and some years-old PC ported games just do not justify buying a PSVR2.

Shouldn’t the hats and slogan say MAGAA this time?

I mean, Trump had 4 years already.

European view here, with a question:

I understand the US has always stood by Israel. Some reasons geopolitical, some religious and some business related.

Wouldn’t every president who would actively block military or financial aid to Israel or even whisper the word sanctions be a pariah in his own government?

How would the media react?

How would the big players and decision makers in politics, religion and business react?

HerrVorragend,
@HerrVorragend@lemmy.world avatar

If you think the US stance torwards Israel would change just one bit under Trump, you are very mistaken.

Recommend a game for me to play with my partner

My partner and I occasionally play games together, but they pretty much only play word puzzle games on their own. I’m not very good at word games though, and they don’t have very good spatial skills, so we frequently find ourselves mismatched. We have a switch and a single decent gaming pc, and a pretty old laptop....

My partner is no gamer, but when it comes to playing together, she enjoyed:

Pokemon: Lets Go Pikachu

Diablo 3

Kingdom Two Crowns

Man, hearing the first second of that Tom Petty song had me super excited for a game set in the 80s or 90s…
