Efforts by Israel’s intelligence agencies to undermine and influence the international criminal court (ICC) could amount to “offences against the administration of justice” and should be investigated by its chief prosecutor, legal experts have said....

*She's lucky AF if you ever read up on Mossad tactics.

*Corrected.

Maeve,

Corrected, thank you!

Maeve,

Alphabet is a huge supporter of Israel, and Google employees were fired for making their displeasure known for Google's uncritical support of a genocidal, illegally occupying nation state. Not surprising, to me.

Why is Nikki Haley scrawling genocidal messages on Israeli bombs? | Moustafa Bayoumi (www.theguardian.com)

…on Tuesday, the former Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley was all over social media for a picture taken of her during a visit to Israel. In the picture, Haley – the one Republican who had been frequently lauded for her smarts on foreign policy – is seen squatting down in front of a row of Israeli artillery...

No she's really like that. A first gen double minority eta: American, former teacher, former Sikh Did nothing for women except mostly performative domestic violence law tweaks, nothing for schools or teachers, nothing for minorities or immigrants. Married decently, got hers, the rest of y'all need to bootstrap it. Oh we stole your boots? They're really ours because we allow you to exist. Fealty, peasants!

Maeve,

That's not so stupid if you've ever been on an industrial construction site. People have died with rebar through skulls, stomachs, viral organs.

The last panel is probably meme material, NGL.

Maeve,

Your reply made me laugh. My imagination needs work!

Maeve,

Taking a moment to thank the creators of Lemmy, who get boatloads of abuse and zero appreciation from the commie/tankie haters. I don't always agree with their politics, I do on enough, but fact is, none of us would be here, without them.

European diplomats warn Rafah strike could lead to strict interpretation of ICJ ruling (www.haaretz.com)

Maeve,

Even Google translated it to "girls".

Maeve,

Yeah it also gave the times a high credibility rating. I still check things there, but take that as a starting point, not an end all.

Maeve,

I meant the Times of Israel. And wrt the NYT, they aren't particularly credible on certain topics. Sorry just taking a quick break from my work, and I'm not entirely with the subject, but your inquiry is valid, so I wanted to not ignore you.

Maeve,

It's not always the journalists' fault. Ultimate responsibility, regardless of fault, lies with the editor.

That said, most large news organizations are beholden to monied interests, and ethical journalism is all but dead, excepting a very few independent news sources that don't rely heavily on all would -be advertisers or donors.

Maeve,

Iraq the second time, too.

Maeve,

Very welcome, my friend! Thank you for asking!

Maeve,

Is this where "bit his head off" saying originated?

Israel Responds to Move to Recognize Palestinian State by Withholding Funds (www.nytimes.com)

Maeve,

Hi can you point me to more information wrt Nalvany assertion, please? Tyia

Maeve,

Oh wow. That's not good. Thank you for the reference and quick reply.

Maeve,

Yeah. I'm kind of embarrassed I didn't even think of Wikipedia. I just figured anything relevant would be not there or held in "talk."

Maeve,

Not when you play all sides.

Sticky trick: new glue spray kills plant pests without chemicals (www.theguardian.com)

The insect glue, produced from edible oils, was inspired by plants such as sundews that use the strategy to capture their prey. A key advantage of physical pesticides over toxic pesticides is that pests are highly unlikely to evolve resistance, as this would require them to develop much larger and stronger bodies, while bigger...

Maeve,

Separately, officials for Germany’s lower house of parliament, the Bundestag, said the legislature had lifted the parliamentary immunity of AfD member Petr Bystron.

United States could take a lesson or few, here. Sorry, I know this isn't about that and am not trying to hijack the thread; I just can't help but notice glaring differences when both major parties are dumpster fires.

Maeve,

The real irony is that the self proclaimed patriots are literally traitors.

The parallels are staggering.

Maeve,

Your posts are the ones most likely to warm my heart, make me smile or even literally lol. This one did all three. Thank you, my friend. <3

Maeve,

This whole thread was awesome. Thanks, feddies! Sincerely, a real female (way too old to call myself a girl, but in threads like this, I feel like one!)

Maeve,

Very welcome! Thank you, too!

Maeve,

Thanks! I guess if I'm honest, I'm old, but my mind kind of flip-flops on whether it is old, so I usually opt for "female" when not assuming age (mine or anyone else's. Some women get nasty when you use a term that isn't their preferred category--and in my area, have the nerve to be offended when someone has preferred pronouns!).

Tldr I'm a kid at heart.

Maeve,

Hah! In another thread, I caught dune flack for saying "female." Thanks.

Maeve,

Lol. Whatever works!

Maeve, (edited )

I mean, you'd have to taste it for yourself. I didn't like it but you may, you know?
