Normally im biased against Microsoft, but bro they warned for at least 3 years about this and now people are mad… Thats just idiotic. And i absolutely understand Microsoft deleting the Old stuff as its probably a security risk. Migration Took 5 minutes when you didn’t have a MS account… 1 if you had. There is nothing to be mad about now.
Bro its not bootlicking to say its a legitimate interest to delete stuff that could lead to lawsuits and is a security risk. Its also not bootlicking to say that they where warned repeatedly for at least 3 years now. You are just stupid.
It is. A good database is waaay less expensive and not a security risk. Microsoft is a company operating in areas with privacy laws, a leak could cost millions of completely unnecessary compensation.
Its illegal. Its absolutely illegal. Also the people most likely have a MS account and just don’t want to link it. And Microsoft cant make new accounts for them automatically.
Bo this wouldn’t be but you got reminded to change to a MS account every login and now they finally killed the risky database.
As said, it would be illegal to intercept the inputs into the login fields and it would be an pretty unreasonable amount of work as the passwords are usually hashes when they leave the pc they come from.
Why would they do this? They would give away free copies to possible scammers (if the email is lost) they told you for 3 years to connect ot to a ms account of your choice, if you didn’t thats on you. Also you got a cape for it.
(the “im owning minecraft longer than you live” cape to be specific)
Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest begins later this week and people around the world are excited to see all the trailers and teasers. And a new report, corroborated by Kotaku, reveals the high price it costs publishers and devs to show their games at the event....
Most people won’t in the foreseeable future. LLMs are in a feedback loop and eat their own outputs, making them effectively worse at what they are doing over time. Also they are a gigantic risk factor.
Nah, you can already sell accounts and they do nothing, this is just the support saying that they cannot give your data to others, this is to please two kinds of people, the privacy guys and the people selling on steam. They however do not enforce. Also its questionable if this sentiment holds up in court, there have for example been cases in Germany where Facebook was forced to give access to the parents of a deceased, so questionable.
Valve is the only company i trust to handle my games. Them being bought by Microsoft would ruin their entire business and would probably not happen because Cartel offices have to say something about that.
Yeah when something is available cheaper there shure but besides that i trust valve more and don’t buy from anywhere besides ich.io steam or gog, depending where its available/cheapest
Valve is easily more valuable than any other gaming company just steam itself is. Also Gabe hates Microsoft, he wouldn’t sell for all the money in the world at gunpoint.
They could just make the update reversible, many mods probably don’t get updated and are dead now. And its basically for nothing. Just because of a “next gen” update that doesn’t do anything mods didn’t do better before.
