Moghul,

You get several larval tears in the early areas. If you’re out at night, you can find little glowing cemeteries with larval tears in them.

I myself have respec’d my character, and have had to give up a few incantations that I used to rely on, but now that I have more of the blessings, they’re finding their way back into my repertoire. Thinking back, I’m not as convinced anymore that the incantations were the problem, it’s very likely that I just didn’t have enough blessings.

I took down a certain knight in a tomb who wielded a repeating crossbow and a greatsword. It took me maybe 30 tries with 0 blessings. I wonder how many tries I would need with 11.

I’m a huge Dark Souls and Elden Ring fan, but there’s no excusing Fromsoft’s code quality. Under no circumstances should someone be able to execute invalid code on someone else’s machine. I’m a software dev myself and the sheer ingenuity of effects ‘hackers’ can implement is astounding to me. Co-op is also just terrible, IMO. Unreliable, buggy, and kind of unrewarding that you have to do everything once for every participant. Performance has never been all that good, but it’s almost expected for console ports nowadays, which I wish was not the case.

They did update the requirements on pc. I’ve had to take my game down from high to high with motion blur off and lower quality water and shadows. I hope they make improvements.

I am one of those people who prefers that the game only has one difficulty. My friend and I both played Phantom Liberty, and unfortunately he didn’t enjoy it as much as I did because at higher difficulty he struggled too much with combat in a way he didn’t find fun. I could argue my point for a while but I doubt I’d achieve anything.

I can see your point on balancing. A great deal of mobs (not even bosses) in the dlc early game can poise or recover from a heavy blow too fast (not talking about damage). It’s almost like they’re tuned for greatswords and greataxes. That’s fine for me, I didn’t mind the respec, but other people do.

As for the difficulty in the DLC, it is more difficult, but IMO not as bad as it’s made out to be. Early (for me) in the day yesterday I heard people were fighting Messmer, and some have even beaten the final boss. Fucking how? You could only have done that if you did a boss rush and no exploration. People did not play the game and did not have the skills to play the way they were trying.

Whatever levels you have in the base game, they are nearly irrelevant until you get to about your 5th blessing. People need to run around and find those upgrades. I wonder if people even know that some random mobs drop them.

Moghul,

As I said I don’t think I’d achieve anything by arguing my point. Imo single difficulty is or should be part of the genre. It’s totally ok for others to also just not play it at all.

Moghul,

It definitely shows some bosses we haven’t seen before, and the narration hints at what the story might be, or at least the surface level that represents this character’s narrative. For the most part, it’s a bit like watching the original release trailer.

You don’t need to watch it to know, it is fucking epic. I am hyped beyond all measure. We are so fucking back.

Moghul,

I think all we know is you have to have beaten

spoilerRadahn and Mohg

to get in.

Moghul,

I doubt they’d make a dlc you can accidentally lock yourself out of. People would lose their minds. Maybe accidentally as a bug.

Moghul,

Have they done that before? I don’t remember it off the top of my head.

Moghul,

That’s not the game locking you out of stuff, that’s you being stuck in a portion of the game. Totally different. ER did that too, with the trap teleport chests. Usually you have to fight your way out. If you’re underleveled, it’s going to be an ordeal, but it is doable.

Moghul,

It was pretty rough getting out of the Sellia Crystal Tunnel at like lvl 20. The pest threads catch up pretty fast and I had no hp.

Mind you, I did do it. Then I came back and got my vengeance.

Moghul,

Isn’t this a free update that comes at the same time as the dlc?

Moghul,

II always thought this would be the case. BB console exclusivity is a Playstation problem, not a FS problem. It’s the same for Demon Souls.

Moghul,

100% agree

Moghul,

If the temptation gets to be too much, Ratatoskr has a 5 minute spoiler free video about some things you can expect to see. No mention of the story, who the bosses are, etc. Just some soul level recommendations, some new weapon info, boss count, map density and dlc size. Hope that tides you over.

My friend didn't have a great experience with Linux

I have been daily driving Linux for over two years now and I have switched distros many times. So, when my friend bought a new laptop, I convinced him to install Linux Mint on it. I asked him if he wanted to dual boot, he said no because it would fill up all his storage. We installed Linux Mint. The other day, he wanted to play...

Moghul,

I have an Nvidia GPU and aside from the occasional lemon of a driver, I’ve had no issues (to be sure, I don’t use Wayland). I play games through Proton just fine. MHW, Elden Ring, Hunt Showdown, BG3, etc. Unfortunately the games he picked are borked or not listed on protondb. Not sure about Minecraft though, I used to play that just fine.

Moghul,

Same as any other illegality. It’s legal until you get caught. The account will work fine until for one reason or another it becomes obvious you’re not the original owner of the account, and then it’s banned. Billing changes, location changes, ip changes, confession, etc.

Moghul,

But imagine if the original owner bought Skyrim, and then you have to buy it again if you want to play it. Two Skyrim moneys!

Moghul,

We’re not even remotely close to one of the oldest, lmao. Take crocs, coelacanths, horseshoe crabs, etc

Moghul,

Nice one

I'm finally getting the hang of Sekiro

I’ve been playing this game off and on, starting over since it came out. I was a hardcore Bloodborne player, but also played a lot of elden ring and ds3. Sekiro never clicked, I thought it was slick and the action felt incredible but I just couldn’t get past the beginning. Finally I’ve broken through and am having a blast,...

Moghul,

In my admittedly limited experience, LLMs don’t make that many grammatical mistakes. This is likely just bad work from a human.

Moghul,

Don’t you have google? I kinda wish the other user hadn’t answered you.

Moghul,

The judge who approves it has to have some serious reasons. He’s a foreigner, wealthy, and accused of serious crimes. You don’t get held for months for stealing a loaf of bread. You can also only be held while evidence is being collected pending a trial.

It does suck that law enforcement worldwide can pick you up off the street, fuck up your afternoon/day/week/month/life and then just say ‘oops, you’re alright’. If you have a better way, you’d be a revolutionary mind.

Moghul,

The discord snap is basically unusable for me so that’s the only way I can have discord installed. I’ll probably switch away from kubuntu next time if it inherited this problem.

Moghul, (edited )

Does that have auto updates? It’s kind of annoying to download debs every week.

I’m not super well versed, I’m a Linux casual.

Moghul,

I’ll see if I can enable it in Discover and run updates through that. Thanks for the tip.

Moghul,

I don’t really expect a business to be forced to run a game in perpetuity, but at least they shouldn’t be allowed to C&D you from doing it if they aren’t.

Moghul,

I’m a developer. It’s work to do anything, code doesn’t grow on the LLM tree yet. That’s a feature that would have to be implemented. Anything you ask the business to put effort in is a negative to the cause (and the cause is good), something for the businesses to latch onto to stop the law from changing.

The best argument you can make is ‘let us figure it out, just don’t sue us’. Anything else you get is a blessing.

Moghul,

There was a bunch of art inside, people even ran in to save some: dr.dk/…/folk-loeber-ind-i-braendende-boersen-redd…

Paste the link into google translate.

Moghul,

No problem

Moghul,

Nope. Usually these games share servers across all platforms. That’s how a lot of games get crossplay. Sometimes shit gets fucked up and people can accidentally crossplay.

Moghul,

Pretty sad to see this kind of attitude. The problem IMO is buying with the intent to rent, and companies owning too much property. I rent, but I don’t think that if you inherit something you’re immediately a bad person until you sell it. Or if you bought something while single, once you move in with a significant other you’re a bad person. I wouldn’t have a problem renting from people like this either. There needs to be % cap on company rentals, and there needs to be a cap on private properties owned, but I don’t personally think the number has to be 1.

Owning more property and being richer than me doesn’t make someone automatically a bad person. People nowadays can only see black and white. We’re so frustrated and tired of dealing with shit that we can’t empathize with fellow human beings. Not everyone is a “real estate investment firm”.

Moghul,

I’m sure there are major issues with that idea as well, such as creating a rigid structure of sale and rental.

For example here, politicians made it very difficult to get kicked out if you rent a place for more than 2 years. You basically have to agree to move out. All that did is make virtually all landlords only lease for 2 years because it’s hard to get rid of a bad tenant after that. It’s a great thing if you can get it, but it sucks to have to move that often.

If you limit the % property for rent in a city, maybe companies will build turbo shit apartments (or extremely expensive apartments) for sale, and decent apartments for rent. The monkey paw is strong.

Moghul, (edited )

I gave 2 good reasons why someone would have a second home. If you mean purpose, not everyone who owns a second home rents it out, and not everyone who rents it out is doing it for fat profit.

My uncle owns 2 homes. One he bought with my aunt, and one he inherited. His brother lives in the second home for various reasons and his end of the deal is that he takes care of it. I have another uncle who bought a studio apartment with my aunt maybe 30 years ago, and they mortgaged a new apartment some years ago, when my cousin got too old to sleep in one room with them. They rent out the studio to college students for what I think is a fairly low price. One of them is now retired and they’ve got a good chunk more time to pay on that mortgage and prices have skyrocketed in their area. If shit goes south financially, they have a backup place to live in their old age.

I’m an immigrant myself and I can tell by the way prices are going here, I’m going to need to find a spouse to mortgage an apartment if I want to buy anything. I don’t think anyone in those situations is some kind of monster for not selling me their second home.

I think a remote vacation home or cabin or whatever is also a legitimate reason to own 2 properties. I also think hotels and motels fall under owned property, and I think those are legit too.

Like I said, IMO the problem is with people hoovering up properties specifically to inflate prices and to make profit by doing nothing. It’s rentseekers and bad landlords, not multi-home owners.

Edit: the relationships here read kinda weird. Both uncles are “by alliance”, married into the family. Of course, they both share ownership of the stuff they bought with my aunts, but idk how the inheritance works, and I’m not gonna ask. The way it’s phrased in the family is that he inherited that house in the countryside and his brother (which is like distant family to me I guess) lives there.

Moghul,

Of course, but who owns more… Idk what to call them. Second homes? Additional homes? And how long are they owned for? Who is causing the ‘shortage’ as it were? Is it people who own one or maybe two extra homes, or is it companies who own 10-story, village sized apartment buildings that they rent out? What about Airbnb property scoopers?

I don’t have an answer to that, and I’m guessing it differs by city, country, region. I’m not arguing everyone who owns a second home is an angel. I disagree with the thread source comment that paints all 2-home owners as evil.

Moghul,

I support that 100%

Moghul,

I would honestly enjoy a watch like that if it didn’t have 6768342 pieces of text on it. I’d rather have to read the manual and have a less cluttered looking watch. For now, I’ll stick to my automatic Seiko.

Moghul,

While learning Danish I figured out that’s just the arcane incantation for the number. It’s language juju, and you just have to know that it be like it do. Yes, it’s syv og halvfems, but the reason behind it doesn’t matter anymore. The rest of the double digit numbers are a mess as well; 30 is tredive (three tens in old norse) but starting with 50 it’s this weird score (20) and half-to-score system.

Moghul,

As a complete nerd and homebody I was really surprised to find out during lockdown that I needed and wanted time outdoors.

Moghul,

I paused a lot on quests like these.

If you don’t have the tech skills, you don’t know what the right way to fix the guy who thinks he’s someone else. Who knows what happens if you choose wrong. What do you do with the guy who stole that eye implant?
