PugJesus,

Why?

PugJesus,

It’s like Greece doesn’t understand what being part of a (mostly) united labor market with the EU means.

You have to offer better standards, not worse, to retain labor

PugJesus,

A lot of reasons, but deeply rooted incompetence and graft in the government is a big one. A culture of tax evasion, lack of enforcement of laws on the private sector, and a lack of investment in improving industrial practices (leading to low productivity per hour worked compared to countries that DO keep up-to-date) also contribute.

PugJesus,

She said: “It’s really important to recognize that some of these things, especially with such historical and cultural value to an entire country and people – you can’t really put a number on that.”

God it makes me so happy when people respect the value of history.

PugJesus,

One hopes the powder doesn’t cause any lasting damage to a priceless piece of human cultural heritage.

PugJesus,

Wait, what on earth are you trying to do? Jump into the lava?

PugJesus,

Throw the switches on the forge. They release lava into the arena.

BG3 is pretty lenient in general, but I think your solution is really more of an open-world style kiting solution.

PugJesus,

The Romans: “Fabius the dictator (‘Speaker’)? More like Fabius the CUNCTator! (‘Delayer’)”

The Romans after getting their asses kicked by Hannibal 10 more times and realizing Fabius is the only sane man in the fucking country: “ONE MAN, BY DELAYING, HAS SAVED THE REPUBLIC”

PugJesus,

“Put that thought on hold for a little longer, would you? I have important things to not do.”

PugJesus,

Something like “one-upped”, I believe.

PugJesus,

Oh no. Xi saw through our dastardly reverse psychology. Now we have no choice but to watch him not invade our ally. How horrific.

PugJesus,

Just last week I have seen 3 dead dogs on the road and maybe 2 cats.

Jesus fucking Christ.

As an American, I’ve quite literally never seen a dead dog on the road. Only saw a dead cat once.

PugJesus,

Jesus. In VA, MD, DE, CT, and PA, I’ve literally never seen shit like that.

PugJesus,

I’ve lived in and around major cities, but never in the Midwest.

Fuck about a year ago or so I was driving home from work at 5am and there was a loose dog in the street. I pulled over, popped my door open, and it hopped inside and rolled over for belly rubs. Sweetest little thing ever, and if I had not been paying attention, it would have been a pancake.

Maybe I’ve always lived in places with good animal control. I couldn’t imagine stray dogs being let roam around in any of the places I’ve spent significant parts of my life. I once lived in a place that was regularly broken into, but God forbid there be a dog roaming around unattended.

PugJesus,

I know plenty of people who’ve hit deer, usually at night or early morning. Been in the passenger seat for a few of them. Just not dogs or cats.

PugJesus,

I tend to be aggressive because I find a lot of people playing apologist for Russia, often utilizing doublespeak and changing the tack of their argument when confronted, only to return to it later when the examination is less thorough, not only on here but also in person.

I apologize that I was too quick to assume motives in this case.

PugJesus, (edited )

A guy carrying waaaaay too many rocket launchers on foot.

PugJesus,

They made a post about not using ‘retard’ as an insult. It got caught up in a lot of discussion about whether lack of mental capacity itself is legitimate to use as an insult against people who are not mentally disabled (ie ‘moron’, ‘idiot’, etc).

PugJesus,

I don’t know how much I would actually pump up Old Bioware on that front, but yeah, the writing quality is actually something I noticed a few hundred hours in. The VAs and animators do such an amazing job that it can slip by for a while, but the writing, taken in isolation, is just kind of… acceptable.

PugJesus,

HIMARS is saving ukraine lives. That’s a good thing.

Many people on this platform disagree with that, unfortunately.

PugJesus,

I’m sure the Soviet Union would have disarmed in response, as seen by their holsum reactions to democracy in what-would-become-the-Warsaw-Pact

PugJesus,

It’s not like they’re arming queer people.

… this may come as a shock, but the US and its allies are the primary countries upholding LGBT rights in their own nations at this point in time.

PugJesus,

You do realize that the Warsaw Pact was created in direct response to NATO?

Did you miss the ‘what-would-become’ in ‘what-would-become-the-Warsaw-Pact’?

You… do realize that NATO was founded after the Soviets couped democracy in Czechoslovakia, right?

… right…?

PugJesus,

“Imagine believing that long-standing homophobia in other countries is caused by the US military becoming relatively queer-friendly 10 years ago”

PugJesus,

The INSTITUTIONS of the US in general aren’t responsible for the social progress in feminism and LGBTQ+ and racial issues,

Do you happen to know what the polling was for approval of interracial marriage at the time of Loving v. Virginia? Just curious.

PugJesus,

And they’re quite likely to back him when it comes to Ukraine, his grand plan to Europeify French strategic autonomy, all that stuff.

Are they? I’m no expert on French politics, but I always thought Melenchon was a big deal on the left there, and he is anything but EU or Ukraine friendly.

PugJesus,

Melenchon is definitely not in favour of Russia keeping Ukraine.

Isn’t he? Last I checked he opposed sending arms for Ukraine to defend itself, supported Russia’s annexation of Crimea, and said NATO was to blame for the war.

PugJesus,

Well, that’s good to hear, then!
