febra,

The US let its rabid dog off the leash again.

febra,

Or any other troops overall. War sucks. Many young people end up as cannon fodder.

Israeli officers tortured this doctor to death, then hid news of his passing for months (www.middleeasteye.net)

At the start of the Israeli war on Gaza, Dr Iyad, director of the Kamal Adwan hospital’s maternity department, refused to leave Gaza City, opting to stay with his patients and fulfil his humanitarian mission. But after a month of intense Israeli bombardment and siege, including the targeting of hospitals, he decided to take...

febra,

Nothing new for the apartheid entity.

febra,

As of today they’re also expanding deportations. If you are caught using banned slogans on social media such as from the river to the sea and you’re a foreigner you will get deported for “praising terrorism”. Some politicians argue that even as much as a like will be enough for the authorities to throw you out of the country.

And if you have double citizenship and you got your German one as of this year, they will be able to cancel your citizenship if you’re ever convicted of questioning Israel’s right to exist.

febra, (edited )

the phrase “from the river to the sea” is not illegal praise of terrorism in Germany, even if you may have heard so from your equally misinformed bubble

Oh yeah, my misinformed bubble, the official government press conferences: youtu.be/lBmDdNZmToU?si=rsLM5CyTSjEFxBTI&t=353

Or DW www.dw.com/en/…/a-69480819

I’ve seen people (including jews) getting fined for hate speech for an instagram story containing just “from the river to the sea palestine will be free” From now on, that will also come with a deportation.

The highly esteemed german courts will have the freedom to decide what fits into which context. A social media like will land you in court. Saying that hamas committed terrorist acts but also that it is a resistance movement spawned out of the oppression will also land you in a court because any nuanced discussion is too much for the german intellect and instantly means “pRaIsInG tErRoRiSm”.

I can’t wait to see all the neolibs that clapped when the greens and the social democrats passed these laws, when the AfD gets in power here (which will definitely happen sooner or later, following the EU wide far right movements) and when they decide to reinterpret those “contexts” their highly esteemed german courts like to discuss so much. I’m sure this draconian stuff won’t backfire. But hell, who cares, it’s only Ausländer getting the short end of the stick anyway.

febra,

Germany doesn’t recognize Palestine’s right to exist. It’s only fair Germany gets deported

febra,

And who represents Europe as a whole? Aryans?

febra,

Using the slogan “from the river to the sea” or posting the red triangle 🔻 will also count as praising terrorism. I’m not even joking. I watched the press conference where the government spokesperson confirmed this. As such they’ll be able to deport you for using “from the river to the sea” or for even liking a post using it.

febra,

Apparently not. Talk to our government officials. According to them “from the river to the sea” constitutes praising terrorism.

Here is the press conference, in German. The subject is discussed from the given timestamp (5:50) to around minute 20. youtu.be/lBmDdNZmToU?si=PqnNvXxDdyXkrbqN&t=351

febra,

Even more stupid regulation incoming

febra,

Look who’s using human shields now. The most moral army in the world.

febra,

The orders: “next time you commit war crimes don’t do it in front of the cameras!”

febra,

Yeah, while Israel has been invading and violating Lebanon’s airspace for much longer than they’ve been shooting rockets.

febra,

Yeah Israel should have been sanctioned a long time ago for their airspace invasions. If they proceed with a land invasion, they should be embargoed by the world.

febra,

I just said Israel should be sanctioned. I haven’t made one comment on whether the rockets were good or bad.

febra,

Yeah, by your own logic you can go one reply further and you’ll realize that you were trying to justify a land invasion of Lebanon.

febra,

Nazi shit. Bring back the gestapo already.

febra,

Nothing new. The apartheid state has been doing this for a long time, now they’re just ramping it up

febra,

I’m okay with buying chinese cars. I don’t care about the shitty, overpriced european car makers.

febra,

And it got attacked by a ton of fascists. The videos are horrible. Not only that, but due to security threats the parade had to be limited quite a lot.

febra,

Being queer in Russia is worse, that’s true. But I don’t see the point here. Ukraine has a lot of work left to do. One can’t always look at worse places and deflect the criticism. You could’ve very well mentioned Qatar or Brunei. Doesn’t make it any better.

Wikipedia declares Anti-Defamation League 'unreliable' on Israel, antisemitism: Report (www.middleeasteye.net)

Wikipedia’s editors voted to declare the Anti-Defamation League “generally unreliable” on Israel and Palestine as well as the issue of antisemitism, adding the organisation to a list of banned sources, according to a report by the Jewish Telegraph Agency (JTA)....

febra,

Because it is. The ADL is conflating antizionism with antisemitism, thus labeling even a ton of antizionist jews as antisemitic.

febra,

So he was tortured to death by the Israelis. He didn’t just “die” like that. He was tortured to death. Call it for what it is

febra, (edited )

The two-state solution has been dead in the water for decades now. It’s just a stupid carrot on a stick to prolong the status quo. Israel has allowed more than 700k settlers to move into the occupied territories. Good luck with your two-state solution. I want to see you get those 700k settlers out of there. Hell, even moving 30k settlers out of Gaza almost ended up in a complete shitshow with parts of the IDF rising against their own government. The only solution is a democratic, secular state where everyone has the same rights, from the river to the sea, and where both Israelis and Palestinians can live in peace. Of course, reparations will have to be paid to Palestinians for the decades of suffering the settler colony has imposed on them, and on top of that, investments to make up for the decades the Palestinians have been deprived of economic possibilities. It won’t be perfect, but it surely is better than trying to create a state in which 700k turbo settlers live in, most of which have a military background and surely won’t leave their homes just like that.

febra,

Does this mean they’ll soon get CIA support?

Chinese military harassed Dutch warship enforcing UN sanctions on North Korea, Netherlands says (www.cnn.com)

A Dutch warship was harassed by Chinese military aircraft in the East China Sea on Friday, the Netherlands said, becoming the latest country to accuse Beijing’s forces of initiating potentially unsafe encounters in international waters....

febra, (edited )

Why is North Korea under sanctions?

EDIT: People downvoting but I’m genuinely curious which exact sanctions the Dutch are enforcing here

febra,

AbdullahAl Jamal worked for Al Jazeera and published almost daily articles in English in the “Palestine Chronicle” since the beginning of the war. From the linked article.

Meanwhile Al Jazeera says that the guy only contributed on a single op-ed in 2019 and that’s the extent of it. Here is an archive link to their response archive.is/EDOCN. Not only that, but ynet seems to have cut out the part where Al Jazeera says that the guy contributed only on an op-ed in 2019.

Checking an archive from the 9th of June of Al Jazeera’s website seems to confirm this information: archive.is/RypQP

So, even if this guy had kidnapped/held a hostage, I don’t see the connection to Al Jazeera. Certainly not the connection that this article is trying to paint here. And don’t forget that the IDF hasn’t even confirmed if this guy even held any hostages.

I personally call bullshit. Either that or ynet are too incompetent to prove their claims that this guy wrote for Al Jazeera every day.

Or the title has been written like that on purpose to confuse people and conflate Al Jazeera with whatever this guy was writing god knows where else.

febra,

Just for your information, but Russia hasn’t been part of the USSR for over 30 years now. Also, Putin’s Russia is extremely different to the USSR, in that it is now ruled by far-right religious fanatics. I don’t think that would fit well into the USSR.

febra,

I’m from an Eastern European country that was USSR aligned and part of the Warsaw Pact. I don’t have an idealized image of the USSR, nor of the West. I just find it hilarious how people cling to anti USSR messages when there’s plenty of actual stuff to criticize about today’s Russia.

febra,

I’ve been paying lots of attention. I don’t need a westerner to tell me what to think about the place where I’m from. Based on your post history you’re Finnish. I don’t need your sense of superiority here. I know very well what I’m talking about, and you are entitled to disagree with that, but do not go on ad hominem attacks. If your points are so easy to understand and bring across, then do suit yourself and start going into the details already. Starting from my original point of criticism, do tell me how far-right religious lunatics would’ve fit into the USSR political class.

febra,

I have no idea what Gattsu is

Israel rescues 4 hostages taken in Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack, and 210 Palestinians are reported killed (apnews.com)

DEIR AL-BALAH, Gaza Strip (AP) — Israel on Saturday carried out its largest hostage rescue operation since the latest war with Hamas began, taking four to safety out of central Gaza amid the military’s heavy air and ground assault. At least 210 dead Palestinians, including children, were brought to local hospitals, a health...

febra,

Still a war crime. A deal has been on the table for weeks now. A deal that would’ve released all the hostages with zero Palestinian casualties.

febra,

University Network for Human Rights, the International Human Rights Clinic at Boston University School of Law, the International Human Rights Clinic at Cornell Law School, the Centre for Human Rights at the University of Pretoria, and the Lowenstein Human Rights Project at Yale Law School

Crazy. I never expected to see big Ivy League school names there but here we are. Even the most status quo and US aligned universities are now calling it a genocide.

febra,

A deal has been on the table for weeks now. A deal that would’ve released all the hostages and would’ve caused zero Palestinian deaths. I guess to the average Israeli one of their citizens goes for at least 50 Palestinians though.

febra,

Just for the next far-right shithead to take power in Israel.

febra,

Israel is USA’s spoiled brat. They’ve been violating international laws for decades now and no one dares touch them, otherwise Karen USA will start throwing a tantrum about it.

Have fun reading on how Israel has violated Lebanon’s airspace 22355 times since 2007.

Israel phasing out use of desert detention camp after CNN investigation detailing abuses | CNN (edition.cnn.com)

Israel has transferred hundreds of Palestinian detainees out of the shadowy detention facility of Sde Teiman in Israel’s Negev desert, a state attorney told Israel’s Supreme Court on Wednesday during a first-ever hearing about the facility where prisoners from Gaza have allegedly been held under conditions of extreme abuse....

febra,

The next concentration camps will be more concealed

febra,

Khan (ICC Chief Prosecutor) told CNN that an unnamed official had told him the ICC was “built for Africa and for thugs like Putin”.

Source (timestamped: 19:00) youtu.be/6BquEw4kNNE?si=xA2MKh03QAXkENvG&t=1140

febra,

What do you mean by “didn’t do his homework”? That “unnamed official” was clearly racist as fuck. Not sure about dumb, but definitely racist.

febra,

So many mayors have been shot and killed in Mexico over the last year but suddenly all of this is connected to the new female president elect? Who makes up these connections and why do they call themselves journalists

febra,

This might be somewhat unpopular with some people, but I don’t think Ukraine should involve itself in other countries’ civil wars, but I can see why they’d do that:

  1. they fight against Russian interests, and
  2. they get brownie points with the West for fighting against their enemies

Still not a huge supporter of that, though.

febra,

Russian military? Sure. Russians altogether? That’s a bit genocidal. They shouldn’t sink down to Putin’s level. Besides that, I honestly think that there are bigger geopolitic reasons to allow their soldiers to go fight in other places other than at home.

febra,

Apparently the guy requested to see and talk to an official but was repeatedly refused, so he went bonkers and threw a molotov cocktail at the building and then tried to set himself on fire.

febra,

So 6 weeks and then the genocide can continue?
