Least schizo Trump supporter behavior

108,

That is some good Christian behavior

snownyte,

If there was a God and if there was a Jesus, they’d be smoking these wanna-be christnots (new term I learned from somewhere) down to be smitten into all of the levels of hell in which they belong. Because if any of these fucknuts gave a single shred of care about their religion, they wouldn’t be doing this.

Just like all of them people who proclaim about how they’re about Law, Order, Patriotism, Independency, Truth and all that. These people are the representation of the bastardization of all of these values because the values they hold, aren’t universally applicable to the values everyone else agreed upon.

unreasonabro,

Ironically, even atheists are mostly down with the rules of this game, and can’t understand why the religulous STILL just don’t fucking get it.

kromem,

You mean the group that burnt down the Serapeum of Alexandria, and gouged out the eyes of Hypatia with seashells?

Yeah, this really seems a step too far for those guys.

BeautifulMind,
@BeautifulMind@lemmy.world avatar

At what point does this sort of thing stop being politics and start being organized crime? So now I halfway-hope the vigilantes that try to do this will end up facing criminal charges for it

But, I also halfway-expect cops and prosecutors to look the other way if the victims of this kind of crime ends up being the kind of people they’d be disproportionately policing and convicting anyhow

Esqplorer,

It literally already passed that point. The headline details the elements of a crime.

someguy3,

Yup this is about what I expected.

nifty,
@nifty@lemmy.world avatar

isn’t this something else that is illegal? It’s so irresponsible for Trump and GOP to constantly use bullying tactics to silence people. If something happens, Trump and GOP are responsible. These people have become full on terrorists

buzz86us,

It’ll only get worse if he is elected again

kmartburrito,

He’ll make sure he never leaves and picks his successor. It will literally be game over

GladiusB,
@GladiusB@lemmy.world avatar

I doubt it. There are far too many that will keep up with tradition. I do think he wants to do what you are saying though.

snownyte,

It’s only illegal if someone was doing it to them. But it’s not illegal if they’re doing it someone else. That’s how they function.

nifty,
@nifty@lemmy.world avatar

I was just looking at another thread where a newscaster is talking about GOP supporters owning 90% of guns. Why bring this is up if your intent isn’t literally terrorism? If something happens, who will be held accountable for inciting a mob? This is disgraceful

BigMacHole,

These people are TOTALLY NOT RACIST but think it’s ok when a Black Child gets gunned down for no reason but it’s NOT ok when a white guys gets found guilty in a court of law by a jury of his peers.

VeryImportantUser,

I propose: dox the Trump voters!

Everythingispenguins,

You can’t, they dox themselves, but you can throw eggs.

Luckily for Carmen Sandiego she can be anywhere in the world.

And time

“Miserable”.

Only takes one extremist in the bunch to do choose to do something violent.

twig,

I don’t disagree with the sentiment, but all of the people who are trying to hound juries are, in fact, extremists.

Smoogs,

Oh sure they are all for due process up until this.

fmstrat,

I could hear some guys in my neighborhood outside yesterday talking about how this won’t effect the election. One of them yelled out “Well at least the republicans are the ones with the guns!” Everyone just kinda got quiet and looked at him like he was an idiot.

Remember he’s not the only dangerous one. Every vote counts, and all of them are voting red.

ThirdWorldOrder,

My maga friend told me to stock up on food come November. Dude is fucking brainwashed by beanie man Tim Poole

barsquid,

Is Tim still pretending to be a “centrist” nowadays?

ThirdWorldOrder,

He says he’s left leaning with liberal tendencies 😂

InternetUser2012,

I worked with a guy who was appalled that I was buying go fast parts for my car instead of stocking up on guns and ammo for the upcoming war. He also had his neighborhood mapped out as to who are the democrats so he knows who to go after first. I asked him if he thought democrats don’t have guns too and he just stared at me. After a bit he just changed the subject to a racist rant about rap music.

ThirdWorldOrder,

They really love to change subjects a lot don’t they

@lennybird@lemmy.world avatar

For the longest time I thought this was solely a matter of education; but these days, I’m beginning to think such right-wing extremism is also a matter of mental illness.

Things like poor parenting, brain injuries from football, lead exposure from guns and motorsports, substance abuse, shitty diets, etc. – all culminate in a banner of people who are… Not of sound mind.

Saying this as a former rural Appalachian Republican from decades ago.

Edit: added “solely” for some clarification.

InternetUser2012,

I agree that a lot is mental illness but I think it’s more education. They fall for the lies and get in line and do what they’re told to do by sources like fox “news”. It’s scary how it’s changed, I had Republican friends that we could all hang out and even discuss politics with no problems. Now, we don’t talk at all, there is no discussion. I am the enemy and I don’t even care about politics, just be a good human. I don’t think you can be a good human and support the Republicans at this time, it’s gone off the rails.

lennybird,
@lennybird@lemmy.world avatar

You’re likely right that education is still the prevailing issue, but I think we need to get more specific on what kind of education people receive in terms of safeguarding against false rhetoric. Drilling in the logical fallacies, teaching ethics, and even teaching common propaganda techniques so you can identify them. We need to step back and ask ourselves how we managed to escape the rabbit hole when others could not.

The echo-chambers have become so ironclad that it’s so difficult to pierce through and drag someone out.

InternetUser2012,

That’s a good point. I would say having empathy and being a critical thinker would be a good start to escaping the rabbit hole.

beeple,

This is a great indicator that free will isn’t what we think. I’ve been chatting to maga family about free will through that “how we managed to escape the rabbit hole” lens. There’s often a lot of reasons we have different opinions and tracing the distributed causality is pretty fun because you can avoid the propoganda talking points but still make progress. I think it helps them question information or to be more guarded instead of immediately parroting fox news lines.

A_Random_Idiot,

Its just people miserable with their lot in life and that hate themselves, and wanting to blame someone else for it.

michaelmrose,

You should report him to the FBI and your work. The statement is enough to probably get him fired and with luck his gun horde will be illegal when the FBI comes knocking

InternetUser2012,

He’s gone (thankfully), and a few of the guys I work with did report him. I’m just waiting to see him on the news and all the people saying how they never saw it coming “he was such a nice guy”.

todd_bonzalez,

So you know who he is, and you expect him to commit an atrocity, but your plan is to just… let it happen?

Buddy…

InternetUser2012,

What do you want me to do? Shoot him first? He’s been reported by multiple people.

todd_bonzalez,

Including you, or is this the bystander effect?

zzx,

Bruh it sounds like he already brought it to the police. Lay off

Djtecha,

I’m sorry… But this seems like a guy to report

afraid_of_zombies,

There is a reason why I register as independent.

todd_bonzalez,

Wow, and what did the police say when you reported the guy with a kill list of his neighborhood?

InternetUser2012,

“We’ll look into it” - not holding my breath

Phegan,

Just when I think Tim Poole can’t get dumber, he proves me wrong and gets dumber.

ameancow,

Every fuckin time there is any large political story that doesn’t involve Trump being fellated, Tim Pool makes war-provoking tweets.

Which is wild because this is a dude who wouldn’t survive five minutes in a conflict.

funkless_eck,

no one is immune to drone bombs or sniper rifles. The best way to survive a conflict is to not be in it.

Sam_Bass,

Def not a repug but i do have a couple guns…for varmints

Everythingispenguins,

Are these those white ones I have around me? The ones that are out here tend to be pretty white around the head and neck, usually have a bright splash of red starting at the shoulders and moving down the back. I know mine can be big fuckers, some are pushing 300lbs. I have to get the tractor for those.

Lucky they aren’t very fast, but you really got to carefully, they tend to run in packs.

ameancow,

One of them yelled out “Well at least the republicans are the ones with the guns!”

Having grown up out in the boonies in a deeply conservative area and with deeply conservative parents, this kind of rhetoric is just like their fuckin bird calls to each other, they spout this machismo constantly about everything. If a redneck gets looked at weird for saying this, that’s a freak occurrence because these folks number in the millions.

someguy3,

May I remind you that Jan 6 happened. This ain’t just macho bs anymore.

vaultdweller013,

Ey now lets not associate Rednecks as a whole with these usually white trash welps. Some of us use their stupidity to note who we can jack a gun from in a worst case scenario.

hitmyspot,

Its already too late for them. The idea would be to scare future jurors. Its not like hell only face one jury.

Anyone calling for doxxing should be tracked down and arrested like the terrorist they are.

ChaoticNeutralCzech,

Cannot extra precautions be taken such as the jury connecting via video-conferencing from another room, with only the judge being able to see the screen?

maynarkh,

Then they get a judge like Cannon.

The problem is that the system also is of two minds on whether he’s above the law. Shit’s broken, and not because they can’t fix it. If this happened in e.g. Germany, Trump would already be behind bars (long before he’d have run for pres in the first place), and GSG9 would be looking for people terrorizing juries.

hitmyspot,

For jurors, seeing the defendant and witnesses live in person is part of the process. They assess body language as well as other things. Video link is helpful as a back up in certaain cases, eg for kids or victims of sexual assault who may be uncomfortable being in the room with their alleged attacker.

Isn’t it wild that it’s even considered dangerous to be a juror for an ex president. Yet some of his non violent followers still dont appreciate how damaging he is for democracy.

xmunk,

Gosh, I hope they were instructed not to carry cellphones into the courtroom.

worldwidewave,

They want to make sure that the next jury thinks twice about convicting. Truly chilling and completely unsurprising after Trump has been stoking them with lies every day.

BrianTheeBiscuiteer,

I would, and think it was a good idea both times.

FiniteBanjo,

I have basic amenities, I have a home, I have people who love me and would miss me, but what I don’t have in life is satisfaction that I’ve done the right thing and contributed more to society than I took away.

Convicting Trump every single opportunity would give me the greatest joy I could ever achieve. Every rude phone call or thrown brick would fill me with happiness that I’ve wounded the great dying beast that we have been battling for hundreds of years in this nation.

ameancow,

This was America’s first and closest foray into fascist takeover, the same exact way that other democracies have fallen this last century or longer.

Just because it was really dumb this time, and in the end the guilty party was actually found guilty by the law, we are nowhere close to out of danger on this front.

Trump will be dead in a few short years and we’re all going to stop talking about him, this is assured, and in that huge, gaping power vacuum with millions of followers ripe for the plucking, they’re going to be coerced by some new figure and led to the exact same ideas about burning the country to the ground just so they have a leader who “hurts the right people.” And this new leader of the vulnerable masses might not be so dumb or so wildly delusional and may actually succeed at the same exact plan.

Get more involved in your local politics people, state, county, city and community elections are what prop up fascists in the upper reaches. Know who is actually representing you.

candybrie,

He was not found guilty of an attempted fascist takeover. This is the falsified business records case. It’s the most trivial case against him. Going after the jurors who convicted him in this case is going to be chilling on the juries for the cases that matter so much more.

Seems like they’re at least as Christian as the next one, if not more.

No, I’m sure that’s right. They made a number of prime time tv shows proving it. /s
