Maybe, it also has symbolic value, and might demoralise the civilian populace, whose support is crucial to the continued state support.
It still seems a weak move as infrastructure should be a more effective target, but who knows how many layers of distractions and attacks of opportunity really happen in the field?
I trawled through your profile a bit, enough to see that you’re reasonably well meaning, but both steeped in biased propaganda and having issues from the many broken systems in the US.
My question however is how you believe that Trump will make your life better?
From my perspective (from Europe), you’re exactly the type of person Trump loves grifting off of. Last time he did a lot of killing off lower middle class jobs, plundering your workers rights, protections and wages, mismanaging or dismantling support systems like healthcare, infrastructure, disaster readiness, while also increasing taxes on you. Oh, and also bumbled through the pandemic and disaster responses causing more than a million unnecessary deaths.
He also openly broke the law, got very questionable payments coinciding with odd policy changes, and leaked/sold national secrets not only betraying the institutions, but the nation itself.
He’s also a known adulterer, liar, slanderer, prideful cheat.
So that would seem to disqualify him as a good pick for either policy, statesmanship, patriotism, or moral reasons.
The only remaining reason then seems to be feelings, no?
Feel free to tell me what Trump does better than Biden, for your life and/or for the nation, or whatever other perspective is more important for you.
Oh, so Trump is now running on the glory of the German republic? Seems like an odd shift in campaign strategy. /s
“Reich” doesn’t mean “Nazi”.
That might be true in german. But Trump’s addressing the US, and particularly a demographic known to a) not speak german, b) associate "Reich"with the propaganda of the Aryan Third Reich of Nazi propaganda, which was the ideal to be ushered in by (and excuse) the Holocaust, Secret Police, Ghettos, systematic execution of homosexuals/disabled/colored, the subjugation of the lesser races, and other pastimes of the notoriously sympatico nazis.
The best by date is in 2 days. I know about the water test for egg freshness so I’m not super concerned, but please give me ideas for using them up within a week or so 🥺 I’ve boiled a few and am planning to make some cookie dough, but that only counts for half a dozen.
Covid had plenty of travel restrictions, took less than a week to set them up. There’s already issue with people being falsely flagged as terrorist or other no-flight risk, and with some of the anti-leftist rhetoric it’s not a big leap to make. Also it’s entirely in line with Russia labelling LGBT as terrorists, which several GOP/MAGAts are breathing heavily over.
I hope you’re right, I just don’t see anything but decorum stopping them, and they’ve repeatedly thrown that out the window.
From a European perspective, the US centre-right are more conservative than the European fringe right. The European far right doesn’t (typically) want to restrict abortion, sabotage education or reinstate child labor for example. And are mostly about increasing and militarizing police, disenfranchising minorities, and different schemes to control that only the right people get to vote.
I’d argue that the US centre right is actually as radical, or even more so than the European fringe right, they are certainly causing about the same commotion, but of course have much more power in the US.
I’d agree that there are some variation in the European far right. In contrast to Italy, Spain and Russia: German, French, UK, Nordic far right are not restricting abortion, but are doing most of the rest (northern European ones not as much dismantling welfare/healthcare as making it inaccessible to some, especially immigrants, trans, lgbt, etc).
Sotomayor: If the president decides that his rival is a corrupt person and he orders the military to assasinate him, is that within his official acts to which he has immunity?...
Sexuality develops at around the age of 6-8, body and self identity starts a couple years before then.
I’m not a child psychologist, but I’d make a guess that trans realisation in children are rare before the age of 3, but after that are mostly a question of maturity, support of environment, and how harsh social norms are.
Also, aren’t you still legally a child up to the age of 18? I’m pretty sure I’ve heard that sexuality and identity develop before then.
Oh, and in case you missed that part, trans isn’t about sexuality, it’s about identity; fitting in your own body, in your presentation of yourself, in how you are treated by others. Sexuality is it’s own separate beast, especially with all the stigma about it.
Transvestitism is a name for cross dressing, it is unclear how much of that is related to gender identity, and how much is sexuality, as well as how big the overlap is when you weren’t allowed to be transsexual.
What we’re talking about here is transsexuality, which roughly means not being of the gender you were assigned at birth. The name came before we had a widespread discourse that sex and gender are fundamentally different things.
Remember that every lie has consequences for all negotiations.
That Trump regularly turns on a dime and trashes or backs out of any relationship that doesn’t immediately benefit him persinally, means everything from trade negotiations to maintaining army bases becomes much harder.
And/or more easily manipulated as we saw with Saudis, China, and Russia.
There is no lesser evil when it comes to genocide.
This is obviously untrue. If the option a) is genocide and b) is genocide and also dismantling the methods to protest it, methods to oust the decision makers, dismantling national security in resources and relationships, at the same time as blatantly plundering both the pockets of citizens and communal coffers, there’s very obviously a more evil option.
Equivocation and black-white thinking is comfortable, but there are still shades of brown when the shit has hit the fan.
In the best of worlds you wouldn’t be in this situation, now you are, make the better choice.
WARSAW, Poland (AP) — The Islamic State group has claimed responsibility for an attack on a suburban Moscow concert hall that killed at least 133 people, the most deadly attack in Russia in years. There’s a lot of propaganda coming all directions, as parties are interested in taking control of the narrative.
There are still a lot of candidate explanations, but tensions in Russia are high enough that the truth might not matter.
Putin has done similar things against Russia, there’s currently an armed insurgency going in Russia with independent groups acting, Russian civil discontent after the fake elections and increasing tolls of war is high and fresh.
Ukraine hasn’t done anything like this previously and has gone to great lengths to minimise civilian casualties, but have also had some rogue plans/actors.
It could be Israel trying to keep eyes off of their conflict, they’ve shown to care little for the lives of non-citizens.
It could be a big brain play by a western state trying to provoke NATO involvement, or clumsily fan unrest.
It could also be unconnected to the war with IS/China/post-soviet states stirring trouble for their own gains.
We don’t know yet, but Russia wants to pin it on Ukraine no matter who did it. Ukraine needs it not to be state affiliated, and so must deny.
I haven’t used an Android device since my last one, the Galaxy S8. Beautiful hardware, beautiful design, but it was plagued with animation stutters and dropped frames. I’ve had Samsung androids for over a decade, and they’ve had smoother animation and less loading lag since about iPhone 4 (which I’ve used for work in the same period). They’ve also had comparable feedback on presses.
Then again, the HTC androids I’ve tried occasionally have been real bad, so I get the question.
You shouldn’t have to rely on the words of Internet random though, go try one out.
I don’t know where you’re at, but around here there are stores with refurbished phones, where you can play with last year’s models, and buy them at low-mid range prices. Sometimes they have 2-3 year old phones at a steal, some of the online ones have generous return policies as well, where you can try it for a bit and then send it back.
