Yes, I really like them as well. And I bet the game will be good too. I just worry about the game not selling good enough and with Microsoft’s current track record of shutting studios down, Obsidian being shut down as well.
I really liked that aspect and kinda wish all Mad Max movies had been framed that way. That would certainly explain why Max is a very different man in Fury Road. (Hardy played him as traumatized loner, while Gibson always managed to give him a wry sense of nihilist humour.)
While that is certainly true, I worry about the fact that almost nobody cares about getting Covid anymore. Long Covid is still a thing and can basically destroy your life, the risk of getting it not really decreasing with each infection (you are basically rolling the dice each time). There is also the fact that Covid infections decrease intelligence even if you didn’t get long Covid.

In his time, Hitler was ridiculed for his weird looks and barely coherent speeches. It was thought he would be ineffectual and easily controlled by more seasoned politicians when he was allowed to become cancellor (he only got about 35 percent of the popular vote but managed to build a conservative coalition). To underestimate his and his party’s plan to dismantle democracy, which was plainly laid out in Mein Kampf, was a grave mistake of course. AI is the new procedural generation, in that it will be touted as making the games more real and immersive but really only makes it boring and repetitive, thus stressing the importance of genuine creative handcrafting. I’m looking forward to smaller studios selling their games with a “no AI” pitch in a few years.
I mean, Larian is pretty much that. Instead of just doing Baldur’s Gate 4 although Hasbro fired all their contact people and probably would have urged Larian to rush a sequel, they are instead during an IP of their own next and refuse to go public and/or get bought.

“So long as they (the Proles) continued to work and breed, their other activities were without importance. Left to themselves, like cattle turned loose upon the plains of Argentina, they had reverted to a style of life that appeared to be natural to them, a sort of ancestral pattern…Heavy physical work, the care of home and children, petty quarrels with neighbors, films, football, beer and above all, gambling filled up the horizon of their minds. To keep them in control was not difficult.” George Orwell, 1984

Always have been. Even the one thing they always claim they are better for they aren’t. Conservative policies have always led to weaker economies, not stronger ones. In every single objective metric, they are bad for society as a whole. Great for a few individual people and their bank accounts though.
His mind certainly is. The blobby rest will soon follow as well. He’s overweight, eats fast food and drinks coke all day and thinks exercise is bad because it depletes the body’s battery. It’s a wonder he hasn’t croaked already but time is certainly against him now. In comparison, Biden takes much better care of himself (but time is certainly not on his side as well).
Here in Germany, it’s going to be 30 degrees this weekend. At the beginning of April. Absolute insanity. Ten degrees less would still be called “unseasonably warm”.
Yep, that’s why I’m looking forward to Drew’s new game Exodus instead of this. But hey, maybe both are good, there’s Room for more than one action sci-fi RPG.
That narrative LEGO thing sounds like a fancy way of saying that it’s a branching story with several outcomes like Detroit: Become Human, but maybe less linear? Which still sounds like a cool approach for a shooter.
Baldur’s Gate 3 players have gotten really silly with mods since the game came out, including creating a number of mods that allow otherwise unplayable characters to join the party. Yeah, I could see that. He was not irredeemable and the interactions with his daughter would have been interesting. J.K. Simmons probably didn’t have the time to record all those additional lines, would be my theory.
For context: About ten years ago, the conservative minister of commerce at the time in Germany, Peter Altmeier, gleefully killed the solar industry and instead returned to the propping up of the coal and gas industry. That’s conservative politics for you. Here’s a handy chart.
