“Complete Dehumanization”: Israel Killed Over 800 Palestinians in 11 Days (truthout.org)

From June 1 to June 11, Israeli forces killed over 800 Palestinians and wounded over 2,400 as they carried out bombardments and raids across Gaza, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) reported. This is an average of over 72 Palestinians killed each day at the hands of Israeli forces....

CitizenKong,

Well, at some point, it will work, when there’s no one left on both sides to start again.

CitizenKong,

This is the guy that’s largely responsible for reality TV taking over all channels Discovery owns, so yeah. This was sadly to be expected.

CitizenKong,

It’s honestly quite distressing to see people act like human progress since the enlightenment never happened.

CitizenKong,

Sounds a lot like Avengers, a good 10 hour campaign weighed down by grindy bullshit.

CitizenKong,

That got hamstrung by the “next gen” update, unless Bethesda releases another large update of FO4 in the future (unlikely), they should be fine.

The AfD’s obsession with the Third Reich is driving a realignment of Europe’s far right | Mariam Lau (www.theguardian.com)

Massive change is afoot within Europe’s far right. Just as voters across 27 countries prepare to go to the polls in EU elections, a split over the German far right’s allegiance to the Third Reich is driving a realignment....

CitizenKong,

The same Krah received quite a lot of Russian money visiting the US and was questioned by the FBI about it.

CitizenKong,

All Trek fans after Abrams, Kurtzman and Orci showed up: Can we get Berman and Piller back please?

CitizenKong,

Manuela is a very German name, so much so a German rapper actually made a song about it.

But of course its origin isn’t Germanic at all. Which I doubt people with such convictions care about.

CitizenKong,

The fact that Wesley of all people is supposed to turn into this hunk will never not be hilarious.

CitizenKong,

It’s a disgrace Madonna wasn’t even put on trial back then!

CitizenKong,

Someone should remind them that they didn’t do it the last hundred years or so because the alternative was angry mobs trying to kill them.

CitizenKong,

They are not prequels, they are very loose adaptations of the book. Basically very expensive fan fiction.

CitizenKong,

In his time, Hitler was ridiculed for his weird looks and barely coherent speeches. It was thought he would be ineffectual and easily controlled by more seasoned politicians when he was allowed to become cancellor (he only got about 35 percent of the popular vote but managed to build a conservative coalition). To underestimate his and his party’s plan to dismantle democracy, which was plainly laid out in Mein Kampf, was a grave mistake of course. CitizenKong,

AI is the new procedural generation, in that it will be touted as making the games more real and immersive but really only makes it boring and repetitive, thus stressing the importance of genuine creative handcrafting. I’m looking forward to smaller studios selling their games with a “no AI” pitch in a few years.

CitizenKong,

Meanwhile, the last patch for the multiplayer part of the game has ruined the singleplayer part, you know, the actual game.

CitizenKong,
CitizenKong,

“Riker, don’t put your dick into this situation, it’s fucked enough already.”

Something tells me she’d be more impressed with Picard. She would quickly become friends with Janeway too.

CitizenKong,

I mean, Larian is pretty much that. Instead of just doing Baldur’s Gate 4 although Hasbro fired all their contact people and probably would have urged Larian to rush a sequel, they are instead during an IP of their own next and refuse to go public and/or get bought.

CitizenKong,

Well, they do want to turn the Hogwarts sequel into a live service game…

CitizenKong,

“So long as they (the Proles) continued to work and breed, their other activities were without importance. Left to themselves, like cattle turned loose upon the plains of Argentina, they had reverted to a style of life that appeared to be natural to them, a sort of ancestral pattern…Heavy physical work, the care of home and children, petty quarrels with neighbors, films, football, beer and above all, gambling filled up the horizon of their minds. To keep them in control was not difficult.” George Orwell, 1984

CitizenKong,

Also our brains are really good at forgetting the “fake” part of fake news after a while.

Microsoft says it needs games like Hi-Fi Rush the day after killing its studio (www.theverge.com)

Today, one day after Microsoft announced that it would shut down four of its games studios, Matt Booty, head of Xbox Game Studios, held a town hall to discuss the division’s future goals. “We need smaller games that give us prestige and awards,” Booty told employees, according to internal remarks shared with The Verge....

CitizenKong,

Oh it does, in the form.of huge bonuses for the idiots that decided it.

CitizenKong,

Always have been. Even the one thing they always claim they are better for they aren’t. Conservative policies have always led to weaker economies, not stronger ones. In every single objective metric, they are bad for society as a whole. Great for a few individual people and their bank accounts though.

CitizenKong,

“You know, with Hitler, the more I learn about this guy, the more I don’t care about him.”

CitizenKong,

But is it really bondage gear if it doesn’t hurt your wallet?

CitizenKong,

Fun fact: Gates McFadden was a dance choreographer on the movie Labyrinth.

CitizenKong,

I always wondered how people knew he succeeded, he literally yeeted himself into deep space.

CitizenKong,

His mind certainly is. The blobby rest will soon follow as well. He’s overweight, eats fast food and drinks coke all day and thinks exercise is bad because it depletes the body’s battery. It’s a wonder he hasn’t croaked already but time is certainly against him now. In comparison, Biden takes much better care of himself (but time is certainly not on his side as well).

CitizenKong, (edited )

Here in Germany, it’s going to be 30 degrees this weekend. At the beginning of April. Absolute insanity. Ten degrees less would still be called “unseasonably warm”.

CitizenKong,

He gaslighted Leela into having sex with him. Multiple Times.

CitizenKong,

The fifties of Back to Future are closer to the eighties of Back to the Future than their eighties are to now. You’re welcome.

CitizenKong,

If his surname is Cox, it’s a great name for a male pornstar.

CitizenKong,

Yep, that’s why I’m looking forward to Drew’s new game Exodus instead of this. But hey, maybe both are good, there’s Room for more than one action sci-fi RPG.

CitizenKong,

That narrative LEGO thing sounds like a fancy way of saying that it’s a branching story with several outcomes like Detroit: Become Human, but maybe less linear? Which still sounds like a cool approach for a shooter.

Baldur's Gate 3 Director Reveals One Surprising Villain That Used to Be Playable - IGN (www.ign.com)

Baldur’s Gate 3 players have gotten really silly with mods since the game came out, including creating a number of mods that allow otherwise unplayable characters to join the party. But according to Larian Studios head Swen Vincke, a number of those characters may have been considered for inclusion as companions early in...

CitizenKong,

Yeah, I could see that. He was not irredeemable and the interactions with his daughter would have been interesting. J.K. Simmons probably didn’t have the time to record all those additional lines, would be my theory.

CitizenKong,

For context: About ten years ago, the conservative minister of commerce at the time in Germany, Peter Altmeier, gleefully killed the solar industry and instead returned to the propping up of the coal and gas industry. That’s conservative politics for you. Here’s a handy chart.

CitizenKong,

I mean, the German car industry is constantly fucking itself already, they don’t need government help to do it.

CitizenKong,

I really hope they’re going sci-fi. I can only replay the Mass Effect trilogy so many times.

CitizenKong,

Yeah, but it was still nice they added it in. Doesn’t excuse their blatant lying before the original release of course.

CitizenKong,

On the surface, yes. But I think it actually has a lot more in common with Bethesda RPGs, specifically the Fallout series since it’s predominantly an FPS with RPG elements, although you can also play entirely as a melee fighter or sneak/hack your way through the game. The world itself as a simulation is mostly window dressing and a lot shallower than Rockstar RPGs. The game really shines in the stories themselves, the interesting characters and especially the character and facial animations, which are incredibly well done and make dialogue feel really engaging.

CitizenKong,

I love the evil path in the Mass Effect trilogy. First game - you’re an asshole. Second game - LITERALLY A PSYCHOPATH. Third game - good guy but kind of sarcastic.

CitizenKong,

Yeah, a few decisions are stupidly evil in the third one too, but overall renegade dialogue choices are mostly just funny.

CitizenKong,

I’m hoping for Sci-Fi and the next Mass Effect.

CitizenKong,

I don’t think he could have a woman beside him without immediately denigrating her.

CitizenKong,

In the comics, Magneto rips out his skeleton at one point. After which Xavier telepathically lobotomizes Magneto. And yes, although Logan nearly dies, he grows a new skeleton including bone claws. His healing factor also goes into overdrive since it doesn’t have to fight against the toxic adamantium all the time. It makes him grow more feral too, until writers decided it got too stupid with Logan talking and acting like a caveman so he got the adamantium back.
