fsxylo,

There’s about 3 mountains and a valley between what they did and baby mode.

I beat 5 of the bosses so far, and I’m wondering when they’re going to start being fun. Because I’m not having fun killing bosses, and every boss feels the same to fight.

The game doesn’t need to be super nerfed, but right now even From is admitting they need tweaking.

fsxylo,

Lifting the scanner to type always gets me.

fsxylo,

Mr. Terrific? Ok. Don’t get excited yet. Don’t let them disappoint you…

fsxylo,

Super genius inventor. I’m not much of a comic guy either, but he was a big player in the justice league unlimited TV show that was a big part of my childhood.

fsxylo,

There’s going to be a lot of people confused because there are actually TWO Shadow of the Erdtree listings.

One is the premium bundle which is at mostly positive and there is the DLC by itself which is mixed.

There’s actually two listings for the DLC which is confusing but one is mostly positive and the other is mixed.

fsxylo,

I hated roguelikes until I played Hades, decided to give roguelikes a try again. Realized It’s just Hades that I like.

fsxylo,

That’s what I thought at the time “yes that does spell elder scrolls VI, Bethesda, and?”

fsxylo,

Nah, the only times I want to play doom are when I want to turn my brain off. Shoot moving thing. Great success.

fsxylo,

When you want to win an internet argument so badly that you miss the point on purpose.

fsxylo, (edited )

Close, but they genuinely think video games are a lesser medium than movies. So of course they don’t take this movie, or our standards seriously.

fsxylo,

The answer is that corporations absolutely resent customers having standards.

In an ideal world, to them, you just hand them your paycheck and passwords and keys to your house directly in exchange for nothing.

That’s what enshittification is: the slow, inevitable frog boiling rise towards that reality where consumers have absolutely no standards, and are completely comfortable with being an exploited resource, even thankful for the opportunity to be exploited. You already see that shit with Games Cash Shops as a service. All you have to do is put the skeleton of a game in there and you will instantly have a conditioned audience of goobers willing to die for you.

fsxylo,

At this point I see anything above $40 as a red flag. Free games or $60 games and I’m almost guaranteed to be treated as the product instead of the other way around.

fsxylo,

Cheaters? In my single player game?!

Spiderman pointing meme

fsxylo,

I saw this coming a mile away when I first learned it was a GAAS.

fsxylo,

I was wondering why it has a stupid name.

“Arkham shadow” surprised it isn’t “Arkham quest heroes”.

fsxylo,

Haha I use godot. You can’t hurt me anymore.

fsxylo,

Before that they were remembered for the video game where you sell a black woman into slavery… As an organ grinder monkey. This is just karma.

fsxylo,

The third(?) Deponia game. Where you have the clones. There’s one segment where you cause a woman to lose her job, trap her in a sewer, and “offer” her a job to escape the sewer by working as an organ grinder monkey. It’s really fucked up.

Maybe not as fucked up as the puzzle where you lure a group of kids into a creepy guys van.

fsxylo,

Lol you didn’t even know it was a thing and now you’re an expert on it. And of course you immediately defend it.

fsxylo,

People are going to start giving their loved ones the IRS spiel about how they won’t call you asking for personal info.

Former Blizzard President Thinks Tipping Game Creators Is Great Idea (80.lv)

By now, everyone in the world knows that American tipping culture is getting out of hand. That doesn’t mean you can’t introduce another way of “supporting” creators. Mike Ybarra, the former president of Blizzard, shared his desire to tip developers of especially enjoyable games....

fsxylo,

Asking for tips IS nickel and diming.

fsxylo,

Yup. The “free” market says that if everyone does the same shit, you have no choice, and they still make more money.

fsxylo,

I think the privacy protection is fixing the issues.

fsxylo,

Honestly surprised at this. First time I hear about Dawkins in a decade and he calls a religion decent.

And he’s transphobic. What a world.

fsxylo,

Why would you have a problem with that Caitlyn HMMMM??

fsxylo,

As it was with witcher 3, AKA “get off the roof, roach!”

fsxylo,

Nah, Im a part of the generation that wants to burn Bethesda to the ground for horse armor.

I bought the game, I don’t want every fucking second I spend playing it trying to ignore their cash shop.

fsxylo,

Fuck yeah, cut the corpos out of the hobby space.

fsxylo,

Hades is a good one. It’s hard to get “unlucky” instead you’re forced to play a different build if you don’t get the powers you want.

fsxylo,

Ignoring the controversy for a second, I do think your writing is going to be shit if you outsource it, it just screams “I don’t give a fuck, let some intern I can’t even supervise do it”. So while this company isn’t egregious per se, the fact it exists and there’s a demand for it spells a bigger issue with the industry.

fsxylo,

If I don’t have the talent, I’d hire the talent and work with them directly. Not hire some firm and tell them “yes we need to maximize the player engagement portfolio metric synergized meta narrative systems” and whatever other corporate words I could fit in.

Which is specifically what my post was criticizing, unless you’re going to try to tell me that doesn’t happen.

fsxylo,

I don’t know why you’re being pissy, that’s how most indie companies work…

fsxylo,

I had to double check that you aren’t a troll account, and you are. Bye!

fsxylo,

I think religious or spiritual belief itself is a compromise on your intelligence that social engineers can use to make you do anything they want… Which if you look at American politics is working like a charm for them.

As for “ire” generally my beef is with Christianity and the woo community, both of which promote harmful beliefs over safe practices just to live out a Harry Potter fantasy.

fsxylo,

Meh, I guess.

fsxylo,

God, it’s so convoluted I’ll become a monk first.

fsxylo,

Tiny Tina falls completely flat. I’m convinced that only Ashley Burch could actually play the character.

fsxylo,

Shitting into your hand simulator is my anticipated AAAA game.

fsxylo,

They clearly mean whatever the fuck they want and fuck you pay us $70.

fsxylo,

They released armored core 6 since elden ring but no one cares for some reason.

fsxylo,

Lol, it’s like they all got the same intern to write and design it.

fsxylo,

I put this game in the “top 5 games that I wish I liked” because I can see everyone having more fun with this game than I am.

fsxylo,

God of war is the best game I ever watched on YouTube. Playing it not so much.

fsxylo,

Rogue lite: we want to gatekeep this game for not being soop0r hard to play.

Rogue like: gatekeepers approved. Only real gamerz play this game.

fsxylo,

My point is that the line between the two is so blurry that I’m not convinced there’s an actual distinction other than elitism. Genre doesn’t mean “every game is exactly the same” having a wide variety in mechanics is a good thing. I don’t think having permanent upgrades outside the dungeon, for instance, is enough to make a game a different genre.

fsxylo,

All my homies hate aliens in Indiana Jones.

Bring back religious mysticism.
