phdepressed,

No country is a monolith of thought. There is opposition to genocide but without a majority there isn’t much they can functionally do.

Biden says the next president may get to name two Supreme Court justices (www.npr.org)

LOS ANGELES – President Biden on Saturday night said he expects the winner of this year’s presidential election will likely have the chance to fill two vacancies on the Supreme Court – a decision he warned would be “one of the scariest parts” if his Republican opponent, former President Donald Trump, is successful in...

Should have been they go low we kick em in the teeth.

That is a dark purple shirt for the people who aren’t colorblind.

Or if they’ll pay him to split the D vote to ensure an R win.

And Trump would “finish the problem” nbcnews.com/…/trump-israel-gaza-finish-problem-rc…

And Nikki Haley wrote “finish them” on an Israeli missile.

Just a reminder the GOP isn’t a better option here. We need to primary out the corpos on both sides but presidentially there isn’t a anti-genocide candidate that has a chance.

The rest of their politics are important as well.

phdepressed,

And was banned from running charities ( in NY) due to a fraudulent cancer charity, sued for a fraudulent University (never saw how that turned out), and was convicted of property tax fraud(being appealed i think).

phdepressed,

That’s an interesting question since it isn’t a Florida felony that he was convicted of. However, the Florida law about felony voting already has several caveats. It only takes effect after the felony stuff is “done” as in time-served, parole done, and relevant fines paid. Then you have the committee approval which for Trump would likely be a high-five.

phdepressed,

But it is mandatory because they get fired for not doing it.

phdepressed,

Death is gruesome. Even dying in your sleep is still gruesome.

phdepressed,

There’s a number of rightwing indian Americans in the US and it honestly gives me secondhand embarrassment as a fellow brown person.

phdepressed,

Mmm it may play a role but based off of the people I know personally caste isn’t the factor. It is more to do with the demonizing of communism/socialism by Indira Gandhi (as well as outright purging during “the Emergency”). Then poorly implemented policies such as the creation of OBCs/SBEC, basically an affirmative action quota was very messily implemented.

My dad is now pretty liberal (though I feel he used to be more R before Bush) but Bernie calling himself a socialist took some effort to get him past.

You’d see similar in much of the world, socialism/ communism has often failed for one reason or another (usually corruption and/or outside interference). Failures cause a lot of suffering and as a result socialism/communism is a bigger boogeyman to an average immigrant than unchecked capitalism. Here in America their lives are still better relative to what they were. Especially if they came in the 80s-90s many of them succeeded in the American dream succeeding with capitalism while running away from socialist failures.

phdepressed,

Hey, maybe when the rich (who fly a heck of a lot) start getting a little uncomfy we can actually do something about that climate change thing.

phdepressed,

The rich go international more than most. And boats are a heck of a lot slower than planes.

phdepressed,

Russia is happy with a warmer world. Their land will become more temperate, they’ll get a shipping passage up north. And of course the oligarchy will get richer. Gazprom their state owned and run oil and gas companies is one of Russia’s main economic drivers.

Black man who borrowed father's BMW questioned, forcibly arrested outside home (www.cbc.ca)

tl;dr - Black man driving his dad’s BMW is detained for being suspicious because he doesn’t look like the sort of person who drives that car. He is subject to a rough arrest as his mother watches. Gatineau police insist there was no racial profiling.

phdepressed,

Ah but this guy lacks melanin and is on the “right” side.

phdepressed,

The fascism is the point. They are mask off at this point.

This is a GILF outfit as the moms who were wearing this at 30-40 are now 55-65.

phdepressed,

I remember some of my friends moms wearing this when I was a kid

phdepressed,

There’s certainly more to it mentally when done as a choice vs as inflicted torture. Also about the care regarding where the spikes are placed.

phdepressed,

Doesn’t matter how good your healthcare is if your cancer (or other disease) can’t be treated.

phdepressed,

That’s a problem for us plebs not them.

phdepressed,

Special election, special rules. He’s gotta do a primary in June and be voted on in the general again in November.

Pelosi accuses MSNBC host Katy Tur of being ‘apologist for Donald Trump’ (www.thehill.com)

During an appearance on the network, Pelosi touted President Biden’s record on the economy, saying, he “created 9 million jobs in his term in office. Donald Trump has the worst record of job loss of any president. So we just have to make sure people know.”...

At least she gave up House speakership. Her constituents need to primary her. Last time her Dem opponent got 22% of the vote…and forget about the Rep

phdepressed,

It’s not an excuse, incels aren’t born incels. Saying they are responsible for their actions and that they are at least in part a product of their environment is not mutually exclusive. Understanding how they are made gives perspective on how to stop more, it doesn’t absolve them of whatever they do.

phdepressed,

60-40 so at a +20% as well. So a pretty significant one as well. Also the first time the Pennsylvania DNC endorsed her in the primary…

Africa actually liked Bush2 because he sent a lot of foreign aid there during his tenure. Helped a lot with their AIDs pandemic at the time.

phdepressed,

Now you have Charles is that really better?

phdepressed,

Who’s next? The lettuce? I’ll take the lettuce and UK transition to a no-monarch government before it wilts too much.

phdepressed,

Cia infested South America plus middle east and Africa?

phdepressed,

Yes, as with most middle class and above. They have a house, cars, stocks, where most of their wealth is. They don’t tend to keep much cash (relatively) because cash doesn’t grow. That’s why Trump would have to sell property (or truth social stock) in order to meet his 454Million judgement.

phdepressed,

Not yet, but once appeals are through he pays or they start seizing and selling his assets.

phdepressed,

Well he’d have to special order from his bank. The treasury isnt going to print money just for him. There’s about 1,846 Billion worth of $100s in circulation. So 10B is ~0.54%. That’s probably enough to cause some local shortages but not enough to cause “real” issues. If he liquidated and cashed his entire 200B Forbes valuation then that’s 10.8% of circulating 100s and there may be a mild nationwide shortage.

Sperm can linger for 5d to fertilize. Implantation of the embryo is a separate process.

Basically for these fungi, only different “sexes” can reproduce with each other. Still only need two for reproduction. They can’t reproduce with the same sex. So A can mate with B, C, D, etc. A can’t mate with A. Do dna sequencing on a few that you know can mate with one another and you can find where the sex allele/gene is. Then you can sequence the population at large to see how many different sex alleles there are. You can confirm or do old school observation to see which ones can reproduce with another.

phdepressed,

If that house arrest doesn’t prevent him from social media there’s no real point.

phdepressed,

So vote in the primaries. But when it comes to the general the “both sides” isn’t accurate and acting like it is is either willful ignorance, privilege, or trolling.

Cardamom is a pretty common spice in Chai. It is also used in certain styles of biryani and various curries. Various indian sweets can also contain it. The Swedes apparently use it in cakes and pastries.

It’ll be ready by the time you get to them.

None of the rich ones want to pony up that much for nothing and the poor ones have already spent what they had on his other legal costs and “merch”.

Biden signs executive order on advancing study of women's health while chiding 'backward' GOP ideas (apnews.com)

President Joe Biden signed an executive order Monday aimed at advancing the study of women’s health by strengthening data collection and providing better funding opportunities for biomedical research while chiding Republicans for having “no clue about the power of women” but saying they’re “about to find out” come...

phdepressed,

No need for nitty gritty, ignoring laws and courts is what dictators do. The hhs secretary is the one to determine a national health emergency and by law can only do so for a disease or disorder. Pregnancy is neither.

Acting like he hasn’t done anything besides not be Trump is disingenuous at best especially considering the congresses he’s had to work with.

Nathan Wade resigns after judge says Fani Willis and her office can stay on Trump Georgia 2020 election case if he steps aside (www.cbsnews.com)

Nathan Wade, a special prosecutor working with the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office, resigned his post after a judge ruled Friday that District Attorney Fani Willis and her office may remain on the 2020 election case involving former President Donald Trump and his allies if Wade stepped aside....
