I think it’s because of Americanized potato salad. The kind with miracle whip and tons of corn syrup. I’ve had mayo based salads like this and it makes me want to puke (as an American lol)
I think this plays with the stereotype that weird eccentric middle aged people like weird/gross food. Sort of like jello salad coincidentally (search it up, it is foul).
Yeah for that reason I feel like there hasn’t been a single game in the last 10 years worth 100% completing. It’s so easy to make a game excruciatingly long that everyone does it. So many stupid achievements that are just raw grind, “do something 1000 times”.
this is humorous because a crustacean is unlikely to make substantive threats of grave bodily injury or harm to human beings and less likely to thoroughly enact them.
How do you shave your balls? Every time I’ve tried with my trimmer it pinches and tears my sack and I’m too traumatized to try it again unless there’s a full proof bloodless method. Usually I just pluck as many as I can tolerate while I’m sitting around watching YouTube or somethin. But it’s such a pain (literally)....
I’ve done them with a straight razor and it all comes down to technique and sharp blades. Sharp blades are most likely to cut hair than skin on a flat surface. Make sure to either use a new blade or strop your SR
Firstly cook your nuts, really steam your boys. You want them very warm and relaxed so you can gently pinch, stretch and wrap the loose skin around your finger. At that point it becomes much more accessible. I recommend doing this sitting. If using a straight razor use a steep, less aggressive angle.
For weed wacking around a post, pull it tight and if its too slippery, use a single slip of toilet paper to hold on. Once everything is in tension you may tread carefully with your razor(s). You may need to pull it in many directions to reach every spot.
That will get 50-70% of hair. For the rest I recommend squatting over a mirror. Again, make sure to pull everything in tension before hand and get everything very hot and steamy. Pubes are like spaghetti, they’re softer when cooked.
TF2, according to steam charts, is the third most played game on steam. It’s been overrun by bots for years now, and recently a petition started that’ll be physically printed and delivered to valve HQ. If you care about TF2, or if you can spare some time, please sign the petition...
I’ll be honest, we’ve tried so many times to save tf2 and the most we’ve gotten is valve logging in to their TF2 Twitter. The hell is signing a petition and mailing it to their office gonna do?
Despite the bots the player count is very high and stable. People are still buying keys and items regardless. Plus making games simply isn’t valves business anymore, they’re a games store and a hardware manufacturer, not a studio. Whether tf2 lives or dies doesn’t matter to them, it’s negligible relative to valve.
I love the game, it’s probably my favorite ever but I’m also a realist. It pains me to say but I don’t think this is gonna go anywhere.
It was crazy for me seeing cooler master (yes, the PC cooler company) release new “AI thermal paste”. Its just regular-ass thermal paste with very average performance.
I will add that cooler master claims it’s a translation error and a better translation would be “AI Suitable Thermal Paste” which is almost just as stupid.
This is why I avoid them. Just another lie, and guilt trip, to make the consumer spend more money. Dirty their conscious and make them pay to keep it clean.
The same goes for “eco friendly”/“no emissions” products. Guilt you for killing the planet, and changes nothing themselves.
I find it hilarious that despite competition from a dozen game studios and publishers, steam essentially destroyed all of them by doing basically nothing and merely maintaining their service.
I mean, realizing how good the United States is relative to many other countries and especially adversaries does help put things into perspective. Things could be better but at least we have the hope to make things better. Many people don’t have that.
If it also makes you feel better, most countries in the world continue to exploit their, and other countries populations. In that aspect, the US exploits fewer than many other countries.
I work on electronics and woodworking and Phillips are the utter worst of both of them. The thread lock in computers makes them easy to strip when unscrewing. The resistance of driving them into wood makes them guaranteed to strip when screwing. Fuck them.
I use the correct driver, I’ll go through my kit to find the best fitting bit. It simply comes down to the fact they are designed to strip to avoid “catastrophic failure”. Plus the fact that companies use intentionally cheap, soft screws, to make repair and service harder. Cough cough zinc screws on a $10,000 iMac (steel screws would have cost 25 cents for 10, zinc like 5 cents for 10, fucking ridiculous).
Most of you probably know the memes about homes not being affordable to younger generations. It is true, that they are, at least, less affordable as illustrated by Figure 4-1. The reasons for that however aren’t evil Landlords, who want to leech as much as possible. It is more a combination of several factors:...
I think there also needs to be a real national conversation on HOAs. 84% of new homes are built in HOAs because they rake in cash. They’re also so annoying because we have so few consumer protections against them.
I recently watched a news story of how an HOA suddenly became extremely litigious with fines. Saying working on your truck in your garage is proof of habitation. Wood working tools in the garage are proof of habitation, the guy in the news story was fined for over 10,000$ in a short period of time, many of his neighbors simply had to move out.
They can do think because by owning the property, you automatically agree to their terms, even if they change. They can even place a lien on your home for not following their rules.
I think before we can discuss building more homes, we need to discuss real protections for the home owners and restrictions on the currently unbridled power of HOAs.
Sort of, it’s more anti ghosting, or configuring the keyboards circuit in a way so all of the “gamer keys” don’t interfere with each other. Ghosting is when a certain combination of keys are pressed tricks the matrix, activating another key that isnt pressed at all, hence “ghosting”.
Membrane keyboards generally only have 2 key rollover (sometimes if 2 specific keys are pressed, none else will register). Some gaming keyboards will rearrange the circuit so that these specific combinations aren’t present near WASD. For example on most keyboards, if you press W,A,S, the S key would not register.
Most of the time I just ignore it. I game a lot, and have a big expensive PC and high refresh monitor but I still game on a model M. Membrane keyboard with 2 key rollover, but it’s never really affected me honestly.
I have Sennheiser hd600. They are mindblowingly and I’ll never upgrade from them (may need to fix them a few times since the build quality is shoddy). I had to mess with the eq quite a lot to get them to sound perfect though. You can use auto eq, but everyone hears things slightly differently so I do it by ear until I like how it sounds.
I will say that koss ksc75 headphones (with some help from an EQ) can get 70% of the quality of the hd600 and it’s like 20$.
If it makes you feel better, I use a dac that’s 50 bucks and it sounds great with my Sennheiser hd600s. Frankly I mostly use it for the analogue volume control and treble/bass switch. Also you don’t need an amp for headphones/earbuds. These are for only driving power hungry speakers.
There’s no difference between 320kbps mp3 and flac and that’s a hill I’ll die on. Try using some of those blind “mp3 vs flac” websites and it’s indistinguishable.
You can be a budget audiophile and get surprisingly close to high end headphones. Koss ksc75 (20$) with some EQ can get close to the sound from my Sennheiser HD 600’s (300$). Funnily enough the Sennheiser already punches way above its weight and outperforms many headphones that can cost thousands.
No, there are many that prefer “brighter” headphones that focus on treble. I like bass and treble (aka normal person) and they shine at different times. Higher treble has wonderful clarity and bass has excellent immersion.
This may send you on a rabbit hole, but many wired IEMS have a standard connector, which you can buy a wireless adapter for. So you can convert like 90% of IEMs to true wireless with a 30$ adapter from amazon
At a comfortable listening volume, in a pretty quiet place (like a library) they could tell you’re playing something, but that’s about it. If a fan or ac is running, or a person is peaking then it’s unnoticeable.
If you’re playing music at louder volumes they could probably tell what you’re listening to.
Burnout is the death by a thousand cuts. It’s not usually “this ONE thing about my job sucks”. It’s typically “this is due, that is due, this person is a dick, we have a massive project coming up that we’re not prepared for, this person isn’t contributing enough, etc”.
All these little things beat us down, And it’s important to figure, which ones you have no control over, and which can you solve. Try to stop worrying about the ones without control and attempt to focus on those that can be fixed. It may not be all of them but it should help.
The problem is the consequences of certain companies failing. It’s sort of a threat, if I (company) fail the country’s economy/security/etc is going to fail/die.
It’s kind of like having your heater die in -50 degrees winter. Even if it’s a piece of shit, a new one is gonna take too long to ship and install, and you can’t survive long without it.
It sucks but it’s the reality of the situation. Companies that know that they have this position of necessity can abuse it to make risky investments.
Get a unicomp model M. They are the continued production of the IBM model M that came with their PS/2 personal computers. They use the same machinery that made the originals thus the modern ones are still “original”, which is a fun fact.
But yes, very clacky and noisy. Also very well made and durable for the price.
If you are dedicated to putting out one hell of a racket when typing you can also look into reproduction model F keyboards. They are like 5x more expensive and like 500$. They are solid metal tanks though with super noisy switches.
Additionally because of game theory, a “rat” will always exploit everybody’s chillness. It’d be great to not spend a cent on the military but Russia is a rat that uses this opportunity to invade its neighbors. Inevitably you will have to invest in some kind of law enforcement.
Honestly the worst thing about school were the other kids. Everybody are little psychopaths and are utterly ruthless. At work everybody just wants to get paid and no one really gives a shit about other’s business (YMMV though).
Also there’s no homework, which is a godsend as somebody with ADHD. Just show up, work your little butt off and go home, nice and simple.
Repair technician here. Yes we get a lot of hps with bad hinges, because they screw that super stiff hinge into the most floppy wet newspaper like piece of plastic possible. 200$ is reasonable because depending which side it’s one you have to completely gut the screen assembly or the keyboard assembly (you use to be able to replace keyboards by themselves now you need to completely gut the whole computer)
Fuck HP but also fuck a lot of other brands cause they all pull this bullshit (dell, apple, Lenovo, Acer, Asus)
I have no idea how no one has picked up on this and have all decided “Americans are dumb”.
What everyone has missed is the literacy statistic is for ENGLISH literacy. The other 20% or so are pretty much all immigrants that cannot speak English and there aren’t tens of millions of adults with the mental capacity of a rock.
