Michal,

How’s growing American economy worse than growing Russian economy?

Michal,

Yeah, like at night it falls down to 0

Michal,

Dash to panel seems to work fine. The only problem i had with gnome on two screens was when they had different scaling.

Michal,

Why single zero though? Why not 24.002? With single 0 you will still encounter sorting issue past version 24.99 (if there was one).

SSH login without user name? (docs.gitlab.com)

I was reading GitLab’s documentation (see link) on how to write to a repository from within the CI pipeline and noticed something: The described Docker executor is able to authenticate e.g. against the Git repository with only a private SSH key, being told absolutely nothing about the user’s name it is associated with....

Michal,

It’s a blessing and a curse. I have two gitlab accounts on the same server - private and work. I can’t use the same key for both as the key is used to distinguish git users, and git doesn’t make it easy to select which key you want to use to pull or clone particular repo.

Michal,

I could but then i can’t simply copy the “clone” url from the projects page without editing it.

I think the best solution for me may be to have a separate user account in the OS for work and personal projects. That way i can just log off at the end of the day and use personal account for personal stuff.

Michal,

Haha, i thought it was Poland until I noticed Oranżada 😂

Michal,

They’re being screwed be the landlord who misled them to believe the plants were his.

Let’s not forget the scooters are very compact, you can easily bring one into the office, shop, bus. A bicycle needs to be locked outside, often exposed to the wearher and could be stolen. I’d say it’s more of a factor than bicycle costing more effort to move around.

Bicycles also have more moving parts, needs more maintenance i assume than electric scooter that has a direct drive motor with no chain or gears.

Michal,

If you drive less than 1 mile per day it sounds like you shouldn’t have to drive at all. It’s walking distance - is your destination not reachable on foot?

Michal,

You don’t notice the increased cost if you have to pay micro transactions to go anywhere.

Michal,

Bicycle is a great investment. I go to my lidl by bike as much as possible and do proper shopping with single Pannier bag. It’s farther than yours, but it’s also easier to carry more stuff on a bike.

Michal,

They are doing ao well they can afford to waste half their chips

Gnome is nice and minimalist. It’d be nice tto have built in extension by default to keep the dock always visible without having to activate it in top left corner (very unergonomic considering that the dock is at the bottom). It’s unacceptable that you have to install a plugin to keep it on, as a beginner user I didn’t even know to install extension manager and what extension to install.

KDE on the other hand is too busy and complicated for new users.

Michal,

Yeah, but how will a beginner user know to install extension manager? I didn’t. There’s no prompt to install it.

For newcomers it just seems like a very basic ui with no configuration options whatsoever. Very frustrating.

Michal,

They added a lot of things since XP that I enjoy, like window management, multiple desktops. I don’t know if they were specifically requested by windows users, but contrary to your opinion they are welcome changes. Users don’t always know what they want.

Michal,

To me that proves that the feature was in demand. That’s why it’s included now.

Michal,

I just wash under running water. I know, it’s wasting water, but i have a dishwasher now, so i rarely have to do it manually.

My partner often uses a bowl for dishwashing, you can just tip the water out without inserting your hand.

If you have a plug it may be a good idea to use one with a chain.

Michal,

Aren’t widgets pieces of software? Of course they have to run code. But they need to be isolated, or at the very least not have sudo access.

Michal,

Btrfs.

Michal,

The first paragraph literally says “two bedroom penthouse”. If that’s cramped by your standards, you must be an American.

Some people like living in cities. It’s convenient, you have shops and other amenities close by, and don’t need a car to go anywhere. Paris also has a decent metro.

Michal,

My main issue with ebooks is not being able to sell them. I prefer them to physical books when reading, but once I’m done with a book, i don’t think I’ll ever read it again so I’d rather sell it to recoup the cost.

Michal,

Why does litter have a picture of a cat instead of human?

Michal,

I deleted when they disabled APIs and my app stopped working. It was 13 or 14 years old at the time

Michal,

My PC is better than my console, that’s for sure. I have the Xbox 360.

Michal,

It is unreasonable if they are not the one providing payment infra.

They already charge developers 100$ pa for the app store account. If that doesn’t cover their costs, they can increase it, but going after 3rd party payments is pure greed.

Michal,

Apple is a patent troll so it serves them right. They think they can patent rounded rectangle, lol

Michal,

I’d like to see a game of cat and mouse until Apple fucks up and breaks their own imessage app

Michal,

USA as a very car centric country is definitely best suited for a car centric game like Grand Theft Auto.

Michal,

It’s incorrect. I would comparing to fuel consumption in a car based on how many times you turned. If you make more turns on your way, it would seem your car is more efficient, when in reality there’s very little relation between turns and fuel usage, just like there is little relation between number of blocks mined and transactions.

Michal,

False. Mining is what uses electricity (and water) in bitcoin, not transactions. Adding more transactions does not add to the cost. Calculating consumption per transaction is misleading as the two are not related.

What does add to the cost is complexity, and complexity is calculated based on number of miners in the network in order to achieve the sweet spot of 1 block every 10 mins (if i remember correctly). If there’s a lot of competition, each miner will have to use more electricity to win.

Michal,

But does it account for manufacturing of the plastic cards, delivering it to the user, and the added expense of the extra weight when carrying it around? /s

Michal,

Wait till interest hits the high numbers. This will motivate your tenants to work extra hard for rent and make them richer in the long run.

Michal,

Just because they send out the password does not mean it’s not hashed. They could send the email before hashing.
