OsaErisXero,

Sounds like someone needs a visit from their democracy officer

OsaErisXero,

Going to second this. It hit critical mass of users where the all feed isn't just one person's special interests just after the thread a few months back and it's like i never moved.

OsaErisXero,

The frustrating part is that the whole idea is great on its face: pay to capture the co2 you generate where they can do so at scale, but this just... clearly doesn't do that.

OsaErisXero,

You are generally right, but "Stand back and stand by" was pretty fucking blatant, and nobody who wasn't searching for a reason it wasn't an issue 'misunderstood' the message.

OsaErisXero,

The problem is that trump is far from the only serious problem facing America.

No, he's not, but resolving him is critical path to resolving the rest of them. In this case, I don't think it's unreasonable to focus in on November and the few months following it.

OsaErisXero,

I don't know if this post was intended to be a reply to me or not, since I wasn't talking about Biden at all, but I'll have a go at it:

I think you're right, and that a Dem candidate who actually quacked like a duck consistently would perform better, but party leadership, rightly or wrongly, seems to be banking on keeping their current voters and trying to entice disaffected GOP voters (read: women), particularly in purple states, to either stay home (I hate both of them i'm not going) or vote Dem in a "at least he's not like Bernie, but maybe I can have healthcare again" sense. I live in Missouri, and my neighborhood had conservative grandmas out canvasing for ballot initiatives on the abortion issue for the first time since moving here, so I'll allow that they might be on to something, even if I don't agree with the tactic.

EDIT: to clarify, they were trying to put a ballot initiative to add abortion as a right to the Missouri constitution

OsaErisXero,

No, but given the context when it was originally written, one would have a hard time finding any which weren't. Especially if when you answer 'yes' it just asks you to list them, as there's a big difference from the US's perspective between having been part of a coop in the woods and a member of the Soviet Politburo

UN Security Council backs plan for Israel-Hamas ceasefire (www.reuters.com)

UNITED NATIONS, June 10 (Reuters) - The United Nations Security Council on Monday backed a proposal outlined by President Joe Biden for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip and urged the Palestinian militants to accept the deal aimed at ending the eight-month-long war....

OsaErisXero,

UNSC resolutions are exactly as binding as the force level they're willing to commit to enforce them.

OsaErisXero,

In a sane world, one of two things would happen, ideally both:

Immediate Impeachment and motion for a mistrial be granted

Arrest for Obstruction of Justice

OsaErisXero,

I remember watching it happen in school and even I know jet fuel can't melt steel beams, but a good hot sauce will make a good go of it.

OsaErisXero,

I would argue that's VRChat. Idk what roblox is becoming.

OsaErisXero,

It's got such classic lines, and black is always the new black

OsaErisXero,

I think the point they're trying to make is that the second they met actual opposition (when the secret service fired on the mob trying to breech what I think was the legislative chamber, don't recall exactly) the mob dissolved immediately.

OsaErisXero,

Let's not pretend like the rest of us would have disagreed. If Trump sees the inside of a cell that will be an anomaly at this point.

OsaErisXero,

Agreed, though I think there's more to salvage from the story than he's giving it credit for.

OsaErisXero,

If civilization is going to survive, leaving this specific problem to our descendents won't be an option. Private Equity is an us problem, and we need to treat it like one.

OsaErisXero,

They order the missiles to be fired from Moscow, yes?

OsaErisXero,

Cigarette prices didn't really budge with inflation unlike food, rent, etc

OsaErisXero,

No, i think the boats might be the only real line left at this point.

OsaErisXero,

Nah, that's what he did: Slept with Thomas while he was with Will. That's how Thomas knows what happened between them, and let's the scene work as written still

OsaErisXero,

Idk, they may have just made too many of them. We have some of these but lord of the rings that we got for our kids a few years ago, but at this point they've both aged out of Little People.

Give me some proper trek lego already

OsaErisXero,

I love how the Oreilly books became the gold standard for covers for this sort of thing.

OsaErisXero,

The campaign is a little cutscene-heavy and a little short, but the story isn't much worse than HW2's, maybe a little better imo.

Mechanically though, it's (probably) better than the remasters. Directional damage is still there, homing projectiles are gone, fighters dynamically form squads instead of staying in a big blob or fixed-width squads in 2. I read some of those reviews at most of them don't appear to have played more than the first 2 missions? Like, there was one lore error in one line of dialogue and people lost their goddamn minds.

I think it was really just a victim of 1) Embracer's implosion meaning it had to launch now or not at all and 2) people's expectations being all the way up at 11 since the last game was so long ago. Really, a little bit of story DLC to flesh out the main campaign and there would be no problems.

Doubt we'll see it though.

OsaErisXero,

We did this with the Xbox series S actually, so that model does have some merit, just not at the 500 USD price point.

OsaErisXero,

Does Montreal also have zero publically accessible trashcans for miles at a time? Because everywhere I've personally seen this be a problem, there are zero trash cans anywhere.

OsaErisXero,

No, they would have to collect from some Europeans and then geoblock all of Europe, and they might be good.

OsaErisXero,

Depends on where the site is hosted and/or monitized, but if it's the US then a US court will simply execute the fine as written, generally, as part of our reciprocity agreements with the EU regarding enforcement of court orders.

OsaErisXero,

It would have gone live with yesterday's patch and didn't, so there's significant substance to their statement so far

OsaErisXero,

Let's not forget that with Gamepass, it's not just a better game by folding in PC, but they're doing something completely different with their consoles than Sony is. More and more, Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo are either competing with Valve or against themselves, and not each other.

OsaErisXero,

Yeah, but the shame all plays into it. They wouldn't like it if they didn't feel bad the whole time.

OsaErisXero,

It's Monday in Japan, it took precisely the whole weekend.

OsaErisXero,

If his business relationship with Sony doesn't consist exclusively of active hostility then he has failed his staff and shareholders.

OsaErisXero,

Lmao, this was such a panic reaction by sony that they've banned all US territories as well multiple countries where PSN is active.

They are so cooked that this isn't even funny.

OsaErisXero,

Mixed so far. The one thing that arrowhead has taught this community is teamwork. We're on course for Mostly Negative in the next week or two.

OsaErisXero,

I feel exactly zero sympathy for them at this point. All they had to do for the narrative to be 'Fuck Sony' instead of 'Fuck Arrowhead and Sony' was nothing. Sony cannot compel speech out of employees of companies in EU member states.

Unless the objective was to generate as much hate and aggro as possible, in which case these clown tier responses were perfect.

OsaErisXero,

Only if they've failed to drink their verification cans.

OsaErisXero,

The worst part is it's probably not even deliberate, just what drives the most eyeball time.

OsaErisXero,

I think the shows have actually fielded this issue rather well. Temporal investigations was the start, then the timecops in Voyager and SNW. The Trek timeline is in a constant state of flux to the point that the TOS bridge and the SNW bridge are supposed to be the same place, and the fact that time travel is so easy is a great explanation for how everything in the 'past' and future keeps changing on the whims of producers at Paramount.

OsaErisXero,

I think Harry picks up too many strays. If Voyager wasn't in the Delta quadrant, he would have gotten happily promoted up to Lt. Commander of some Miranda or California and retired as a mildly interesting officer who never did anything of note (or gets got in the cold open of some other more interesting ship's episode). In fact, that so many randos who just happened to be on Voyager can hang with the level of bullshit that ship got up to would be a statistical anomaly if it wasn't 100% certain that some Future Janeway stacked the deck during assignments for that mission to the badlands.
