The place next door just got rebuilt as a fourplex, each unit of which is going for 1.6 million dollars. The mortgage would be $8k/month. I and my partner have no kids, no car, and both have solid incomes in union jobs. Our current rent is a hair under $1k/mo because we’ve been in this place awhile.

That mortgage plus taxes, utilities, would still be almost all our income. It’s ridiculous.

They abandoned Linux support. Fuck them. It was one of the only games that did. Linux users were a bug part of their initial success, and they dumped us as soon as the money came in.

At least here it can have 1.1% ABV without triggering regulations. Most of the sugars get metabolized by yeast into alcohol, then bacteria into vinegars. The better it’s oxygenated, the more vinegars are made. You don’t remove the alcohol, you convert it.

So 40g of sugar in a litre would become about 20g of alcohol, most of which becomes vinegar. The exact amount depends on time, temp, oxygen.

I love how coffee smells, and heavily diluted in an icecap or something, it’s fine.

Straight up, though? Disgusting. I’ve tried for years to develop the taste for it. No dice.

A well prepared tea just goes down easier.

Even a caffeine free green tea is a step above hot water. And I’ll drink straight hot water on a cold day in a pinch.

Oh yeah. I sometimes ask my partner to take a sip of her coffee. She asks me why I punish myself. She takes it plain black, and we get it from a ton of different places.

I’ve tried larger amounts to see if my palate adjusts, but it never really has. Granted, I could try harder, but there comes a point at which it’s just not worth the effort. Tea is fine. Even shitty generic black teabags are okay as long as you don’t steep them longer than 20-30 seconds, and maybe bulk them up with a bit of sugar and salt to cut the bitterness. Too easy to overextract them and they’re usually extracted with fresh-boiling water, which is a little too hot.

Honestly doesn’t sound like a terrible idea on paper, but this spam outbreak could kill it before it gets off paper in a real way. Giving devs a bad taste will stay around a long while.

Edit: and of course the well-earned general attitude toward cryptocurrency as scammer playgrounds is automatically putting it way in the red too.

Leniency is good, and speaks well of you. I tend toward a zero tolerance policy on sone things - there are other servers, the lesson can be taken with them and applied elsewhere.

But if you’re willing to put in the time to teach, then that is good.

Good gaming experiences with no HUD?

I’m starting to find that HUDs in games clutter the screen and take away from being fully immersed in the game. I like games that force you to pay attention to what’s going on in the game and not numbers/markers on the edges of the display. What are some of your favorite games to play with no HUD? Absolutely, came here to say this. You can fully turn off what minimal ui there is and it’s still playable. They could really get rid of some menus too, like cooking could be a little more drag and drop.

More animations too. Latest patch went a long way, but eg fire starting and the like.
