People should organize and vote…but you should also be arming yourself now if you don’t have a plan to leave the U.S. These assholes want a war, but they will be content with a slaughter if nobody fights back.
The thing that is upsetting about American fascism is not that it exists.
It’s the fact that everyone is debating it like an argument about what kind of chairs you want at a wedding.
It’s the same scenario that played out in 1930s Germany and the rise of Nazism … everyone kept arguing that it wouldn’t happen, it’s not like that, it isn’t that bad, they have good points, we can control it, we won’t let them go too far, everyone obeys the rule of law, we have morals …
… then we all had to literally break the entire world in order to fix the problem.
I’ve been gently pushing for the same message but at best hear people say “oh it’s just politics, and we have laws against all this so it will be years before anything can truely change”
Hitler’s power was solidified in a matter of months, whereby he threatened and/or had his political opposition killed. Then he came with the excuse “I don’t believe my people did this”
No one dared say any of it was against the laws, he was fully above the law and shielded anyone he felt worthy of the same, ofcourse he would have them dissappear when their use ran out…
It’s seeming like a tide of unthinkability bias is awashing the country. Maybe there’s a better word for the phenomenon where one just can’t contemplate what could be a really bad problem. Or if one can, ‘oh but [the grim outcome] is so far down the road…’
Not only are they in the process of openly subverting the Constitution of the United States, they are openly calling for violence. When declared powerful adversaries call for violence publicly, every option is on the table. Collective self defense may be necessary, and they may yet regret it.
This is a classic rerun. Leftists, buy and register firearms for defense now, because it certainly will not be bloodless.
ETA: don’t just buy a firearm. Buy a bunch of small paper plates and a shit ton of cheap ammo. Use the paper plates as target and practice at a range every day. If you don’t know how to handle a firearm, take a firearm safety course. They’re generally pretty affordable.
I’m ready to hear what the Joint Chiefs of the US military have to say about this. They stepped in to lend some clarity a couple of times in 2020 when bullshit was getting too flagrantly unconstitutional, to remind everyone of the military’s oath to uphold the Constitution regardless of who is in command (they also officially stated that Biden was commander in chief in Jan. 2021)
So if this dystopian scenario actually comes to pass…I wouldn’t be surprised if it was open season on SCOTUS judges and their ilk…you want 2A motherfcukers? they seem to forget THEY are the MINORITY
Trump is just the side show to this. He’ll be playing golf and making terrible speeches while this architecture goes up around him. It’ll be SCOTUS 2.0 on a larger, more inclusive scale.
Instead of the meandering disorganized crap of 2016-2020, with most executive office jobs left unfilled, it’ll be project 2025.
The choice here rests with the under 40 crowd. Vote for or against it.
The funniest possible outcome of another Trump presidency is Trump being too insane to even follow the Project 2025 plan, and just erect another 4 year kakocracy that largely embarrasses the Republican part
Again, keep this in mind when you see people urging you to not vote against Trump. Also note how you almost never see any of them in the comment sections of stories critical of Trump. The few that do show up usually only try and whatabout it into being about how Biden is bad.
