The Ezra street parties that cost the city thousands are totally fine. but they freak out over a few tents. The only reason this school is around is that it’s a feeder school to a lot of local tech companies that want fresh meat to grind.

So pretty much all of them. I’d assume most of those who are not landlords intend to become landlords and will vote pro landlord policies in anyway.

I’ve eaten this a few times. It’s actually great when you have congestion. Clears the sinuses real good. May have also given me an ulcer, but I used to eat a lot of spicy stuff so could have been anything.

Ah good to know. I’ve never been able to get a clear answer from my doctor about it. But I do know as I’m creeping to my 40s my guts protest the spicy stuff with sharp pains

Now you can relax with a delicious bowl of granny creams.

I always wonder how these make it past long winters without a freezer. But then I noticed you have meat drying racks. I wonder I that comes with a salt harvesting mechanic.

Also is there a mod to make flour from grains? As somthing to ensure other tribes are also limited to medieval tech. I fear If I took this challenge printer whould just pop in with some doomsday launchers and destroy me.

Neat! Thank you for the info I'll have to try that out

I am curious about your invisible wall of death. Was it all spike traps?

Seigest,
@Seigest@lemmy.ca avatar

Oh. That's interesting. I wonder of skull spikes and gibbet cages have this some effect

Also applies to Randy Random in Rimworld

Apprently, if this meme is accurate, he’s been running things since ancient Egypt. The calm times are just when he is in the bioscupter for his age reversal cycle. In true Randy fashion these are not at all on a regular schedule.

This comic but panel 2 is a waffle house. And third panel with the angel says “I am afraid”

I dont think this is enforceable under the current rules.

My landlord is an anonymous person living in China. For all I know they could be some large corporation. I only have a point of contact as a local Chinese owned real-estate company. They gave me the contact info to somone out in BC who they said was the owner.

I had to call with the person in BC when i moved in. that person who is on the lease as the owner, mentioned they where not the owner but the daughter of somone living in China who was the actual owner.

After a Google search they person I had spoken with turns out to be a “wealth and property manager” who apprently handles properties for investors. I suspect they are “the daughter” of a lot of clients looking to own property here.

So with foreign investors owning land via proxies who are themselves working through proxies. How do we even know who owns what anymore?

We need the standard leases to be mandatory and somthing that cannot be modified without exemption provided by a stronger landlord Tennant board.

I wonder if we could then make it so all leases needed to be registered with the board. Eatch requiring a lease recording fee wich could be used to fund the LTB. This whould also give them some power. If a landlord has a bad history, or is not providing proof of ownership they could just deny leasing agreements making landlords unable to rent out properties.

Our standards have changed we now want garlic bread and video games. Fail to comply and we shall become unruly.

I don’t think I’d even buy a remaster of the first one untill the second one is actually done.

Though if we don’t buy it they may punish us with another decade long delay of the sequel.

I’m running out of decades here.

I was thinking about Dungeon Keeper recently. I was really hoping since 2 Point revived Theme Hospital the may do the same for this other Bullfrog classic.

I have not heard of this FX thing. I may have to try it out. I always felt there was a lot more potential to this game that was never recognized. Maybe this will do a better job of it.

Has anyone done anything with Populous?

I am sorry and you’re welcome 😆

What is something (feature, modes, settings...) you would like to see become a standard in video games?

I’ve been thinking about making this thread for a few days. Sometimes, I play a game and it has some very basic features that are just not in every other game and I think to myself: Why is this not standard?! and I wanted to know what were yours....

@Seigest@lemmy.ca avatar

I 100% agree with accessibility features. This includes some of the newer considerations.

  • no-strobe mode
  • normalized volume mode (makes it so sound doesn’t spike up suddenly, sudden loud noises are not nice)
  • greater setting for subtitles, size, color, descriptive vs transcription. And keep ui elements out of the caption zones!
  • documentation written in simple language for ease of readability.
  • read back for all written content. Not just the first damn word of a text box. (Seriouly a lot of games do this now its this is just annoying!)

I once saw a thing where a DM (D&D) had an anonymous survey of common sensitive topics. He’d gage what his players where comfortable with prior to starting a campaign and adjust the story accordingly. Games just need this.

I mean I just get headaches when games do it too much.

Timberborn - Update 5 is now on the Experimental Branch! - Steam News (store.steampowered.com)

Today, we’re happy to unveil the next big thing coming to Timberborn. With Update 5, the gameplay gets deeper, post-apocalyptic Earth grows more hostile, and your beavers become even more eco-friendly. All thanks to the addition of the volatile pollution - badwater....

I passed on this game a because it looked like a generic city builder. But having finally played it it had some surprising mechanics.

  • building up. Your space is fairly limited and you’ll want the good land for growing food. So you need to build up. Buildings ontop of buildings and you’ll need to account for efficient pathing and scaffolding. I thought this was a really cool mechanic.
  • power, the power mechanic is also pretty interesting. Everything that needs power is either attached to a powered building or connected via a big spinning log. Power sources are water wheels and windmills neither of wich is consistent so you also need gravity batteries. These are cool because the higher up you make them the better they are which encourages you to use mountains and scaffolds to make huge structures.

I’m looking forward to seeing how this game continues to grow

I like how you maintained the road and kept things natural looking. It’s so hard to avoid making a boxy grid.

I remember this game. I was to young to get very far and found it way too challenging for my age (I was like under 10 so understandably not the audiance).

I just remembering really wishing I could understand it because they graphics where really cool and whimsical.

It’s a shame no one whould pick it up. It’d have been excellent for somthing like super gaint games as they seem to have a great isometric engine built and Darren Korbs music style whould fit perfectly. I guess they’re busy with a Hades sequel though.
