KevonLooney,

It’s an opinion piece. When it all falls apart this guy will be nowhere to be found. It’s not his ass on the line.

KevonLooney,

While they remain overwhelmingly aligned with President Joe Biden, his level of support is lower than in 2020. And Donald Trump’s Black support is often clocking in at levels that would outpace all previous Republican nominees in the modern era.

These findings have produced understandable skepticism, fueled by red herring polls in past campaigns suggesting surprising levels of Black GOP support that failed to materialize on Election Day.

🤨

Ozma, you need a hobby. Biden is living rent free in your head.

KevonLooney,

Yeah, if you are looking for a troop for your kid, avoid the Mormon ones. And the boring ones who don’t go anywhere fun. And the “tough” ones with strict parents.

Remember that you can always just go to another one. And when you first get there, they will be on their best behavior. So if you don’t like what you see at the first meeting it will probably get worse.

KevonLooney,

Girl scouts is boring and doesn’t cater to what modern girls want to do. Most girls drop out after “Brownies”. It may be better for girls that don’t want to be around boys, but it’s clearly not as popular.

KevonLooney,

You are pointing out why the refugee crisis still exists after decades. No neighboring countries will accept the Palestinians, and many don’t want to leave.

Israel is clearly creating the problem, but other regional actors are using the Palestinians as pawns because they don’t like Israel (and don’t actually care about Palestinians dying). Larger countries like Saudi Arabia and Iran have the land and the money to give them a better life.

Iran especially doesn’t care about the Palestinians. They’re a different religion, as you can see in this picture:

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/3/31/Islam_by_country.png/520px-Islam_by_country.png

KevonLooney,

The 60 Minutes episode is a bit misleading in how they discuss this too. Basically it’s very impressive because they were high school students. A proof of this kind had only been done once before. They each found one independently and worked to find a general method for more proofs. Watch the 60 Minutes episode.

KevonLooney,

They already went to a cutting edge private school that has a 100% graduation rate. I could see what you mean if it was just one student, but these kids were working independently. The school is the common thread.

What you say might be true if it were an easy accomplishment for an adult. Like those kids who are 10 years old with 2 businesses. Then you find out that their parents have 5 businesses. What are the chances that two students independently have outstanding mathematicians as parents?

Not only that, but they also explained their proofs. Watch the video. It’s not a “kid with a boring online business” story.

KevonLooney,

This opinion piece is one-sided (imagine that!). She did support the defense’s argument as well. Although the defense is relying on the argument that Donald Trump covered up the paid sex because he didn’t want to upset Melania (not the election).

Of course this argument is laughable. Not only do they have witnesses and documentation (tapes!) where Trump wants it done before the election, this is a man who cheats on his newly married pregnant wife. He barely cares about her reaction at all.

KevonLooney,

“The Jungle” famously spurred large reforms. The FDA exists and has a lot of power because people were disgusted by what they read.

That’s why you’re reading a hundred-year-old book: it was influential.

KevonLooney,

So you’re intentionally exaggerating when you say “nothing has changed”. Yeah nothing has changed, except an entire Executive Branch department that didn’t exist before. It was more influential than many other books written at the time.

Of course the author wanted the book to be even more influential, that’s why authors write. No writer says “this book kinda sucks, I hope people read half of it and put it down”.

KevonLooney,

😂

Tone police? That’s rich, coming from the comment police. Besides, you said it twice:

Nothing has changed, it was obvious what was happening long ago, but we’ve done nothing but watch it get worse.

Do you think no one can provide context for your comments? Everyone has to agree with you 100%?

KevonLooney,

Don’t worry. I’m pretty sure Manhattan will lock up Dozing Donny. They don’t even look at him during the trial. They look at the judge, lawyers, and witnesses, according to the play-by-play account in the NY Times.

It’s psychological: you generally look at what you like, and avoid what you don’t. If they have partially made up their minds to convict, they should look at the witnesses and evidence to give themselves reasons to do it. I believe they look away from Trump because he has the power to ruin their lives once the trial is done.

If they wanted to please him, they would look at him more.

KevonLooney,

There is no permanent peace achievable now. Russia invaded Ukraine in 2014 and there was 8 years of peace until they attacked again. They used the peace to re-arm.

The actual solution is escalating sanctions slowly, like a python, to demonstrate to the Russian people that Putin is not in control. A sustained quagmire and waning domestic support is a recipe for Russia pulling out of Ukraine on its own.

It’s been done many times: Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan (twice!), Iraq. And those are just the ones that involved the US. Authoritarian regimes have to deal with domestic support too. They don’t just magically have unlimited resources to stay in power, especially when their army is outside the country.

KevonLooney,

It’s pretty easy. Add a rider to your bill to provide free American flags for orphans. Or a cookie for every child. Something dumb to grab attention.

Then talk about the actual bill when people ask you about it.

KevonLooney,

I believe the stock he owns can’t change hands at all. So there’s no way to transfer it to a holding company.

US regulators are not stupid, especially when it comes to safeguarding investments. Anyone who owns 5% or more of a public company has to file regular reports with the SEC about the size of their investment. You can look these up.

KevonLooney,

This dude lived most of his life on Manhattan. He has multiple properties there. Those people know him best and are the best judges of guilt in his trial.

KevonLooney,

Wonder about the natural world is nice, but I’ve definitely seen people take it too far. One comment on here talked about how they saw miracles every day. Like they were hungry and found $20 in their jacket pocket. Or they were cold and the sun came out.

That’s not a miracle. It’s just coincidence. You can’t say that everything is meaningful or nothing is.

KevonLooney,

Yeah, they balance inflation and unemployment. The idea of “sound money” is literal fools gold. We had currency backed by gold for thousands of years. There was a major recession every few years.

Every time some monarch coughed, there was a recession. If there was too much wheat, or not enough wheat: recession. The Federal Reserve has managed to save the economy during a literal world stopping pandemic. It’s part of the reason why people use the US Dollar as the reserve currency.

Israel/Palestine concerns rate 2nd botttom in Harvard poll of 18-29 year olds. (www.natesilver.net)

However, the reporting often treats protests on elite college campuses, or social media posts from articulate activists, as though they’re a proxy for the youth vote overall. Young voters do differ from older ones on some issues, including Israel-Palestine and free speech. But they do not care about these issues nearly as much...

KevonLooney,

No, people vote based on things that affect them personally. So minorities are going to be particularly concerned about civil rights issues that affect them. People definitely don’t vote only based on their wallet, or we would see many more unions and taxes would never be increased.

I like your anger against “activists of any kind” and I’m sure you 100% dislike tax activists who campaign against raising all taxes, right?

KevonLooney,

The agency’s move, confirmed to the AP on Tuesday by five people familiar with the matter who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss the sensitive regulatory review, clears the last significant regulatory hurdle before the agency’s biggest policy change in more than 50 years can take effect.

Once OMB signs off, the DEA will take public comment on the plan to move marijuana from its current classification as a Schedule I drug, alongside heroin and LSD. It moves pot to Schedule III, alongside ketamine and some anabolic steroids, following a recommendation from the federal Health and Human Services Department.

Waiting patiently for Dozing Don’s fans to tell us why this means nothing, and Biden is getting nothing accomplished.

KevonLooney,

Prosecutors are walking Keith Davidson through his text messages with Dylan Howard, who was editor of The National Enquirer, in which Davidson tells Howard: “I have blockbuster Trump story.” In his reply, Howard asked, “did he cheat” on Melania.

Lol. The head of the National Enquirer was told there was a blockbuster story about Trump and he just assumed Trump had cheated on Melania. Or as Trump calls her: “Melanie”.

KevonLooney,

It’s gone. Trump never fights back. He just cries like a baby.

KevonLooney,

This was part of the Biden team’s strategy. They literally planned around Trump being stuck in federal court for April and May. That’s part of the reason why Biden is campaigning now.

It’s a stark contrast between an indicted criminal and a sitting president.

KevonLooney,

Lawsuits

KevonLooney,

States are sued all the time. They usually win but lose a lot too. The court that decides in the plaintiff’s favor issues the judgement and it’s enforced like any other judgment.

The federal government can just start locking up the people that get in their way, judgement or no. How do you think schools in the South were desegregated? The national guard was taken over by the president and the national guard made it happen.

This isn’t going to happen though, because Meatball Ron is a coward.

KevonLooney,

Guess they missed their college graduation where you learn the difference between “effect” and “affect”.

KevonLooney,

You sound like you don’t know about the history of politics in the US. Trump’s cover-up of the payoff was illegal because it’s happened before. That’s why there’s campaign finance laws. Elections were undoubtedly more corrupt in the past.

KevonLooney,

Yeah, it’s not going to last. Conservatives dump their heroes as soon as they are no longer useful. Nixon had the support of 50% of Republicans right before he resigned. No one talked to him for decades afterwards. He was literally an outcast from modern society.

KevonLooney,

Very few loud people are comfortable with that. The average person has probably washed their hands of the situation because it’s fucked all around. No one is the good guy and it’s depressing.

Hamas official says group would lay down its arms if an independent Palestinian state is established (apnews.com)

A top Hamas political official told The Associated Press the Islamic militant group is willing to agree to a truce of five years or more with Israel and that it would lay down its weapons and convert into a political party if an independent Palestinian state is established along pre-1967 borders.

KevonLooney,

You are talking about young Mandela. He went to prison for 20 years and changed his mind about a lot of things.

It was only when all else had failed, when all channels of peaceful protest had been barred to us, that the decision was made to embark on violent forms of political struggle.

www.azquotes.com/quote/658964

Hamas is not a protest organization. They pick up the gun first, not last. They have direct connections to Iran and Syria, who could put more diplomatic pressure in favor of a peaceful solution. But none of them want that.

They want to kill for revenge and domestic support and personal gain. Someone like that will never make peace. Just like Netanyahu.

KevonLooney,

Like everything political in the Middle East, the answer is “it’s complicated”. Israelis and Palestinians are not the only political players in the region. They’re not even the major players.

The Middle East is divided between Saudi Arabia and Iran. They each have their allies and proxies. Both dislike Israel, but Saudi Arabia less so. Saudi Arabia is allied with the US and Iran is allied with Russia (since the USSR).

The real question you should be asking yourself is: why are Palestinians still in refugee camps after so many decades? Can’t one of these richer oil states help them? Both Iran and Saudi Arabia have extra land and money, but they keep the Palestinians suffering because it helps them politically against Israel.

Israel is the primary group fucking over the Palestinians, but Iran, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, etc. are all not helping the situation. Palestine is asking for diplomatic help and food. Saudi Arabia does nothing and Iran is handing them rifles to use against fighter bombers.

KevonLooney,

The Ukraine package is bigger.

KevonLooney,

That’s just the first part that the Pentagon is preparing. You should pay more attention to the news.

One of the bills provides $61 billion for Ukraine

KevonLooney,

Trump spoke to the press in the hallway and excoriated the case. He ignored some of the questions he was asked, like, “Where’s Melania?”

First of all, lol.

Trump sits alone at the defense table motionless, occasionally scanning the empty bench where the judge typically sits. It is a striking image for a person who is typically surrounded by so many people.

Secondly, where are all the people who claimed we would never get here? Where are all those who demand consequences?

Trump is struggling to stay awake. His eyes were closed for a short period. He was jolted awake when Todd Blanche, his lawyer, nudged him while sliding a note in front of him.

Thirdly, lol. Dozing Don strikes again!

KevonLooney,

Yeah man. Being on trial for 34 felonies is a breeze. Literally a walk in the park.

This man is literally shitting his depends as the head of the National Enquirer testifies against him, and you think he’s having a ball.

KevonLooney,

You in the 1920’s:

“Capone is untouchable! The Feds can’t pin any murders on him daddio! He’s doing he Charleston all over them!”

Reality:

IRS Special Agent Frank Wilson and the “T-Men” followed the money, gathering evidence that Capone had made millions of dollars on income that was never taxed. It paid off: Capone was indicted on 22 counts of federal income tax evasion.

Capone was found guilty and sentenced to 11 years in prison.

Alcatraz proved to be Capone’s undoing. The warden, James Aloysius Johnston, wasn’t as easily swayed as those Capone had previously encountered. When Johnston asked Capone his name, the mobster allegedly responded, “You know who I am.” Johnston is said to have retorted, “Here you are now known as AZ-85.”

forbes.com/…/al-capone-sentenced-to-prison-for-ta…

KevonLooney,

But the other guy is right. There’s a problem with polling now because many people don’t answer the phone. It doesn’t matter how many people you have in the sample if it’s biased.

In this case it’s clearly biased against people who don’t answer random numbers. The “not answering” cohort may be correlated with other population groups like people with higher education and higher earnings. The survey may be systematically missing this chunk of the population, making the results biased too.

Higher educated democrats not surveyed -> the survey misses their opinions -> the survey is wrong when the results come in at election time.

KevonLooney,

Columbia University, like other Ivy League universities, was founded with money from the slave trade.

Just FYI

KevonLooney,

The Germans were utterly fucked when it came to gathering intelligence because threatening captives doesn’t work. Allies put captured generals in a luxury prison and bugged them.

www.bbc.com/news/uk-20698098

KevonLooney,

some of them

Without looking into it, I can guarantee you that no one involved in British Intelligence in WW2 were in the US Army Military Police in Iraq 60 years later. Not everything is connected.
