I’m not so sure the reasoning could necessarily be applied everywhere. Management was forced to work harder and as a result actually got better at managing shit, which lead to realistic deadlines and workflow making everyone’s life easier.

What it really shows is that management sucking balls makes everyone miserable.

Catch 22. There’s not much software because there’s not many users with VR, but there are fewer people in VR than there could be because a lot of potential users don’t see any software they wanna use so they don’t buy a VR setup.

I subscribed to Game pass when it was just $1 for a while because it was just $1.

I subscribed to PS+ Premium for a year when I got my PS5 because it was cheaper than buying games unseen to see if I liked them.

I had Nintendo Online specifically because I got Rocket League on my Switch when my previous PC died and I needed my fix. This was before RL was F2P and thus you needed NO to play online.

I stopped with GamePass when it went to a regular price and it stopped being worth it for me since most of what’s on it does not interest me, or I already own it elsewhere.

I didn’t renew PS+ because they jacked the price up and I couldn’t afford it, even though I still feel the year is worth what you get out of it since it’s still cheaper than buying every individual game I might want to play, and a whole year is plenty of time for me to complete several games.

Ditched NO as soon as I got a new PC and could play Rocket League on my regular account.

What domain name to choose for an open source website where I could ask for personal donations?

I am planning to create an open source project for a web application whose entire premise is to provide an otherwise paid service for free, so I am not planning to commercialize the project. This project is also a passion project. I seek to improve my skills by working on the application and I am not looking forward to expand it...

Did they make HDMI cables for the PS2? 🤔

I still have my slim one with pretty much every NA released game. But my TV doesn’t have composite inputs, just HDMI. This made me want to take it out of the closet and play some Shadow of the Colossus but then I remembered that I just have the original cables.

I hate leaf blowers with the passion of 1000 suns.

Everywhere I am there is a guy running a leaf blower. At my house, leaf blowers everywhere all day long. At work, of course, leaf blowers blowing dirt and allergens into the air. Noise cancelling headphones. Literally designed to knock out constant droning sounds like leaf blowers or machinery.

Still, I agree. Leaf blowers are just noise and regular pollution generators and don’t really serve a meaningful purpose like good ol’ fashioned raking. Or at least, I’ve never in my life actually seen anyone with a leaf blower, at home or professional, bagging what they’re removing. They just blow it somewhere that it becomes someone else’s problem.

Many of them are also competitive games that can’t be “finished” whether they had new content or not.

Just stop when it’s not fun. And stop buying the promise of content (IE season passes at launch) to make yourself feel obligated to play something you don’t even necessarily find fun.

This is basically how death and respawn are handled in pretty much every space sim I’ve ever played. You’re insured and if you die, the insurance company pops out a clone of you and charges you (it?) a premium. If we had the tech for it, I’m sure it would actually be a thing.

I don’t remember the name of it, but it was just a super troll hack where you’re presented with the normal game for Mario 1, but then every obstacle had a hidden obstacle that would kill you when you attempted to play it as if it was the normal game.

There was another game made around the same time that was built entirely on that premise, but I’m pretty sure the Mario hack came first. I at least played it before I ever heard about I Wanna Be The Guy.
