I just had covid last week. Slight fever for a day, 2 days tired and I was fine and negative by Friday, yay!
As per protocols I went back to work next monday and fuck me, I can’t focus, I am beyond tired, I can’t sleep well, my sleep cycles are all messed up out of nowhere, and I literally feel like I’m high all the time even though I’m not. I’m still sure it will fade over time but it’s unnerving

Picard show, for example… Beverly crusher who once disobeyed a direct.order to save a victim after a bombing attack, who made a point about being peaceful is now a ninja assassin. Seven of nine, who made a point about improving, being better, now is a mad mass murderer who wants revenge for everything. Picard, who once was thoughtful, highly intelligent and respected, is now a bumbling old man.
Star trek which once was about being better is now about fuck fuck fuckerdy fuck fuck fuck because that’s star trek now, man, get with the program, it’s cool man!
I can go on for hours about Picard, let’s not. Discovery is somehow even worse. Those movies where they just did older movies again but now with new! And! Improved! CGI! CGI CGI CGI! Lense flaaaaaaaare!

Investment companies should not be able to buy hospitals, farms, houses, schools, sports teams, infrastructure, parks, forests, transit and transportation companies, pensions, saving funds, none of it.
A structure where an investment company can help a person to buy a farm and build something up while paying off that investment company within a reasonable time for a reasonable cost sounds fine, but we already have banks and it’s hard not to make those squeeze us.

Amongst things… PHPstorm allows me to rename a method and it will automatically rename that method in any extended class, interface, etc, and any call to they method too. It usually, mostly, does a reasonable job at it, but sometimes it forks up big time.

Yeah, the “stop eating meat is doable” is not doable. Ppeoli simply won’t do it. What you can (should) do is increase taxes on meat. If meat becomes twice as expensive, people will eat it less. Use the extra tax income to subsidize meat alternatives, make those more attractive.
We can do with a LOT less cars if we wanted to. Same as with meat, we don’t want it. Still, most car rides are under 3 miles, which can easily be done by bike but good luck being the politician pushing bikes. Or increased taxes on meat.
Watched the trailers, hated them, watched a single episode and turned it off halfway. Disco wasn’t written by fans and I’m having a hard time believing that lower decks was.
I LOVE the episode lower decks, the series is awful
Classic trek is about the stories, good nice characters, ships I could actually love in. Modern trek is a dark CGI fest with lots of pew pew and member berries and lens flares
Characters behave like they never did before, or plain non sensical (Borg queen singing in a night club, cringe, seven of nine went from calm and reasoned person to a ninja mass murderer who dgaf, crusher would disobey orders to save the lives of enemies, now just double taps, I could go on) or are extremely unlikable (hello Michael something something who always knows and can do everything because space jesus) to fuck fuck fuck fuck fuckerdy fuck fuck fuck fuck, because in TNG they too once said merde, so this is fine. In Picard season 1 all characters are basically murderers by the end, yaaaaayyyy trek ethics!
The ships are just godawful dark places that bang and clang to walk through, computer interfaces are painfully bad, and the techno babble that at least was rooted in some reality now is “just think what you want and it will do it” wtf.
Camera work is all over the place, always dark and broody,
Stories are nonsensical and lack the ethics/morals that the classic trek episodes used to have…
But yeah, I’m just ruling against something new, that must be it
I’ve watched every TOS TNG ds9 voy and ent episode more times than I can count, I even watched shades of gray twice. I have thousands upon thousands of dollars in merch, models, books, thousands of trading cards. Yeah, I’m a fan who draws the line at wearing a uniform but that’s about it.
I watched half a season of discovery and decided I tortured myself enough. I regret pushing myself through watching Picard all three seasons, that is a lot of hours I won’t be getting back and it pretty much ruined TNG for me. I started watching prodigy and decided I had enough of the crap, and I’m not wasting my time anymore in getting disappointed and having so much great history being shat on.
If prodigy made a funny injoke, then yay. After seeing the producers of discovery proudly proclaiming that they aren’t trek fans, don’t know it but love the platform to push their political views I feel like I’m just about done with star trek. I haven’t even watched the classic episode anymore, that’s how much of a turn off the entire experience had been.
I started watching the Orville and immediately fell in love with a show that is startrek in all but name. Go watch that, it showsbthe love.
