And not just the EV market. By messing their exchange rates, and stopping unions from forming, they’ve been intentionally depressing wages to stay relevant as a manufacturing hub and to ensure leverage. They’ve essentially been subsidising a bunch of our stuff for a while

I’m sick of Windows, and especially what it’s become, and the way its trending looks like it will only get worse. I’ll be building a brand new PC this summer and want to choose a Linux Distro instead. In preparation, I’d like to try out a virtual machine with a Linux distribution. I am solidly familiar with Ubuntu, but I...
Manjaro has had a few flaky things happen with their organisation, so I wouldn’t trust them, Endeavour OS is apparently a decent alternative to them.
OpenSuse is apparently pretty good, am yet to move to Linux for gaming (will next month when I build myself a new machine lol, might go with fedora, which is what I use on my laptop)
Update 1: Thanks for all the responses! I’ve gotten a lot of very good comments saying I should stick with Mint, and that’s sitting comfortably in my top two picks right now. Between new distros, I’m most interested in Arch’s rolling release model, as it provides some benefits for me for reasons I didn’t really get...
Something with KDE would be ideal for you. I personally use fedora, as it has a very modern yet fairly stable software cycle with one major release every semester
Hello. These questions are self-hosting related, but I feel they do partially belong here as they are also about fedora linux in general. I have a server which is currently running Debian. Vaping would be a deal breaker for me. Besides being douchy, I just plain don’t like it, just how I hate smoking. Piercings I probably wouldn’t like outa taste, but someone who can think for themselves is a must otherwise I’d get bored quickly. Not being able to cook would be somewhat problematic as I can’t cook well either, soooo…

Pretty sure they don’t want to risk being dragged into yet another conflict in the Middle East. If someone got killed, hawkish republicans would demand an invasion and US troops
Basically title. I have a 7600(x)(t) 8G. I want drivers with opencl for hashcat. I know the proprietary ones work, but they are a ludicrously massive PITA. I am willing to use almost any distro to make this work (not Ubuntu, and not one of those random newer ones). I really hope I don’t have to use the proprietary drivers....

Mainstream parties have two options right now: either addressing immigration in a humane way (making migrant processing faster, putting some low bars on immigration, like a 6th grade exam in the country’s language) or they wait until those guys deal with them the wrong way
Immich. Just found out about it, still gotta try, but looks good, an app that allows you to configure a Google Photos like app locally hosted, with automatic phone backups
In portugal, often houses were only considered built when paint was applied to them. There was a while where a lot of single family homes were naked concrete/bricks
I mean, a representative democracy is a form of republic given that definition (probably explains why most modern democracies are a blend between the two)
Traditionally, one would have to periodically check the status of the dust filtering on a PC case, but that’s not the case (pun intended!) with the Asus ProArt PA602. This chassis has a fancy infrared (IR) sensor behind the front-facing dust filter. Should this detect a set layer of dust covering the filter material, a small...
