How recent is your computer? Debian based distros, due to their focus on stability tend to have quite old packages, namely kernels

Manjaro has had a few flaky things happen with their organisation, so I wouldn’t trust them, Endeavour OS is apparently a decent alternative to them.

OpenSuse is apparently pretty good, am yet to move to Linux for gaming (will next month when I build myself a new machine lol, might go with fedora, which is what I use on my laptop)

Something with KDE would be ideal for you. I personally use fedora, as it has a very modern yet fairly stable software cycle with one major release every semester

AMD GPU driver with opencl support?

Basically title. I have a 7600(x)(t) 8G. I want drivers with opencl for hashcat. I know the proprietary ones work, but they are a ludicrously massive PITA. I am willing to use almost any distro to make this work (not Ubuntu, and not one of those random newer ones). I really hope I don’t have to use the proprietary drivers....

You have 4 basic options for funding:

-you rely on individual donations which doesn’t bring in enough money

-you force people to pay for it, which makes it less attractive when compared to traditional software, and makes much of the community pissy

-you rely on corporate money

-you rely on government money

None is perfect, but some amount of government funding (let’s say, 10% of what they would pay Microsoft for the equivalent software) might make sense
