I’m surprised they ever had new players stay with how toxic that game’s community is.

I tried it when it was still pretty newish, hopped onto the fucking tutorial servers where you’re playing with real people on your team, but against bots and there’s literally no stakes.

The level of vitriol I got for not immediately knowing the meta was enough to make me uninstall and just never bother with it again. I tried DOTA2 after and had the same experience, which turned me off to the entire genre.

There have been games that were hyped to hell and back and actually completed that were cancelled/prevented from releasing at the last possible moment. Sometimes because of licensing issues. Other times because some upper management dumbass wanted to move everyone to another project and abandon the one they finished.

That’s even better! Like, up until you start seeing/hearing about the truly whacked out shit in the world of the game, I just assumed it was more or less like the real world and all the weird names were just the result of Harry’s binge drinking and drug use. Once you start getting more info, though, it starts to become extremely interesting.

Only thing I do that I don’t see my Mexican friends’ mom’s doing is that I butter the tortilla just like bread for a grilled cheese instead of using oil in the pan. If you’re making a full circle, you can use a plate to help flip. Otherwise you can just use a single tortilla and fold it after the cheese has melted enough.

The mods only work with ROMs, so the idea is to take down anything that might make people want ROMs to emulate. Whether they have a legal right to do so or not.

Sony probably just learned their lesson when they lost their case against the Bleem! emulator back in the late 90’s/early 2000’s. They were, originally, just as rabid as Nintendo against emulation. And perhaps they also learned that you attract more flies with honey than with vinegar.

Then again, while Sony isn’t as aggressive as Nintendo, they are a bit slow on the up take and sometimes do really dumb things. Like their current strategy of releasing the first thing of a series on PC but the followups only on the PS5 to try and get PC gamers to buy PS5s. Why would I do that if my save isn’t on that platform and there’s no way to convert them?

Depending on the age of the machine, you could maybe just update the firmware. I mean, what’s it comparing the bills put into the machine to? Data hardwired into it or a file stored somewhere that can be changed?

Elden Ring’s tutorial consists of a single little cave that merely tells you all the basics of the game (how to move, your basic attack buttons, dodging, blocking, parrying, backstabs, sneaking, posture breaking and guard breaks) and then gives you an emote to perform as if to say “have fun” on your way out. The best part, to me coming from previous From games, is that you can skip it. It’s just off to the right from where you start the game proper and if you don’t want that emote, you can just go off to play the game. All the other games have a forced tutorial section (you can still sprint through it though).

Many players would say he failed on that with some of the NPC side quests already. The only one I thought was weird to follow using just what the game tells me was Millicent’s, and specifically the final part of the quest. You have to kill a thing in a specific location that isn’t really obvious, and then you have to reload the area again for a summon sign to appear (which even when you know where it is can be hard to see where it is). If not for that (or if there was some kind of fucking clue in the room or dialogue from the previous segment) I wouldn’t have needed to use the wiki or a guide for any of them. As far as his games go, ER is the best in this regard, IMO.

Gluten free play doh kinda makes sense. Kids will put it in their mouth and IIRC, it’s non-toxic because it’s mostly made with flour and water. Making it gluten free and also non-toxic means kids with gluten allergies won’t end up having a reaction if they eat it.

I guess the sand makes sense too with the same logic? But I wouldn’t have thought that would normally contain gluten anyway 🤷🏻‍♂️
