Spaghettification is caused by the gravitational force experienced at your head being different than the gravitational force experienced at your feet. A black hole formed by a dying star is in the neighborhood of 30km in radius. With a small black hole like that the differences in gravity experience between your head and toes is what leads to the spaghettification.
That’s not the case with a supermassive black hole like the one at the center of our galaxy which is the kind Gargantua was supposed to be. Those can be as large as the sun (700,000km), and that’s on the small end. Some can even be the size of our entire solar system. Because of their enormous size, the gravitation difference you’d experience between your head and toes is negligible.
And as far as navigating inside the black hole goes, that’s actually what Roy Kerr says - the guy that solved the Einstein field equation for a rotating black hole. He says that in the case of a rotating black hole, the singularity at the center is not a single point but a ring. And because of that, spacetime is warped in a way that that would make it navigable. You wouldn’t be able to leave (move back up past the event horizon), but you would be able to stay inside and have some effect on your location through your own force. At least that what he says. I’ll take his word for it since he’s spent a few decades studying it.
As for the bookshelf… yeah, sorry. Science doesn’t say shit about bookshelves inside a black hole. But, you know, it’s a movie. It’s probably a metaphor or some shit. But Christopher Nolan did a surprisingly good job of being accurate with the theoretical science of a black hole. Feel free to continue to hate the movie for saying love is a fundamental force though.
Who gives a shit about people spamming then? They only drop common samples so at best all anyone can get from spamming them is xp, credits, warbonds, and the first tier of ship module upgrades if they grind them.
There’s no value in XP after 20, no value in credits past your first ~50k when you have all the strategems you’re interested in, warbonds are nice but mostly useless except for the boosters and breaker (which just got nerfed), and the first tier ship modules are just quality of life improvements which everyone should be able to get easily anyways after 20 hrs of play.
I am working on building a new server in my apartment that will have a reasonably beefy GPU and CPU so I can get PCIE pass-through working and get a gaming VM set up....
If you wanna go absolutely crazy, do a custom water loop and submerge the radiator in a 5 gallon bucket with a water pump to to circulate the water.
when your CPU or GPU starts to get too hot because the water in the 5 gallon bucket starts to get hot, scoop a gallon out with a smaller bucket and refill it with cooler water that you can easily fill up under the bathtub faucet.
it doesn’t cost 30% to serve up the files and process some payments.
No, it doesn’t. It also doesn’t take $5 to make a cup of coffee, or $10 to make a plate of pasta, or whatever Netflix charges every month to serve up mundane low quality streaming video.
But unless you’re proposing ending capitalism to fix the problems with valve’s pricing model, there won’t be any change to it any time soon.
The only thing that will get valve to have more competitive pricing for video games publishers is if they have actual competition that can siphon away games from their platform. It’s not valve’s fault that everyone else has made inferior products.
And there’s nothing forcing you to publish on steam. If you don’t think 30% is a fair exchange for handling file distribution and payments, you can handle your own file distribution and payments. Your game isn’t forced to be on Steam.
Item drop rate, and chance for higher quality items will be higher. But that is to make up for the fact that you won’t have access to the entire aggregate market of drops. The highest tier item that can drop in solo mode is equivalent to the highest tier item that can drop in trade mode. But in solo mode your chances of actually seeing it drop for you are higher.
Britalism was an architectural movement that started in the post-WW2 UK.
It became pretty common for ~20 years and was very popular in communist countries due to it being cheap and no frills (commonly associated with western extravagance).
There are tons of britalism examples all around London.
They’re not publicly traded, and the only shares are the ones that Tencent owns. The shares are worth whatever someone buys them for. The price doesn’t fluctuate because there’s no market with which they are traded on
I refunded on day 1 because their anti cheat was preventing it from launching on Linux. They had a fix out Friday night, so I repurchased and have put maybe 6hrs into it.
I’ve been playing the early access Starship Troopers Extermination over the last 6 months, and after 30 minutes of Helldivers I told my friend “they’ve made a better Starship Troopers game than the Starship Troopers game.”
There’s a couple bugs here or there, but just playing 4-man with the homies seems to have avoided all the matchmaking issues.
That’s the joke. It’s a 50/50 choice, yet somehow (it feels like) you get it wrong 100% of the time. So the mine is in superposition being both present and not present under a tile. When you click the tile, you collapse the wave from and the mine appears in the tile you clicked.
Clone Hero can run on any PC. And it works with any USB MIDI drum kit. You can find used cheap ones as low as $100 or buy a new professional E-kit for $2000. If you really want to learn to play the drums (instead of just dragging it out to play video games), the Alesis Nitro is a really great quality kit in the $300-400 range.

Not OP, and am only ~15 hrs into Survivor, but I feel like you should.
The start of Jedi Survivor after the prologue is that the group of 4 from Fallen Orderwent their separate ways at the end of the game, and youre starting by tracking down one or more of them. So, it’s gonna feel pretty bland if you don’t know who these people are and why you might want to seek them out.
Just put it on easy and don’t go on any tangents.
However, even without the story I personally really like the first one because it was my first introduction to a dark souls like combat experience. I enjoyed learning how enemies telegraph their moves and timing my parry and dodge.
I need suggestions for a build (using AMD GPU) that will run AAA titles at about 60fps but at high or ultra graphics quality and I am not interested in playing at 1440p at 144hz, although I would like to if I could....
For that budget you can build a PC that will do 1440p 144hz today, no problem, which will be able to give you 60+fps AAA for the next ~4 years. (Especially as frame gen tech like DLSS and FSR get added to games)
1440p 60fps for today’s games you can do for half your budget.
For a tower, you need 7 components:
mobo, ~$100 ($150 probably more realistic)
CPU, $100 ($150 probably more realistic)
ram, ~$100
case, ~$100
PSU, ~$100
storage, ~$100 (you can get a Crucial P3 pcie3 2T for less than this right now).
video card, anywhere from $200 ~ $1400. Pick your poison.
Excluding the video card, that’s 6 components for the $600 ~ $700 range. If you go thrifty and watch out for deals you can get sub $100 on good quality PSU, case, and RAM which basically puts you right at $600 for a full PC in which you can put any kind of video card you want in depending on budget (however I would say once you start getting into the rtx4080 or 7900xt and above territory you might want to consider upgrading the CPU as well.). Additional peripherals like a monitor will cut into this remaining video card budget, but I highly recommend a good gsync monitor as it basically turns any 80 FPS gaming into a 120+ fps experience.
Looking to upgrade my trusty 1070Ti. I use my pc for RPGs (Borderlands, Hogwarts Legacy) , VR fps (Alyx, Arizona Sunshine) and VR simracing (F1 23)....
I’m an AMD fan, but don’t think the 7800 is in a good price:performance ratio position. A 4070 I think is going to be the better option, especially considering Nvidia’s frame generation tech hits a bit harder.
I’d wait for the super though. If you get that, it will last you easily as long as your 1070ti has. Unfortunately I think the price will be more than €600
A PC pulling 300w with a 600w bronze PSU (~85% efficient) will be pulling ~350w from the wall. With a gold PSU (~90% efficient) will be pulling ~330w from the wall.
So, for every hour of playing, you’re saving 20 watt hours. Thats 50 hours of playing to save a single kWh. Assuming a 25 hr gaming week for a moderate player (full time job, gaming after work and on weekends), that would save you 26 kWh a year.
Depending on your energy costs, and how you expect them to change in the future (almost always going to go up), you can probably expect the PSU upgrade to pay for itself in ~3-5 years if you have a moderately high cost per kWh (like 30 cents or more?).
High efficiency PSUs are gonna pay for themselves faster the more you use them. If it’s a one time thing for someone that’s only going to play 2 hrs a day, bronze is probably the better option (but you still want a quality bronze one from a known good manufacturer). If you’re gonna move your PSU in between builds it’s more of a decade long purchase and will continue to save you in the long run. It all just depends on the situation.
If you’re just building this for a colleague that doesn’t play much, give them a quality bronze PSU and (and maybe upgrade it if you can find a quality gold for another $10-15).
Try to find a used 3600 or 5600. Tons of people have upgraded their CPUs once the 5800x3d came out. I’ve got my old 5600x just sitting unused in a box because I haven’t bothered with coming up with a project for it yet.
For the M2 drive, PCIE 4.0 is wasted money over 3.0. I’ve actually “downgraded”. In my system over my last re-install, intending on moving all my games over to the pcie4 drive after getting the old system wiped off it. For the time being I’m running everything on the pcie3. Well, now I’m just committed to it. That was 6 months ago. I honestly can’t tell the difference between a game on the pcie3 and pcie4 drive.
The Crucial P3 2tb is less than 100 USD, ~85 GBP, and looks like it’s about 108 EUR on Amazon FR and DE. It’s a fantastic drive.
For the CPU cooler… why not just go with the stock AMD fan?
Also, I see in another comment you’ve said you went with Nvidia for raytracing. No one is going to be doing raytracing on 1440p 144hz with a 3060ti at over 60fps. For the budget you have here, forget about Ray tracing, and just pick a GPU that has the best raw rasterization performance. That maybe AMD or Nvidia depending on your local market prices, but if you can squeeze a rx6800 into the budget that would be a massive boost in performance.
Less complex than POE’s skill tree and gem system.
Enjoyable more complex than D3 and D4s trees.
Each base class has a passive tree, and each base class has 3 masteries. You can only master in 1 of the 3. Each mastery has its own passive tree as well. After a certain number of points in a passive tree, you unlock additional skills related to that class or mastery.
Each skill itself (max of 5 skills on the skill bar) had it’s own speculation tree. You’ll get ~20 points to customize how the skill plays (things like increased area of effect, cast speed, damage element type, etc).
There’s a lot of synergy between the skills, so you can specialize them in ways that make them feel very powerful.
Personally, it’s my favorite ARPG of the current generation. However it does feels a bit easy. I’m hoping they have it tuned towards getting people to end game faster to get more feedback during early access. I didn’t feel like I was where I should be in terms of difficulty unless I was in a zone 10 levels higher than me. Hopefully they narrow that gap by 1.0 and make it a little more difficult.
AM5 was released with the 7000 series CPUs. 8000s are absolutely going to be supported, and there’s a very high chance 9000 will be supported as well. I believe AM4 was supported for 4 generations of CPU.
Chances are you won’t conclusively know which CPU is supported until they are released, but to keep the odds ever in your favor you should pick a higher generation chipset. Unfortunately, it looks like only the 6xx generation are released at the moment so there’s not much choice.
